SALIENT POINTS OF THE SPEECH OF BJP NATIONAL PRESIDENT SHRI JAGAT PRAKASH NADDA GIVEN AT A PROGRAMME ORGANISED TO MARK THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY WHERE HE DISTRIBUTED CREDIT LINKAGES TO WOMEN SELF HELP GROUPS IN DEWAS (MADHYA PRADESH)
Under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji India is changing and under his guidance Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan is transforming Madhya Pradesh. When women are empowered, when women get equal opportunities then the nation and the state moves ahead.

Earlier distribution of nutritious food used to happen through contractors, but it is Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan who changed this and decided to get this important work done through women self help groups. I thank and congratulate Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan and his entire team for this foresightedness and important decision in the favour of the state and its people.

Through this programme in next one year the women self help groups will make items worth Rs 800 crores . This is a very important initiative as it will help women to run their work very efficiently and also contribute immensely in the development of the society and the state.

On the occasion of the International Women's Day on March 8, 2018, the all -India National Nutrition Programme was kickstarted from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan to eradicate malnutrition and provide proper nutrition to women, girls and pregnant women. The National Nutrition Programme has proved to be very effective and efficient in tackling the problem of malnutrition in the country.

The National Nutrition Programme is being spearheaded nationally by 74 lakh self help groups in which 8 crore women are working. In Madhya Pradesh around 3.5 lakh self help groups are working where over 40 lakh women from 52 districts are involved in the programme.

Through today's programme in Madhya Pradesh the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government has financially empowered over 15 lakh women in the state by providing Rs 200 crores to 2000 self help groups. In next three years over 25 lakh women will be associated with the self help groups to make them financially and socially empowered.

Through the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' programme, which has played a very important role in women empowerment, we have been able to improve India's child sex ratio. In India earlier the child sex ratio used to be 918 girls against 1000 boys, which has improved to 1020 girls against 1000 boys, which is a big achievement of the Narendra Modi Government.

Similarly, the Sukanya Samridhi Yojna and Matr Vandan Yojna has also empowered our women. Around 2.58 crore women have so far benefitted from these schemes. So far over 11 crore 'izzat ghars' have been constructed. Madhya Pradesh too has become an open defecation free state. In Madhya Pradesh over 66 lakh 'izzat ghars' have been constructed.

Even after 70 years of our Independence women had to face the curse of open defecation and were living a miserable life. It was our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji who in his speech from the ramparts of Red Fort had announced the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission under which crores of toilets were built across the country and many states were made open defecation free. Our women for to live their lives with dignity and honour.

Through the Jan Dhan Scheme bank accounts of over 23 crore women were opened across the country and out of this 3.70 crore bank accounts of women were opened in Madhya Pradesh . During the Corona pandemic these bank accounts proved saviour of our women and their families, these accounts gave much needed financial support to our women across the country. Similarly, allround development and growth of women is happening through Mudra Yojna and Stand-up Yojna.

There are 12 women ministers in the Union Cabinet headed by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, and this is an all-time high. Under the Shivraj Singh Chauhan Government in Madhya Pradesh women are playing an important role.

Women are making their presence felt and are playing important role in all sectors - be it defence, finance, education, industry or any other sector. They are scaling new heights of excellence. In Madhya Pradesh too the Shivraj Singh Chauhan Government has introduced various schemes for the welfare and empowerment of women which includes Shramik Sewa Yojna and other schemes.

Under the leadership and guidance of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, all the Bharatiya Janata Party governments in the states have always given the welfare and wellbeing of women as top priority. There are several schemes which have empowered our women and made their lives easier and happy. These schemes include Saubhagya Yojna, Ujjwala Yojna, Ujala Yojna, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jan Dhan Yojna - all these important schemes have empowered women and taken care of women of all sections of our society.
