Hon’ble Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda addressed a public rally at Kokrajhar, Udalguri, and Dudhanoi in Assam and highlighted that the Congress and INDI Alliance were involved in corruption and neglected the region. He praised Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s efforts to foster peace and development in the Northeast while integrating it with the mainstream. During the event, Assam CM Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam BJP President Shri Bhabesh Kalita, UPPL President Shri Pramod Boro, State BJP election charge Shri Ashok Singhal, NDA candidates from Kokrajhar Shri Joyanta Basumatary, from Udalgiri Shri Dilip Saikia, from Guwahati Smt Bijuli Kalita Medhi and several other leaders were present.

 

Shri Nadda expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm and support of the crowd, interpreting it as a strong indication of the NDA's anticipated victory by a significant margin across Assam. Shri Nadda stated that Kokrajhar was once infamous for bomb blasts, blockades, and strikes, serving as an epicenter for conflicts. During this tumultuous period, the Congress was not only a mute spectator but also accused of fueling tensions in the region. Shri Nadda underscored the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the effective stewardship of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah in facilitating the signing of the Bodo Peace Accord on January 27, 2020, bringing peace to Kokrajhar. He noted that the Bodo movement persisted for over a decade, but following the accord, 1615 individuals surrendered, marking it as one of the most effective peace agreements of the 21st century. Shri Nadda commended the active and positive role of the UPPL in contributing to the success of the peace accord.

 

Hon’ble BJP National President highlighted the celebration of Bihu in Bodo Land following its recognition as a territorial entity, with the Chief Executive Member residing there. He mentioned that Shri Narendra Modi Govt allocated ₹1500 crore for the Bodo Land Peace Accord, demonstrating the government's commitment to peace and development in the region. Additionally, he noted that the Central government's efforts led to the integration of Bodo Land through participation in events like the Santosh Trophy and Durand Trophy. Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda highlighted the significant relief that over 70% of the northeast region has experienced, as it is now free from the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). The Congress party's approach was perceived as ignorant and isolating the Northeast, but Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s government has prioritized connecting the region to mainland India through various development initiatives, thereby fostering integration and progress. Shri Nadda highlighted that previously, there was a perception among people in the Northeast that "Delhi Dur Hai," indicating a sense of distance from the central government. However, he emphasized that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, development efforts have instilled a new belief among the people of the Northeast, transforming the notion to "Na Dilli Dur Hai, Na Aap Dil se Dur Hai."

 

Shri Nadda highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has visited the North East region 70 times over the span of 10 years, surpassing the total visits made by all previous Prime Ministers combined. Shri Nadda revealed that in the past decade, our Union Ministers have visited the North East approximately 680 times. He emphasized that Modi referred to the Ashtalakshmi model to integrate the North East into the mainstream based on pillars such as peace, hydropower generation, tourism, 5G connectivity, culture, natural farming, sports, and enhancement of potential. Shri Nadda mentioned that 71% of insurgency in the North East has been eradicated. Additionally, he noted that more than 60% of insurgent attacks and over 82% of civilian deaths have ceased. Shri Nadda emphasized that over the past 5 years, 5 lakh crore has been allocated for the North East's development. He noted Prime Minister Shri Modi's emphasis on advancing the Eastern regions alongside the nation, leading to a new strategy for the North East encapsulated in the motto "Act East, Look East, Act First, Act Fast."

 

Hon’ble BJP National President highlighted that PM Shri Narendra Modi applied the HIRA model of governance, focusing on the development of Highways, Internet connectivity, Railways, and Airways, where H stands for Highways. Over the past 9 years, approximately 6,000 kilometers of national highways have been constructed, with nearly ₹3 lakh crore invested in national highways in the North East and I stand for Internet, with around 6,000 villages now connected through optical fiber. Additionally, the budget for Assam's railway has been increased fourfold, and in the past 8 years, 8 airports have been built in the North East, including 3 in Assam. Furthermore, the UNNATI scheme, focusing on the transformation and industrialization of the North East, has been advanced with an expenditure of around ₹10,000 crore. Shri Nadda highlighted the creation of special provisions for tribals and the celebration of Tribal Pride Day. Additionally, it was decided to establish museums in honor of 10 tribal freedom fighters across the country. Two tribal museums will be built in the Northeast to ensure recognition for those who have contributed to the unity and integrity of our nation and to educate people about their contributions. Shri Nadda mentioned that 400 Eklavya schools are being established. He stated that under Shri Modi's leadership, India has moved from the 11th position to the 5th position in the global economic arena in the last 5 years, surpassing Britain. Shri Nadda highlighted that under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Modi India is likely to become the world's third-largest economy by 2027.

