Hon’ble Union Defence Minister and Senior BJP leader Shri Rajnath Singh addressed public meetings in Kalahandi and Rayagada Odisha. He criticized the Congress for corruption and urged the public to give the BJP a decisive victory in the Lok Sabha and assembly elections. During the event, former Tripura MP Shri Biplab Kumar Deb, Shri Ramesh Saho, District President Kalahandi Shri Artatrana Mahapatra, BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Kalahandi Smt Malvika Devi, Koraput candidate Shri Kaliram Majhi, among other leaders were present.

Shri Singh commenced his speech by seeking the blessings of Bhagwan Jagannath and Maa Manikshwari. He stated that a few years ago, Kalahandi was known as the place of severe hunger, poverty and helplessness. But under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership over the last decade, the social welfare programs implemented have significantly changed that perception. Under PM Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership, previous perception towards Kalahandi would change in the next 5-8 years

Hon’ble Shri Rajnath stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is determined to ensure that every region in India undergoes rapid development. Only when every region in India is developed can the dream of ‘Viksit Bharat’ be realized. In Kalahandi, many NGOs used to visit to witness poverty and after leaving the region, they would write articles in newspapers saying that there might not be as much poverty anywhere in the world as there is in Kalahandi.

Shri Singh emphasized that the Congress party ruled the country for a long period. From Pt Nehru to Manmohan Singh all claimed that they would eradicate poverty in India once they were in power. Congress held uninterrupted rule in India for 50-55 years, yet poverty persisted. Since Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi took office, the government has succeeded in lifting 25 crore people out of poverty within 8-9 years. Global financial institutions acknowledge this achievement. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has made significant progress on the mission he started, which Congress was never able to accomplish.

Shri Singh stated that he chaired the committee that crafted the election manifesto. The manifesto was meticulously prepared. BJP is known for fulfilling its promises. It is Modi ki guarantee that within 10-15 years, poverty in India will be eradicated. In the next 5 years, every person will have a pucca home. No family will be without access to nal se jal and every home will have an LPG gas cylinder for cooking. Shri Narendra Modi has extended Ayushman Bharat benefits to everyone, although the extent of its reach to the public in Odisha is uncertain due to the BJD government. If a BJP government takes power in Odisha, everyone eligible for an Ayushman Bharat card will receive it. Regardless of income, caste or religion, Ayushman Bharat benefits will cover medical expenses up to ₹5 lakh for any family member up to the age of 70, after the BJP government takes office in June.

Union Minister Shri Singh stated that BJP is the only party in India that keeps its promises. The party had long pledged to abolish Article 370 once it achieved a clear majority in the central government. After securing majorities in both houses of Parliament, Article 370 was repealed. Congress had mocked the BJP for its commitment to build the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, but the BJP fulfilled its promise as the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla took place on January 22, moving Bhagwan Ram from a tent to his magnificent Mandir. This marks the beginning of Ram Rajya.

Hon’ble Union Defence Minister stated that when the BJP proposed ending triple talaq, people questioned why the BJP was interfering in other religions' matters. However, the BJP will not tolerate any abuse against women, regardless of her religion. The BJP had promised to abolish triple talaq when it came into power and it fulfilled that promise.

Shri Singh highlighted that Congress has always engaged in negative politics. In Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked a convoy of the nation's army and Punjab Congress senior leader and Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi described it as an electoral stunt. Previously, terrorist incidents frequently occurred in many states across India. However, since the BJP came to power, these incidents have nearly ceased. An air force soldier was martyred in a terrorist attack, but the army personnel demonstrated their bravery and valor by immediately eliminating two terrorists.

Union Defence Minister Shri Singh emphasized that the BJP's approach is different from that of Congress and Biju Janata Dal. Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had once said he sends 100 paise, but only 15 paise reached the people. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi took on this challenge and established the trinity of Jan Dhan, Aadhaar and Mobile, ensuring that 100 out of 100 paise now reach the people's pockets without any loss to corruption. No one ever imagined that India would have a prime minister who would provide free rations to 80 crore people. Today, no one in the country dies from hunger. The nation is progressing rapidly. Shri Rajnath Singh appealed to the public to support the Bharatiya Janata Party's Lok Sabha candidates for a decisive victory.
