Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed an intellectual meeting in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. During the event, BJP Visakhapatnam North Assembly Constituency MLA candidate P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, Elamanchili Constituency MLA candidate Shri S Vijay Kumar from Jana Sena, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Shri GVL Narasimha Rao, state Vice President Shri PVN Madhav and other leaders were present. Shri Rajnath Singh praised the NDA government for its development work under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi. He criticized the Congress and YSR Congress Party for attempting to destroy Andhra Pradesh and engaging in appeasement politics.

Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh stated that for the past 10 years, the Modi-led government has been in power, and the people have realized the work done by PM Shri Narendra Modi. The ground reality cannot be ignored that the stature of India has been elevated in the world. Shri Singh mentioned that now the whole world precisely listens to India on the global stage. Shri Rajnath Singh recounted a recent instance during the Russia-Ukraine conflict when Indian students were stranded in Ukraine. Upon their parents' appeal, PM Shri Narendra Modi swiftly engaged with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, resulting in a 4.5-hour ceasefire that facilitated the safe evacuation of over 22,000 students from Ukraine.

Shri Singh speaking on the economy, mentioned that in 2014, India was ranked 11th globally, but Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership has worked wonders, and within eight years, India has climbed to the top 5 countries in the world. Economists and experts worldwide acknowledge that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, India is the fastest-growing economy globally. If India continues to progress at this rate, it will be among the top three economies globally by 2027.

Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Singh mentioned that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi harbors the dedication and willpower to lead the country and forward it to development. Shri Singh stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, within just 8 years of governance, over 25 crore people have been lifted from the poverty line, according to NITI Ayog. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that Vishakhapatnam boasts a vibrant culture and immense potential. He noted that when Andhra Pradesh was divided in 2013, numerous outstanding issues needed resolution by the then UPA government. Unfortunately, the government failed to address these issues. In contrast, under the NDA government, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee successfully created three new states—Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand—without leaving any unresolved issues. This underscores the contrasting working styles between the two administrations.

Shri Singh Said that when it comes to national or state issues, the Congress party neither adds, multiplies, nor divides. Using the example of the division of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, he pointed out that many unresolved issues remain. Shri Singh mentioned that when it comes to dividing society along religious lines, the Congress party seems to excel. He noted that it was Congress, along with the Muslim League, that played a significant role in the partition of the country. Shri Singh emphasized that since the first day of independence, the Congress has engaged in appeasement politics and division of society along religious lines. Shri Singh stated that appeasement and vote bank politics are deeply ingrained in the DNA of the Congress. Furthermore, Shri Singh highlighted that during the Congress-led UPA government's tenure at the Centre, they established the 'Ranganath Mishra Commission' and the 'Sachar Commission' which were aimed at prioritizing specific communities under the guise of minority welfare.

Shri Singh emphasized that former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh himself stated that minorities, particularly Muslims, have the foremost claim on the country's resources. He expressed his belief that such a stance is unconstitutional. When PM Shri Narendra Modi addressed this statement, the INDI Alliance and Congress created an issue in the country. Shri Singh stated that the Congress government of Andhra Pradesh established the first laboratory for the Congress's communal agenda. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that an attempt was made to provide reservations to Muslims in Andhra Pradesh by reducing the reservation given to SC/ST and OBC, playing a dirty game due to vote bank politics. However, both the Andhra Pradesh High Court and the Supreme Court rejected this decision. Despite legal hurdles and Supreme Court awareness, Congress attempted to implement 'Muslim reservation' in Andhra Pradesh four times between 2004 and 2010. However, they failed due to legal constraints. From 2004 to 2014, Congress made five attempts to implement reservations based on religion but failed. The 'Ranganath Mishra Commission,' formed by Congress, recommended allocating 6% of the OBC reservation to Muslims and 2% to minorities. The commission also mentioned that even if Scheduled Caste people changed their religion, they would not be exempted from reservation. Furthermore, Congress ended the reservation of SC/ST in Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University. The Congress manifesto has indicated reservation for religious minorities in government jobs, which, if implemented, can also include the Armed Forces under its ambit. This is an idea that affects the unity and integrity of the country. This would be a terrible situation for this country.

Hon’ble Union Minister mentioned that in 2024, the Congress included the issue of 'Muslim reservation' in its manifesto. When Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi exposed this tactic, the Congress party began attacking him. Shri Singh stated that Congress accuses the Prime Minister of lying, while the truth is that Congress is openly trying to deceive the people of this country. He added that the promises made by Congress in its manifesto will create new divisions in this country and society. By examining sections 3 and 6 together in the chapter on minorities in the Congress manifesto, it becomes evident what Congress aims to achieve. In section 3, it was written: "We will encourage and assist students and youth belonging to the minorities to take full advantage of the growing opportunities in education, employment, business, services, sports, arts, and other fields." Whereas in section 6, it highlights: "We will ensure that the minorities receive their fair share of opportunities in education, healthcare, public employment, public works contracts, skill development, sports, and cultural activities without discrimination."

