Hon’ble Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation Minister and Senior BJP leader Shri Amit Shah addressed a public meeting in Dunetha, Daman on Saturday. He praised the welfare initiatives under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s leadership and criticized Congress for its corruption and divisive policies. During the event, Shri Lalubhai Patel and Smt Kalaben Delkar, along with other leaders, were present.
Union Home Minister Shri Shah stated that elections are going to be held on May 3 in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. He began his speech by paying his respects to Ram Mandir, Vasuki Nath Mandir, and Amba Mata Mandir. He also paid homage to Shri Kavi Adeshwar Khabardar and all the freedom fighters of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, these union territories have become centers of attraction in various aspects.
Respected Shri Shah stated that in the 2024 elections, the public has two options, on one side, there is Rahul Gandhi, who was born with a silver spoon and on the other side, there is Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who was born in a poor household and used to sell tea. Shri Narendra Modi, being Chief Minister and Prime Minister for 23 years, celebrated Diwali with soldiers on the border without taking a holiday, while Rahul Gandhi, who goes to Thailand and Bangkok as the heat increases. On one side, there is the Congress and the INDI Alliance, known for scams and corruption worth ₹12 lakh crore, and on the other side, there is Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, against whom there is not even an allegation of corruption. On one side, there is the Congress, which indulges in appeasement politics by encroaching upon the reservation of SC, ST, and OBCs to give it to the Muslim minority, and on the other side, there is the BJP, which is committed to protecting the reservation of SC, ST, and OBCs. The people of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu have to choose between these two options.
Shri Shah stated that wherever he goes across the country, from east to west and north to south, the name of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi resonates everywhere. The people of the country have decided to give Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi a majority of 400 seats, and it is not just about winning 400 seats, but seeing the lotus symbol against the names of Shri Lalu Patel and Smt Kalaben Mohanbhai Delkar and pressing that button to vote. The people's vote will directly make Shri Narendra Modi the Prime Minister for the third time.
Union Home Minister Shri Shah emphasized that the re-election of Shri Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third time signifies the eradication of terrorism and naxalism in India, elevating India to the position of the third-largest economy globally. It also entails providing housing for 40 million underprivileged individuals and empowering 30 million impoverished sisters as ‘Lakhpati Didis’. Furthermore, it involves offering free electricity to 100 million impoverished citizens through the Suryaghar scheme and transferring Rs. 3 lakh crore directly into the bank accounts of 110 million farmers over a span of 5 years. Shri Narendra Modi's re-election ensures the tangible realization of "Modi ki Guarantee '' on the ground, reflecting the BJP's commitment to delivering on its promises.
Hon’ble Shri Shah highlighted that Kashmir is an integral part of India, while Mallikarjun Kharge questioned the relevance of Rajasthan, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli to Kashmir. Mallikarjun Kharge doesn’t know that the youth from Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, are equally committed to Kashmir. The Congress party had for 70 years failed to effectively handle Article 370, leading to unrest and lack of development in Kashmir. However, after Shri Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, he abrogated Article 370, bringing stability and progress to the region.
Respected Shri Shah stated that in Ayodhya, the Ram Mandir issue remained unresolved under Congress rule, but within five years of Shri Narendra Modi's tenure, the case was won, Bhoomi Poojan was conducted, and the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ took place. Following the "Pran Pratishtha" invitations were extended to Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, who refrained from attending, possibly due to fear of losing their vote banks. Unlike them, the BJP does not engage in vote bank politics.
Union Home Minister Shri Shah emphasized that during his ten years as Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has significantly improved the lives of millions of impoverished individuals. He distributed 5 kg of food grains per person per month to 80 crore poor individuals, constructed 12 lakh toilets, provided housing to 4 crore people, facilitated Ujjwala connections for 10 crore people, and implemented the "Nal se Jal" scheme for 14 crore people.
Shri Shah stated that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ensured free COVID-19 vaccinations for the people of India and worked to protect the country. While Shri Narendra Modi urged people to get vaccinated, Rahul Gandhi opposed the move, calling it the "Modi vaccine." Despite this, the public ignored him and got vaccinated. Eventually, once the whole country had been vaccinated, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi quietly got their vaccines as well. They should be ashamed for playing politics even during a pandemic like COVID-19. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has worked to safeguard the lives of the poorest of the poor in the country.
Senior BJP leader Shri Shah highlighted Rahul Gandhi's current situation, noting that he used to contest elections from Amethi but, after losing to Smt Smriti Irani, he ran to Wayanad. Now, facing challenges in Wayanad, he has moved on to Raebareli. The problem is not with the constituencies, but with Rahul Gandhi himself, he will face defeat wherever he goes. In Raebareli Rahul Gandhi will lose by a significant margin. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Chandrayaan just once and it successfully landed on the moon's south pole, but Sonia Gandhi has launched Rahul Gandhi 20 times without success. His 21st attempt is also likely to end in failure.
Hon’ble Shri Shah emphasized that if the INDI alliance were to win, they do not even have a capable Prime Ministerial candidate. When journalists asked the alliance’s leaders about it, they conveyed that the alliance's leaders would rotate the position, each serving as PM for a year. Shri Shah argued that this is a question concerning India's future, not a business that the mother, son, or daughter can run in turns each year.
Union Home Minister Shri Shah highlighted that the INDI lacks a credible Prime Minister candidate, while only BJP leader Shri Narendra Modi is fit for the role. If the INDI leaders were in charge during a crisis like COVID-19, they wouldn't be able to manage it effectively. The INDI alliance leaders wouldn't be able to respond strongly to Pakistan, eliminate terrorism, or send a mission to the moon like Chandrayaan. The only achievement the INDI alliance would manage is corruption and embezzlement of ₹12 lakh crore rupees.
Shri Shah emphasized that the entire country has decided to support and re-elect Shri Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. Daman and Diu experienced delayed independence and development due to Congress. Congress did little for the region. In contrast, Shri Narendra Modi has promoted tourism by introducing a homestay culture, improving tourism ease and overseeing the construction of a new airport.
Respected Shri Shah emphasized that Diu is the first district-cum-region powered entirely by clean energy during the daytime.The region hosted multi-sport beach games with 1,600 athletes and a new 300-bed government hospital and medical college were established. Two lakh mangrove trees were planted, and a mangrove nursery was set up. Air services to Ahmedabad and Surat have facilitated and so far, 6,000 passengers have traveled. Shri Narendra Modi also introduced air services between Somnath and Daman to Mumbai.

Shri Shah urged the public to vote for BJP candidates, stating that it is equivalent to voting for Shri Narendra Modi. Voting for the ‘lotus’ symbol means electing PM Shri Narendra Modi and having him as the Prime Minister means making India the leading nation in the world.
