Hon'ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh held road shows in Namakkal and Tenkasi and addressed a public rally in Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu. During the event, Namakkal Lok Sabha candidate Shri K.P. Ramalingam, Tenkasi Lok Sabha candidate Shri John Pandian and Nagapattinam Lok Sabha Candidate Shri M. Ramesh Govind were present. During the address, Union Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh lauded the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu and highlighted the developmental efforts undertaken by the Central Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Rajnath Singh condemned corruption in past administrations of congress led UPA, asserting that while other political parties prioritize power and engage in corruption, the Bharatiya Janata Party remains steadfast in its commitment to nation-building.

Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh expressed pride in being in the land of great warriors Raj Raja Chola and Rajendra Chola, renowned for enhancing India's naval and military prowess. Shri Rajnath Singh also conveyed his fascination with Tamil Nadu, the birthplace of Tamil language, one of the world's oldest and most beautiful languages, considered the eldest sister among all Indian languages.

Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh pointed out that people had no information about Sengol before. However, ever since Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi established Sengol as a symbol of justice and freedom in the new parliament, every citizen of the country has started to learn about Sengol. The establishment of Sengol in India's new Parliament building marks the beginning of a new era for India and it has led to the promotion of Tamil culture nationally and globally. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated Tamil Sangamam in Kashi and Saurashtra. To honour the esteemed poet, Subramanya Bharathi, his birthday has been designated as Bhasha Diwas, and a Tamil Studies Center has been inaugurated at Banaras Hindu University. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the United Nations in the Tamil language for the first time in India's history.

Shri Rajnath Singh remarked that India has embarked on a journey with new resolutions. Despite significant progress in the 75 years since independence, governments haven't worked at the pace and level required for India's development. Shri Rajnath highlighted that under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, there has been a significant shift in the pace of India's development. In the last decade, India has witnessed substantial transformations, resulting in favourable outcomes today. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that India ranked 11th globally in terms of economy in 2014, but under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India's economy is now among the top 5 worldwide. Moreover, economists worldwide anticipate that by 2027, India will ascend to become the world's third-largest economy.

Shri Rajnath Singh pointed out that 92% of mobile phones in the country were imported before 2014, but now, 92% of mobile phones are exported from India worldwide. Previously, tanks, missiles, and artillery were imported from other countries, but now all these items are being produced in India. Currently, India ranks among the selective countries with 5G mobile connectivity, and Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has launched initiatives for 6G connectivity. The outcome of the revolution in internet and mobile technology is evident that Indians are now conducting small transactions digitally using UPI. India witnessed nearly ₹ 20 lakh crore worth of transactions through UPI, surpassing any other country worldwide in March 2024 alone.

Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized that during Congress' tenure, corruption allegations were rampant, with ministers even being sent to jail. However, in the past decade under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, the BJP and its ministers have remained free from such allegations. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted PM Rajiv Gandhi's lament that only 14 paise out of every rupee sent from Delhi reached the people, with the rest lost to corruption. However, our Prime Minister accepted the challenge to combat corruption and ensured that the entire amount, all 100 paise, reached the bank accounts of the people.

Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh noted that in the past, road construction progressed at a rate of 10-12 kilometres per day. However, today, the pace has significantly accelerated, with a remarkable 37-40 kilometres of road being constructed per day. Over the past nine years, 3.5 lakh kilometres of roads have been constructed in rural areas, alongside 80 thousand kilometres of highways across the nation. Shri Rajnath Singh underscored the significant improvements in air connectivity, noting that India's airport count has surged from 74 to 148 within a decade. Similarly, while India previously had just 7 AIIMS, the number has now increased to 22.

Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh stressed that BJP’s political goals extend beyond mere governance formation; BJP's focus is on nation-building and advancing the country's development. In contrast, opposition parties are often driven solely by the pursuit of power, engaging in corruption and serving the interests of their families rather than the nation.

Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that although BJP's political presence in Tamil Nadu wasn't robust, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi still prioritized the state by granting a defence corridor. This gesture underscores the Prime Minister's affection and regard for Tamil Nadu. It illustrates that development transcends party lines and politics, a fact that everyone must acknowledge. Shri Rajnath Singh outlined BJP's vision for an ecosystem where youth are not just job seekers but job creators. For the first time in independent India, the number of startups has surged to 1,25,000, with the emergence of 125 unicorns. This marks a transformative stride towards empowering the youth to become creators of employment opportunities, aligning with our vision.

Shri Rajnath Singh affirmed that the government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is wholeheartedly dedicated to Tamil Nadu's development, recognizing its potential to lead India's developmental journey. Shri Rajnath Singh confirmed that the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Park, Bengaluru-Chennai expressway, and Multi-Modal Logistics Parks have received approval and clearance. These projects have either commenced or are set to begin shortly.

Shri Rajnath Singh asserted that while debates on our policies are welcome, our intentions cannot be questioned. The INDI alliance has persistently launched personal attacks on the Hon'ble Prime Minister. However, they appear to forget that the more mud they throw, the more the lotus will bloom. The INDI alliance hasn't hesitated to insult the Hindu faith, even going as far as stating their intent to destroy the 'Shakti' within it. The people of Tamil Nadu are aware of who is revered as 'Shakti' in Hinduism. Shakti signifies the power of women. In Tamil Nadu, revered figures such as Mother Mariamman, Kanchi Kamakshi, and Madurai Meenakshi embody Shakti.

Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh firmly questioned whether the INDI alliance aims to undermine 'Matri Shakti' and 'Naari Shakti'. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that from merely opposing the BJP, the alliance has resorted to insulting Hindu deities and the women of India deliberately. Shri Singh stated that even Tamil Nadu CM’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin, referred to Sanatan Dharma as 'dengue and malaria'. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that the INDI alliance also opposed the establishment of the symbol of Tamil culture, Sengol, in Parliament. Shri Singh referenced the treatment of Former CM Jayalalithaa by the DMK, emphasizing that such actions reveal the true nature of the DMK. SHRI Rajnath Singh criticized the INDI alliance and opposed the women's reservation bill in Parliament, noting the increasing crimes against mothers and sisters in Tamil Nadu. Shri Singh fondly remembered Jaya Amma (Jayalalithaa) and appreciated her efforts towards the development of Tamil Nadu. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted Tamil Nadu's legacy of producing great leaders like C. Rajagopalachari and K. Kamaraj. Shri Singh drew parallels, stating that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is continuing this legacy by empowering the weaker sections of society.

Shri Rajnath Singh stated that during the Congress government, thousands of fishermen from Tamil Nadu were arrested by Sri Lanka, and some even lost their lives. However, the BJP government utilized its strong diplomatic relations with the Sri Lankan government to assist the fishermen. Shri Rajnath Singh criticized the Congress government for committing numerous blunders, resulting in the country paying a heavy price. Shri Rajnath Singh criticized the DMK and Congress for the injustices faced by fishermen in Tamil Nadu, the losses incurred due to the Katchatheevu island, and the hardships of the fishermen community. Shri Rajnath Singh criticized the INDI alliance and questioned the INC's advocacy for the rights of Tamil people following the handover of Katchatheevu island to Sri Lanka.

Shri Rajnath Singh stated that the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu has deteriorated, with political murders occurring.  Shri Rajnath Singh remarked that the INDI alliance is not durable, as internal struggles have already begun before the elections and the only basis of the INDI alliance is power hunger. The foundation of BJP's politics is "nation first," whereas the foundation of DMK and Congress's politics is "family first." Shri Rajnath Singh stated that the BJP has a leader like PM Shri Narendra Modi, a vision for India's development, and a mission to take the country forward. In contrast, Congress lacks both energy and synergy within the INDI alliance. Shri Rajnath Singh appealed to people to vote for the BJP-led NDA for peace, stability, and prosperity.
