Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah addressed a public meeting in Katihar, Bihar on Sunday. During the event, Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, Bihar Cabinet Minister Shri Vijay Chowdhary, Lok Sabha candidate from Katihar Shri Dulal Chandra Goswami and other leaders were present on the stage. During his speech, Shri Amit Shah commended the NDA government's achievements in Bihar under the leadership of CM Shri Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Shah criticized the Congress and RJD for transforming Bihar into a state of lawlessness ‘Jungle Raj’ and engaging in dynastic politics.

Shri Shah emphasized the significance of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, urging voters to choose the Prime Minister for the next five years. Shri Shah noted the widespread chant of 'Modi-Modi' across the nation, indicating the popular support for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Amit Shah highlighted the role of Katihar voters in ensuring PM Shri Narendra Modi's third term. Under PM Modi's leadership, he stated, nepotism, casteism and appeasement have been eliminated, and development has reached every segment of society. While the Congress and Lalu Yadav's alliance made promises to eradicate poverty, it persisted until PM Shri Narendra Modi's initiatives took effect. Shri Shah outlined key achievements, including providing food grains to 80 crore people, constructing over 12 crore toilets and 4 crore houses, granting LPG connections to over 10 crore women through Ujjawala Yojana, and providing water connections to 14 crore people under the Nal Se Jal scheme. He highlighted the lifting of 25 crore people out of poverty in just 10 years under PM Shri Narendra Modi's leadership.

Union Home Minister Shri Shah highlighted the transformation in Bihar under the leadership of Shri Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister and Shri Narendra Modi as Prime Minister, contrasting it with the previous administration led by Lalu-Rabri Yadav, which he described as "Jungle Raj". He criticized the Congress for its opposition to the welfare of backward castes, mentioning its obstruction of reports like Kaka Kalelkar and the Mandal Commission. Shri Shah praised the BJP for its commitment to empowering backward classes, noting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's inclusion of 35% ministers from backward and extremely backward sections in his cabinet and the establishment of the Backward Classes Commission with constitutional status. Under PM Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, 16 new castes have been included in the OBC category, allowing them to benefit from the 27% reservation in All India Quota for MBBS, MD and Engineering courses. Additionally, reservations in admissions have been ensured for backward-class students in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas and Sainik Schools.

Shri Shah highlighted the statement of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge that, "What do Rajasthan and Bihar have to do with Jammu and Kashmir?" He emphasized that it reflects a lack of understanding. Shri Shah pointed out that every child in Bihar is ready to sacrifice their life for Kashmir, showcasing the deep emotional connection and solidarity across regions of India. He also noted that despite 70 years in power, leaders like Lalu Yadav and the Congress party did not abrogate Article 370. However, on August 5, 2019, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi took the historic step of abrogating Article 370, making Jammu and Kashmir an inseparable and integral part of India.

BJP Senoir Union Home Minister Shri Shah highlighted that under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, terrorism and naxalism have been curtailed. During the UPA government, terrorist activities were rampant, yet nobody dared to speak up. However, under PM Shri Narendra Modi's tenure, swift retaliation to attacks like Uri and Pulwama was executed within 10 days through surgical strikes and air strikes, penetrating Pakistan's territory and eliminating terrorists. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has effectively safeguarded the nation. Despite this, the INDI Alliance aims to regress Bihar to the era of lanterns. However, Shri Nitish Kumar has electrified every village and household in the state. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, every week, a new university is inaugurated, and two new colleges are established daily for the past decade. Additionally, an average of 55 patents are registered each day, fostering innovation and progress. Furthermore, the Mudra loan scheme has provided financial support to the tune of ₹1.5 lakh rupees to the underprivileged. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's efforts have not only developed the country but have also uplifted the nation as a whole.

Shri Amit Shah highlighted that during the 10-year tenure of RJD and Congress, only ₹2.8 lakh crore was allocated to Bihar. However, under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, Bihar has received a substantial allocation of ₹9.23 lakh crore for its development. Additionally, significant investments have been made in infrastructure projects, including ₹4 lakh crore for roads and bridges, ₹1 lakh crore for railway development, and ₹2,000 crore for airport development. In Katihar alone, projects totaling ₹2,500 crore have been implemented, including the construction of the Narayanpur-Purnia road, two bridges, two flyovers, and one bypass. Under various government initiatives, significant infrastructure and welfare projects have been accomplished in Katihar. These include the construction of the ₹2,000 crore, 22 km long 4-lane Sahibganj Manihari Ganga Bridge, the development of Riverfront worth ₹12 crore under the Namami Gange Yojana, and the establishment of the Katihar Engineering College. Construction of over bridges at Katihar Station, the provision of houses to 82 thousand poor individuals, and the reconstruction of Sadar Zila Hospital have been undertaken. Welfare schemes have also benefited the community, with 1 lakh 81 thousand people receiving health coverage up to ₹5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat, 4 Lakh 50 thousand women receiving gas connections under Ujjwala Yojana and 2 lakh farmers benefiting from the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Shah urged the people of Katihar, stating that aligning with Lalu Prasad Yadav's ‘lantern’ (party symbol) and Congress' ‘hand’ (party symbol) would lead to riots, oppression, injustice, poverty and hunger. However, supporting the NDA, symbolized by the lotus and arrow, would propel Bihar forward under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi and Shri Nitish Kumar's double-engine government, bringing development and prosperity. Shri Shah urged the public to vote for Shri Dulal Chand Goswami and ensure the victory of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
