Hon’ble Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah gave a statement to ANI and commented on the Bengal High Court's decision regarding OBC reservation. Shri Amit Shah welcomed the court's ruling, highlighting that Mamata Banerjee provided OBC reservation to 118 Muslim communities without conducting any backwardness survey. A petition was filed against this and the court, acknowledging it, has ordered the suspension of all certificates issued by the Mamata Banerjee government from 2010 to 2024.

Shri Shah stated "Mamata Banerjee has manipulated reservations meant for the backward classes to favor Muslims. I appreciate the High Court's ruling on OBC reservation. However, Mamata Banerjee claims she doesn't acknowledge it. I question the people of Bengal: Can a Chief Minister, despite holding a constitutional position, disregard the orders of the High Court? The current state of democracy in Bengal is concerning. I strongly denounce this. We will ensure the High Court's decision is enforced, prioritizing the rights of the backward classes, not for appeasement or political gains, but to genuinely aid those in need. Similarly, the Congress party is also tampering with OBC reservation in Telangana and Karnataka. In Bengal, Mamata Banerjee is also diverting the rights of SC and ST by favoring Muslims. BJP opposes this as the Constitution doesn't allow reservation based on religion."

Addressing the vandalism of Ramakrishna Mission assets, Shri Amit Shah stated that the Bharat Sevashram Sangha is the reason why West Bengal remains a part of India today. Perhaps Mamata Banerjee is unaware that if it weren't for the founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Swami Pranavananda Ji, then West Bengal would have been a part of Bangladesh. However, today, Mamata Banerjee is defaming the organizations like Bharat Sevashram Sangha, ISKCON and Ramakrishna Mission to appease Muslim voters. Today, Mamata Banerjee is solely attempting to damage the reputation of these institutions to secure electoral victories. In contrast, Ramakrishna Mission is actively involved in education, healthcare and numerous projects in the remote forests of the Northeast. Yet, Mamata Banerjee persists in targeting these institutions, engaging in the politics of appeasement. I strongly condemn this and I appeal to the people of Bengal to carefully consider if Mamata Banerjee's allegations against these esteemed institutions for the sake of vote bank politics merit serious thought.
