Hon’ble Union Minister of State and Senior BJP leader Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Friday. During the conference, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticized the statement "Pakistan is a respected country" by Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, emphasizing that it reflects the ideology of his party.

 

Shri Chandrasekhar said that the statement of Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar actually exposes the ideology and policies of Rahul Gandhi and the entire Congress party, which shows their closeness with “Pakistan” which sponsors terrorism and working as propagandist for Pakistan. It has become a pattern of Congress to distance itself from the statements of its leaders and Congress is trying to become a shield for Pakistan's terrorism.

 

Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar highlighted recent remarks by senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar, following Sam Pitroda’s racist comment regarding Indians. Mani Shankar Aiyar expressed the view that India should be fearful of Pakistan due to its possession of atomic bombs and described it as a respected country. The statements made by these two leaders reflect the ideology, policies and thoughts associated with Rahul Gandhi. Congress party has become an ‘apologist’ and ‘defender' for Pakistani terrorists.

 

Shri Chandrasekhar stated that it has become routine for Congress leaders to distance themselves from such statements. For instance, in 2019, when Sam Pitroda made dismissive remarks like "Hota Rehta Hai'' regarding the Pulwama attack. As the Congress distanced itself from the controversial remarks of Sam Pitroda, similarly their leaders like Jairam Ramesh will soon announce that the Congress distanced itself from Mani Shankar Aiyar. Either remark by Mani Shankar Aiyar or Sam Pitroda, this is a pattern showcasing the ideology and policy of the Congress party.

 

Senior BJP leader Shri Chandrasekhar emphasized that Congress' stance on Pakistan and terrorism has many examples. For instance, Mani Shankar Aiyar's comments and a recent statement by a Maharashtra Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar who claimed Kasab was not a terrorist and that Hemant Karkare was killed by a police inspector. Following the 26/11 attacks, Digvijay Singh who was then mentoring Rahul Gandhi said it was not a terror attack but a plot by the RSS. Recently, Pakistan's foreign minister expressed support for Rahul Gandhi. Congress has often distanced itself from various individuals on different occasions, including previously distancing itself from Sam Pitroda and now from Mani Shankar Aiyar. Although Congress previously distanced itself from Digvijay Singh, he remained in the party and became a Rajya Sabha MP.

 

Shri Chandrasekhar stated that during the recent elections in Kerala and Karnataka, the Congress sought support from both the SDPI and PFI, which have terror links. After the recent terror attack in Poonch where an Indian Air Force air warrior was martyred, it is well-known what Congress leaders said about the incident.

 

Senior BJP leader Shri Chandrasekhar stated that if all of this is to be summarized, it can be said that under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party has become an apologist for Pakistan and Pakistani-based terror.
