Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah addressed the public meetings in Ranaghat and Birbhum, West Bengal on Friday. He criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government for harboring infiltrators in the state and underscored the developmental initiatives taken by PM Shri Narendra Modi. During the event, West Bengal BJP President Shri Sukanta Kumar Majumdar, Union Minister Smt Pratima Bhoumik, BJP Lok Sabha candidates, Shri Jagannath Sarkar from Ranaghat and Shri Debtanu Bhattacharya from Birbhum, among other leaders were present.
Union Home Minister commenced his address by seeking the blessing of Kali Mandir. Congress party, Trinamool Congress and communist party stalled the construction of the Ram Mandir. Within five years of assuming office for the second time, Shri Narendra Modi not only won the legal case but also performed the Bhoomi Poojan and Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Ram. Shri Narendra Modi has undertaken various developmental initiatives benefiting 80 crore impoverished citizens of the country. Mamata Banerjee claims to distribute 5 kg of rice in Bengal, while it is Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi who is facilitating the ration supply. Under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, 12 crore toilets have been constructed, over 4 crore people have been provided with pucca homes, 10 crore people have received gas connections under the Ujjwala scheme, and 'Nal se Jal' has been provided to 14 crore people.
Shri Shah paid homage to Harichandr Thakur, Guruchandra Thakur, and Boro Maa. A large number of Matua community members have become refugees. On one hand, the Mamata government is providing shelter to infiltrators, while on the other hand, it is opposing citizenship for the Matua community. Mamata government is organizing rallies against CAA and talking about revoking it. It is a promise of the BJP to the people of West Bengal that no one has the power to touch CAA. Shri Narendra Modi has pledged to grant citizenship to each and every one of them.
Union Home Minister stated that the rivers have become hubs of corruption and illegal sand mining due to the oppressive rule of the Communist and Trinamool Congress. The syndicate led by TMC has been involved in illegal sand mining, stone quarrying, coal, and cattle smuggling. This syndicate operates under the protection of Mamata Banerjee's nephew. If BJP wins 30 seats in West Bengal, it will work to put all these syndicates behind the bars. Mamata Banerjee should not think that the syndicate will ensure her victory in the elections. A 'Bhagwa Toofan' is about to arrive and on June 4th, 30 seats from Bengal will strengthen the Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi.
Shri Shah highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has initiated numerous development projects in West Bengal. These include building 2,300 km of roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, constructing national highways, renovating railway stations. Shri Narendra Modi has also transformed Visva-Bharati University into the world's first living heritage university, adding Rabindranath Tagore's Shantiniketan to the list of world heritage sites. Medical college has been constructed in Birbhum. The Modi government has provided 37,000 homes to the poor, gas connections to 800,000 women, benefitted 900,000 people under MGNREGA and provided 5 kg of ration per month through the Pradhan Mantri Anna Yojana.
Union Home Minister emphasized that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi provided free vaccinations to the people during the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring the safety of the entire country. Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's leadership, India became the first country to reach the moon's south pole with Chandrayaan-3.
Shri Shah criticized Mamata Banerjee, stating that despite being Chief Minister for 15 years, no industrial projects were brought to Birbhum. Mamata Banerjee started her political journey from Birbhum. Localites here have to go out for employment, there is no access to drinking water, healthcare facilities are lacking, and despite being home to Shakti Peeth and five Mahadevs, there is no sign of tourism development. After winning 30 seats in Bengal, BJP will ensure that all stalled development projects in Birbhum are completed. The meaning of TMC is perceived as "Tushtikaran", "Mafia," and "Corruption." With the slogan "Maa, Mati, Manush," Mamata Banerjee became the Chief Minister of Bengal, but due to appeasement, the slogan has transformed into "Mullah, Madrasa and Mafia." Muslims are given free rein, our wealth is given to Madrasas, and the Mafia is allowed to openly exploit the poor. These actions of Mamata Banerjee will no longer be tolerated.
Union Home Minister stated that Mamata Banerjee opposes the CAA merely for her vote bank. Over the years, Mamata Banerjee has destroyed Bengal. Problems such as cut money, extortion, infiltration, bomb blasts and incidents like Sandeshkhali must be stopped. Mamata Banerjee should be ashamed that, as a woman Chief Minister, she allowed her own party leaders to exploit women based on religion for years. The CBI is investigating and the women of Bengal need not worry, the BJP government will take action against the Sandeshkhali criminals.
Hon’ble Shri Shah stated that Mamata Banerjee has engaged in massive corruption in Bengal, with ₹50 crores found in the house of one of her ministers. This ₹50 crores belong to the poor youth of Ranaghat. The Congress party and Mamata Banerjee have committed scams, fraud and corruption totaling ₹12 lakh crores. Those who engage in corruption will not be spared and the BJP will ensure all those involved are put behind bars. There have been scams in ration distribution, municipal recruitment, teachers and civil service hiring. There have also been scams in cow and coal smuggling. Mamata Banerjee's government is ranked as the number one corrupt government in the country.
Shri Shah emphasized that bomb blasts are Mamata Banerjee's tactic to instill fear. He assured the public that the Election Commission has deployed central forces, so there's no need for people to be afraid. Mamata Banerjee's goons lack the courage to stop people from voting.
Union Home Minister highlighted that AICC National President Mallikarjun Kharge claims that Jammu and Kashmir and Bengal are unrelated. Perhaps he is unaware that every child in the country, including Bengal, is ready to sacrifice their life for Kashmir. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has eradicated terrorism from the country by revoking Article 370. Only the BJP can turn West Bengal into 'Sonar Bangla.'
Shri Shah asserted that once the BJP wins over 30 seats in Bengal, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will put an end to bomb blasts, eliminate corruption and implement the CAA law in the state. Shri Shah appealed to the public to support BJP candidates and elect Shri Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for a third term.
