Hon’ble National President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda addressed public meetings in Kinnaur, Mandi and Shimla, Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. During the event, Himachal Pradesh BJP President Shri Rajeev Bindal, senior BJP leader Shri Surat Negi, BJP District President Shri Yashwant Negi, Lahaul-Spiti State Assembly candidate Shri Ravi Thakur, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sikander Kumar and other leaders were present.
Shri Nadda expressed gratitude for the public's love and enthusiasm. He emphasized that from an electoral perspective, it is evident that the public has embraced the ‘Lotus’ symbol in the election. Shri Nadda urged voters to encourage others from different villages to exercise their voting rights. He stressed that the public should vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party because, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the nature, definition and culture of politics have transformed. Ten years ago, the public was disillusioned by a corrupt government system, with daily headlines filled with corruption. The common sentiment was one of despair, thinking that ‘Nothing will change.’ However, in the last decade, under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, politics has changed significantly. Shri Nadda reminded the public that on June 1, when they vote for the BJP, they will be voting for the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Unlike previous leaders who sought votes based on religion, caste and region, however the BJP under Modi’s leadership, asks for votes based solely on ‘Vikasvaad’.
Hon’ble BJP National President stated that there has been a significant shift towards development, accountability-focused and report card politics, ‘Jo Kaha Vo Kiya Aur Jo Nahi Kaha Vo Bhi Kar Ke Diya’. India has surged ahead under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. After the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the economies of America, Europe, China and Japan are wavering. However, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India's economy has ascended from the 11th to the 5th position. If the people re-elect Shri Modi Narendra Ji as Prime Minister for the third time, India will emerge as the world's third-largest economic power within three years.
Shri Nadda emphasized that in India, it took 25-28 years for Tuberculosis medication, 30 years for Diphtheria treatment, 25-30 years for Tetanus remedy, and a century for Japanese Fever cure to be developed. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, with Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji's leadership, India swiftly developed two vaccines within 9 months of the first case registered on January 27, 2020. The country then efficiently administered 220 crore double doses of the vaccine, safeguarding the health of 140 crore citizens. India has emerged as the world's second-largest producer and distributor of medicines, offering some of the most affordable and efficacious treatments globally. Through its COVID-19 vaccination efforts, India has supplied vaccines to 100 countries worldwide and generously provided free vaccines to 48 nations as part of the Vaccine Maitri initiative. India's transformation from a recipient of aid to a proactive provider underscores its growing role as a global contributor.
Hon’ble BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted the remarkable progress in the petrochemical sector, witnessing an impressive growth of 106%. Additionally, India has secured the second position in steel production. India emerged as the third-largest toy industry and automobile sector in the world. A decade ago, mobile phones used to be labeled 'Made in China', but today, 97 percent are produced in India with the mark 'Made in India'. This transformation underscores India's evolving identity. Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, there is a Majboot Sarkaar in India. The long-standing issue of "One Rank One Pension" was addressed by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji in 2015 after assuming power in 2014, with an allocation of ₹1.25 lakh to the soldiers. During the previous government, when shots were fired at the border, the order would be not to retaliate, but under Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's government, soldiers are ordered to give a befitting reply as long as bullets are fired. After the Uri and Pulwama attacks, surgical strikes and air strikes were conducted, hitting the enemy within their own territory.
Shri Nadda highlighted India's humanitarian efforts under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji. He mentioned instances such as providing aid to Nepal during the earthquake and extending assistance to countries like Fiji, Madagascar, Maldives and Turkey during various crises. India, under Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's leadership, has emerged as a beacon of hope for the world.
Hon’ble BJP National President highlighted that previously, bulletproof jackets for military personnel were imported, but now India not only manufactures them but also exports them. Moreover, fighter planes and helicopters are being domestically produced. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has redefined the concept; earlier Chitkul might have been considered the last village of India, but now it proudly stands as the first village of India. The Modi government has allocated ₹7,500 crore for the development of villages under the Vibrant Village Programme. Additionally, hundreds of kilometers of roads along the border have been constructed, equipped with double lanes and bridges. Under the Congress government, there was a fear that constructing roads along the border would make it easier for enemies to enter. However, the BJP government, under Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's leadership, does not harbor such apprehensions.
