Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader & in Union Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman today addressed a press conference at party headquarters where she lambasted Congress Government in Punjab for horrific rape of a six year old native of Bihar. She criticized Punjab Chief Minister Amarender Singh, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra for growing cases of crime against girl child.

The kind of activism Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra showed in Hathras case, where were these leaders when horrific rape cases were reported from Congress-ruled Punjab, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh? Why didn't they speak up in these cases?

When a case is reported from Hathras, Rahul Gandhi rushes to that place on his political picnik. But when heinous crimes take place in Congress-ruled states, he keeps mum.

Rahul Gandhi who tweets on every issue fails to tweet when a small girl is raped in Hoshiarpur in Congress-ruled Punjab neither does he go on his political picnik to Hoshiarpur even after three days of the incident. This is true character of shameless and unethical Congress which is silent on brutal rape of small child.

In Hoshiarpur an innocent child was raped and killed and culprits tried to burn her body. This is highly deplorable. Congress' mum on this issue is saddening and shocking. Congress should not try to take mileage out of such heinous crimes like rape. Congress should have come forward and spoken about it.

When Congress is led by a woman, is such a response from the party logical and justifiable? Can they justify such 'selective outrage'? Is such conduct expected from a political party?

Yesterday Rahul Gandhi and Tejaswi Yadav jointly campaigned for Bihar elections but none spoke about the brutal rape of the innocent Bihar girl who was raped in Punjab. These leaders have no accountability towards the victim's family.

Bharatiya Janata Party stands in solidarity with all those who are fighting for justice for the victim's family. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders have already met the victim's family and assured them of all help and assistance. BJP will ensure that the victim's family gets timely justice.

Congress and Communist parties which are synonymous to 'tukde tukde' gang talks about freedom of speech. Everyone knows what happened with the media during Emergency under Congress rule, and what is happening now in Congress-ruled states like Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

The brother-sister duo should think aloud. How brutally their state governments are muzzling voices of the media and people. Their leaders say freedom of speech is in danger. Yes, it is in danger in all Congress-ruled states.
