Salient Points of Press Conference of Hon’ble Union Minister & Senior BJP Leader Shri Arjun Munda

 

At a press conference held at his official residence in Delhi today, the Union Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shri Arjun Munda lambasted Akhil Giri, a Minister in Trinamool Congress party government in West Bengal led by Mamata Banerjee, for insulting the Honourable President and demanded that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should immediately sack him from her Cabinet.

The kind of language the Minister in the Mamata Banerjee government and senior Trinamool Congress party leader has used against the first Tribal President Smt Droupadi Murmu ji, it is an insult of our nation, and it is also an insult of our Constitution. It is also an insult of the entire Tribal society and our women. It is highly deplorable, highly condemnable and unpardonable. By the statement of Akhil Giri, the image and prestige of our country has been severely dented globally.

The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly condemns the highly deplorable statement given by the Minister in the Trinamool Congress party government Akhil Giri. The Trinamool Congress should offer it’s, it should offer apology to the nation for this highly atrocious statement against the Head of the State, it should apologise to the Tribal community and to the women of the country. The Trinamool Congress party should immediately terminate the Minister. Akhil Giri should also be sacked as MLA.

The Chief Minister of West Bengal is herself a woman. How can she tolerate such nonsense against the Honourable President? A senior Minister of the Trinamool Congress party government openly uses such foul language against the Honourable President who comes from the Tribal society, still Mamata Banerjee has kept her mouth shut. Why?

Mamata Banerjee should come out clean on this issue. She should give some statement on this. She should explain why her party leader have such a direction and under whose instigation? The statement of the Trinamool Congress leader and its Minister has deeply hurt the democratic principles of our country.

It seems that the Trinamool Congress party is unable to come to terms with the growth and progress of our Tribal society. Akhil Giri's highly unfortunate and deplorable statement and the silence of the Trinamool Congress party leader and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee shows the true character of the Trinamool Congress party and its animosity towards our Tribal society. The Trinamool Congress party and its government has been working against the interests of our Tribal society.

By giving such insulting and demeaning statement against the Honourable President the Trinamool Congress party wants to create rift and unrest in the country. The statement given on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas Programme in Nandigram is aimed at just one thing -- to trigger violence and unrest in the society. In West Bengal the Bharatiya Janata Party workers are being targetted by the goons of the Trinamool Congress party and the administration , but today's incident is not only aimed at creating unrest in the society but also an attempt to tarnish the image of the country.

It is not just the matter of the Trinamool Congress party, it has become a trend that since the leader who comes from a poor Adivasi community has been chosen to lead the country's highest Constitutional position, from that day the Congress party and many other Opposition parties have been targetting her and insulting her. They have not been able to come to terms with the fact that that how a woman from the Adivasi community was able to occupy the seat of the President of our country.
