There are 5 members from the Tribal society who are Ministers in the BJP government in Tripura. First time since our Independence it was the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government which created a separate Tribal Affairs Ministry to ensure fast and holistic growth l, development and progress of our Tribal communities.

75 years after our Independence the National Institute For Tribals has been established. It is our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji who finally visualised this long pending dream and Honourable Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah ji inaugurated this prestigious institution.

It is our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji who decided to celebrate November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in the honour and memory of renowned Tribal freedom fighter and great Tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda ji. Today entire nation celebrates his birth anniversary as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.

After 64 years the Union government has greatly reduced the use of the Armed Forces Special Power Act and have restored the rights of our Tribal brothers and sisters. The life of dignity of our Tribal society has been restored by the Narendra Modi Government.

The UPA government used to spend Rs 277 crores on the operation of Eklavya Model Schools, whereas under the Narendra Modi Government this Budget has been greatly increased to Rs 1200 crores . The Narendra Modi Government has increased the budget for education of Tribal students from Rs 11,000 crores to Rs 42,000 crores.

For the scholarships of Tribal students the Congress led UPA government used to spend Rs 970 crores , whereas the Narendra Modi Government is spending Rs 2500 crores on this. Similarly the budget for Tribal sub plan has also been increased from Rs 21,000 crores to Rs 86,000 crores by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. This is the level of commitment and dedication for our Tribal communities of the Narendra Modi Government.

Under the Jal Jivan Mission , the Narendra Modi Government is providing water to households to over 1.20 crore Tribal families across the country. Similarly under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna free medical insurance facility and health coverage is being provided to 1.70 crore Tribal families. The benefits of Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna is being provided to around 3 crore farmers belonging to the Tribal communities.

The Narendra Modi Government is constructing "Janjatiya Swatantrata Senani Sangrahalay in 10 states. These museums will highlight the sacrifices and contributions of our great Tribal leaders in our freedom struggles and tell our future generations their great contributions in the making of a strong and self reliant India.