Shri Singh mentioned that on one hand, Congress intends to promote the youth of minorities to enhance their participation in various sectors such as education, employment, business, services, sports, arts, and more. On the other hand, it pledges to ensure that they receive their fair share. This will be achieved through legal provisions, as indicated by the term ensure. Shri Singh stated that it suggests that Congress is potentially preparing to introduce 'religion-based reservation' through indirect means. The BJP and NDA advocate for ‘Justice to All and Appeasement to none’.

Union Minister Shri Singh stated that whatever Congress has said in its manifesto in the name of 'minority welfare' is concerning. When the Sachar Committee formed under the Congress government gave its report in 2006, it also suggested a religious census in the Indian Army. This was the first time in the history of independent India that an attempt was made to divide the armed forces on religious lines. At that time, the BJP was in opposition and we opposed the Sachar Committee report with full force. But this is the real face of Congress. It wants to divide every institution and every system of this country. It wants to divide the country into Hindus and Muslims. Shri Rajnath Singh asserted that the BJP has always strongly opposed this. The Congress has always tried to create divisions in every occupation and institution. Shri Rajnath Singh stated that the Congress manifesto has hinted at reservation for religious minorities in government jobs, which, if implemented, could extend to include the Armed Forces. This proposal threatens the unity and integrity of the nation, potentially leading to a highly precarious situation for the country. Shri Singh mentioned that INC leader Sam Pitroda has made a statement that in America there is an inheritance of 55% on wealth redistributions. Sam Pitroda's statement showcased that the intentions of Congress are very dangerous.

Shri Singh underscored the significance of the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) currently under construction in Andhra Pradesh, noting its potential to serve as the economic backbone of the state. Spanning approximately 465 km, this corridor forms a crucial part of the East-West Economic Corridor and aligns with the Act East Policy and Make in India initiatives by PM Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Singh claimed that economic experts anticipate that the VCIC will attract an investment of 100 billion US dollars, creating around 10 lakh job opportunities and marking a major achievement for Visakhapatnam. However, the progress of this project has been hindered by the state government's lack of diligence. Additionally, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has sanctioned the construction of the Bhogapuram International Airport, with a capacity to accommodate 60 lakh passengers annually. In Andhra Pradesh, numerous paddy farmers faced hardships during the UPA government's tenure, leading many to opt for crop holidays due to unprofitable farming conditions. However, under the Modi government, paddy and wheat were procured at Minimum Support Prices, resulting in significant support to farmers. Over the past decade, paddy and wheat farmers have received payments totaling 18 lakh crore rupees. In the fisheries sector, government investments totaling 38 thousand crore rupees have led to a notable increase in fish production, from 95 lakh metric tons to 175 lakh metric tons. In Andhra Pradesh specifically, fish production has surged from 38 lakh metric tons to 51 lakh metric tons. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted the allocation of 15 thousand crore rupees by the Central Government for the 'Polavaram Project' to address farmers' irrigation needs. However, the completion of this project has been delayed due to a lack of serious commitment from the YSR Congress Government. Additionally, Shri Rajnath Singh expressed concern over Visakhapatnam's transition from an envisioned cultural, industrial, and commercial hub to being dubbed as a drugs capital. This shift in reputation is deeply regrettable, tarnishing the city's former status as the 'City of Destiny' and branding it as an 'International Drugs Distribution Centre'.

Shri Singh pointed out that despite the YSR Congress Party government's empty coffers, Andhra Pradesh is burdened with a staggering debt of Rs 13.5 lakh crore. Moreover, the government has implemented numerous tax hikes, resulting in every individual in the state carrying a debt of Rs 2 lakh. Shri Singh raised concerns about the allocation of these funds and highlighted the prevalence of various illegal operations such as the Sand Mafia, Land Mafia, Mining Mafia, and Miller Mafia, which operate openly in Andhra Pradesh. There is a pressing need to investigate where these funds are being directed and who is benefitting from them.

Hon’ble Shri Singh emphasized that land grabbing by the YSRCP must be stopped, and the NDA is committed to achieving this goal once it forms the government in Andhra Pradesh. Despite being a national party, the NDA has agreed to become a junior partner in the state to address issues of governance and corruption under the YSRCP regime. Shri Singh underscored the NDA's deep respect for Telugu culture and heritage, mentioning Prime Minister Modi's visits to significant cultural and religious sites in Andhra Pradesh, including Virbhadra Mandir, Lepakshi Mandir, and Tirupati Balaji. He also acknowledged the contribution of freedom fighter Alluri Sitaram Raju and the honoring of former Prime Minister Shri PV Narasimha Rao with the Bharat Ratna by PM Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Singh mentioned the importance of simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh and expressed the BJP's support for the concept of "One Nation One Election" to save the country's resources. Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh urged voters to support NDA candidates in both state and national elections to ensure victory for the NDA.
