The Hon’ble National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji today addressed a public rally at GMS ground, Old Riphyim, Tuyi Mandal in Wokha and appealed to the people of Nagaland to make NDA govt once again for peace, prosperity and development. Shri Nadda is on a two- day visit to Nagaland. He will hold several important party meetings and also interact with party leaders and intellectuals during his visit. On his arrival at Dimapur Airport today, he was warmly welcomed by State BJP President Shri Temjen Imna Along, BJP Co-ordinator for North-East Dr Sambit Patra, BJP National Secretary Shri Rituraj Sinha, BJP National Spokesperson Shri Mmhonlümo Kikon and party karyakartas.

 

●       It is indeed a matter of great opportunity and happiness for me to be here in Wokha and address you all. It gives me immense pleasure to come here and talk to you. First of all, I would like to thank Dy. CM Shri YV Patton and our state president Shri Temjen Imna Along gave me this opportunity to come to Wokha and talk to you.

 

●       Nagaland is a land of festivals and it is a land who fought for the national aspirations. Shri Nadda also paid rich tributes to freedom fighters of Nagaland who fought against the Britishers to protect the native people of Nagaland with the support of villagers. History tells us how Naga people have fought for the culture and for the protection of history. They have dedicated their lives to protect their tradition and culture. I salute all of you.

 

●       We also remember that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose established the first Azad Hind Administered Village in Naga hills in Ruzasho village. We are also grateful to the present tribal leaders of Nagaland who are also protecting the tribal culture of Nagaland. Nagaland is a home of 16 tribes and all the 16 tribes have been fighting to restore, to conserve the culture of Nagaland.

 

●       If anyone has truly recognised the problems and issues of our Tribal society and seriously addressed their issues, it is one and only our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.

 

●       The development journey under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has got a lot of support from the states of the Northeast, known as Ashtalakshmi in the Shri Narendra Modi Government.

 

●       Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the North-East in New India is becoming the new engine of India's development. A plan has been prepared to revive the development of the North-East on the basis of 'Highway, Railway, Waterway, Airway and I-way'. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the 'Look East' policy to 'Act East' policy.

 

●       The Modi Government is committed to the all-round development of the Northeast region. The Government of India is committed to making the North East an economic hub connecting Southeast Asia under the Act East Policy.

 

●       Earlier the entire Northeast use to suffer due to terrorism, infiltration, bandh and protests, economic blockade, drug trafficking, corruption and caste based tensions. But now the entire Northeast has changed and transformed as our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has made this region a hub of development, growth, connectivity, IT, sports, foreign and domestic investments and hub of organic agriculture.

 

●       Under the double engine government of the NDA, Nagaland is now strongly moving ahead towards peace and prosperity.

 

●       Ever since the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji took over the power of the country, he has paid special attention to the development of the North East. The Prime Minister has visited the Northeast more than 50 times in the last seven and half years.

 

●       The Narendra Modi govt has invested thousands of crores on the infrastructure of North East. The work of connecting all the state capitals of the North East with the rail network is going on at a brisk pace. The mission of connecting the state capitals of the North East with 4 lanes, district headquarters with 2 lanes and villages with all weather roads is progressing rapidly.

 

●       Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has made efforts to establish peace by enriching the dignity, culture, language, literature and music of the Northeast.

 

●       Recently, the centre has extended the ceasefire agreements between the Central government and three Naga groups by a year which was signed on 19th April 2022. There are certain issues and we are working on them.

 

●       Under the guidance of Hon'ble Prime Minister, our government has set a target of resolving all the disputes of the Northeast.

 

●       The Karbi anglong agreement was signed in 2021. This agreement is in synergy with the vision of Insurgency free prosperous North East, that envisages all-round development of northeast, peace and prosperity. The NLFT Tripura Agreement was signed on 10 August 2019. For permanent settlement of Bru families, Bru accord has been signed. Similarly, the Bodo Peace Accord was signed in 2020 to resolve the long pending Bodo issues.

 

●       I would like to say that it is really an opportunity to the people of Nagaland and people of India that under the dynamic leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the country is prospering at a very high speed taking big leaps as far as development is concerned. I am also happy to note that Nagaland is also not left Behind. We are committed to the speedy growth of Nagaland.

 

●       The consistent efforts of the Government under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and improvement in the security situation in the Northeast has resulted in a significant step by the Government of India to reduce the disturbed areas under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Nagaland, Assam and Manipur after decades. We are trying to solve the Assam-Meghalaya border issues too and very soon we will resolve it.

 

●       Under the leadership and guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji India developed two Made In India Corona vaccines thus showing India's prowess, while around more than 215 crore vaccine doses have already been administered so far. India gave over 1.48 crore vaccine doses to various countries free of cost. We also gave vaccines to over 100 nations. Indian vaccines have been appreciated across the world as they are cheap and highly effective. Our Vaccine Maitri initiative has been hailed across the globe.

 

●       It is due to the effective foreign policy of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji  that India was able to evacuate over 23,000 students from war-torn Ukraine and Afghanistan.

 

●       India used to be dependent on imports for its need for the defence sector, but under the leadership and guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji today India has emerged as an "export hub". Our defence exports have increased by six times. Our agriculture budget has also increased four times under the Narendra Modi Government. In 2014, our Agriculture budget used to be Rs 33,000 crores, while this year Agriculture budget has been increased to Rs 1.33 lakh crores. Over Rs 93,000 crores is being spent on irrigation projects across the country.

 

●       Pradhanmantri Gareeb Kalyan Ann Yojna, Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Sindhi Yojna, Soubhagya Yojna, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojna, Swachh Bharat Yojna, Jan Dhan Yojna, Pradhanmantri Ujjawala Yojna are some of the initiatives of the Narendra Modi Government which have established public welfare governance in the country today. This is changing India.

 

●       The Corona pandemic badly affected the global economy. The world is facing an economic crisis and trying to battle the after-effects of the pandemic but under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji, our economy is growing at a fast pace. In the last financial years India clocked a growth rate of over 8.7% while the world's average growth rate is just around 6%. India's economy grew by 13.5 per cent in the April-June period this fiscal -- the fastest in the last four quarters -- on account of better performance by the agriculture and services sectors.

 

●       The Hon'ble Prime Minister said if other regions can be developed, I don't find any reasons why Nagaland cannot develop. He has given a way for development of North-East - Transformation to transportation.

 

●       The NDA govt in Nagaland under the able leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is working fine. We will continue to empower every citizen of Nagaland.