 

Shri Nadda highlighted that India's electronic manufacturing exports have increased sixfold, and in steel manufacturing, we have moved from the 4th to the 2nd position globally. India has surpassed Japan to become the world's third-largest automobile market, 97% of mobile manufacturing now takes place in India, and chemical exports have grown by 106%. Earlier, God's idols and children's toys used to come from China, but today under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the production of toys in India has increased two and a half times. In the pharmaceutical industry, India is producing the most cost-effective and effective medicines, leading to a 138% increase in exports to the world. Shri Nadda emphasized that under Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, strength has been provided to the rural, poor, marginalized, distressed, underprivileged, Dalits, women, youth, and farmers. He highlighted that if power has been given to these sections of society, it is due to Modi's leadership. Shri Nadda also noted that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 4 crore houses have been built in ten years, and according to the BJP's Sankalp Patra, an additional 30 million houses will be constructed in the next five years. Shri Nadda also mentioned that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 180,000 houses have been built in Kokrajhar, and 170,000 houses have been built in Udalguri highlighting the specific achievements in housing development in that region. Shri Nadda highlighted that under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, an annual payment of ₹6000 is provided to 11 crore 78 lakh farmers. More than 12 lakh farmers are benefiting from the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme in Assam.

 

Shri Nadda state that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide "Har Ghar Jal" and "Har Ghar Nal", benefits have been extended to 11 crore households nationwide. 340,000 households in Kokrajhar and 370,000 households in Udalguri have benefited from this initiative. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, more than 11 crore Ijjat Ghar has been constructed, focusing on providing dignity to women. In Kokrajhar alone, 420,000 toilets have been built. He noted that under Ayushman Bharat, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has ensured health coverage of up to 5 lakhs rupees annually for impoverished individuals, benefiting over 11 crore people nationwide and 2.7 lakhs people in Assam. Shri Nadda highlighted that as per the BJP's Sankalp Patra, PM Shri Modi has pledged to provide a 5 lakh rupee health cover annually to elderly citizens aged 70 and above, irrespective of their caste or financial status. He also mentioned the establishment of South Asia's largest cancer care center in Assam. Moreover, Shri Nadda pointed out that in the past 5 years, Shri Modi has completed significant infrastructure projects such as the Bogibeel Bridge and the Bhupen Hazarika Setu. He further pointed out the renovation of 50 old railway stations in Assam. 130,000 people have been provided with gas connections through Ujjwala in Udalguri.

 

Hon’ble BJP National Presidenta highlighted the ideological warfare in the country, contrasting that on one side, PM Shri Narendra Modi, focused on 'Bhrashtachar Hatao', and on the other hand the opposition aimed at 'Bhrashtachariyo ko Bachao'. While Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is dedicated to the vision of continuous development, the opposition appears to be shielding corrupt leaders. Shri JP Nadda highlighted that the Congress has been involved in numerous scams, such as the Commonwealth Games, Coalgate, 2G-3G, AgustaWestland, Rice, Sugar, and Submarine scams. Congress has left no realm untouched; they have done scams in every sphere, from land to the skies, and even the underworld. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is embroiled in cases linked to the Gomti Riverfront project, the laptop distribution scandal, and the Alkatra Scam. RJD leader Lalu Yadav faces charges related to land-for-jobs, the Rice scam, and the fodder scam. TMC leaders are implicated in a scandal concerning teachers' recruitment scam. DMK’s MK Stalin has been accused over the DA case for harboring a property of 1.32 Lakh crore property. BRS leader KCR, KTR, and K. Kavitha are alleged to be involved in a liquor scam.

 

Shri Nadda pointed out that leaders from various opposition parties, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, P. Chidambaram, Karti Chidambaram, Lalu Yadav, Sanjay Singh, and others, are out on bail. Additionally, prominent figures like Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, AAP Leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, SP leader Azam Khan, as well as leaders and ministers from TMC and DMK, are currently in jail. Shri Nadda emphasized that leaders of the INDI alliance are either facing legal issues or behind bars.

 

Shri Nadda further stated that the opposition is solely focused on vote bank politics and lacks concern for development and the welfare of the public. However, Shri Nadda expressed confidence that voters are well-informed and are ensuring the return of the Modi government with a stronger mandate, and will ensure 'Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar' and 'Abki Baar 400 Paar'.