Shri Nadda emphasized that villages have experienced empowerment with the extension of WiFi connectivity, enabling internet access in rural areas. Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, internet connectivity has been extended to over 2 lakh panchayats, and approximately 2 lakh villages have been equipped with common service centers. Through common service centers, people in Himachal Pradesh can access information about fruit rates in mandi across the country, which proves helpful not only for trading but also for educational purposes. In the past, the Congress used to argue that India was largely illiterate, questioning the relevance of internet connectivity and optical fiber networks. However, today, even roadside vegetable sellers are embracing digital payment methods, showcasing the widespread adoption of technology across all sectors of society. Today, India accounts for 40% of digital payments globally.
Hon’ble BJP National President highlighted the achievements under the BJP government, noting that concrete roads now extend to every village. Over 1 lakh kilometers of roads have been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, including 17,000 kilometers in Himachal Pradesh alone. Previously, under the Indira Awas Yojana, only two houses were allocated per panchayat, but under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji's leadership, 40 to 50 houses are being built in each panchayat, totaling 4 crore houses nationwide. Following BJP candidates' victories, an additional 3 crore houses will be constructed over the next 5 years. Additionally, everyone's electricity bill will be reduced to zero through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, where each household will receive ₹75,000 to install solar energy systems. Citizens will only pay for their electricity usage, while any surplus electricity will be bought by the government. The Ujjwala Yojana isn't merely a scheme, it's about empowering women. This initiative has extended gas connections to up to 10 crore people. Similarly, under the 'Har Ghar Nal, Har Ghar Jal' Yojana, 11 crore people have gained access to clean water, profoundly impacting their lives.
Shri Nadda mentioned that more than 80 crore people across the country benefit from receiving 5 kg of wheat, 5 kg of rice and 1 kg of pulses. Among these beneficiaries, almost 11 lakhs are from Himachal Pradesh alone. This initiative has contributed to lifting approximately 25 crore people above the poverty line. Previously, 12 crore women had to defecate openly, but Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has constructed "Izzat Ghar" (toilets), safeguarding the dignity of these 12 crore individuals. Shri Nadda mentioned that Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has sent ₹1,782 crore to the state for flood relief purpose. More than ₹2,500 crore was allotted for the expansion of rural roads under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana and also allocated funds to construct 11,000 more houses. However, the state government has halted the schemes.
Hon’ble BJP National President highlighted that Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has introduced a groundbreaking initiative under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, providing ₹5 lakh annually for the treatment of serious illnesses, making it the world's largest health coverage program for 50 crore impoverished individuals. Shri JP Nadda mentioned that under the Sukhu-led Congress government, the ₹200 crore Himcare payment to hospitals remains unpaid, leading to outstanding electricity bills. He assured that this issue will be addressed post-election, indicating uncertainty regarding the government's tenure. In the BJP's forthcoming term over the next 5 years, every individual in the country aged 70 and above will receive ₹5 lakh annually for the treatment of serious illnesses under Ayushman Bharat, irrespective of caste, class, or religion. These measures signify a transformative and forward-looking India, driving positive change and advancement across the nation.
Shri Nadda emphasized the comprehensive development unfolding in Himachal Pradesh, with the construction of national highways and the establishment of key educational and healthcare institutions. Notably, an IIM and IIFT has been set up in Himachal, along with an AIIMS in Bilaspur and a Super Speciality Block in Shimla. Moreover, hospital infrastructure is being enhanced in Kinnaur. Under Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's leadership, Himachal's progress has been advanced while considering the welfare of its people from every angle.
Hon’ble BJP National President underscored that while under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India is progressing ahead, on the other hand, there are alliances like the Indi Alliances, which are essentially platforms for corrupt individuals. The Congress party has been embroiled in numerous scandals, including the coal scam, sugar scam, rice scam, 2G scam, 3G scam, submarine scam, and helicopter scam. Lalu Yadav has been implicated in the fodder scam, Alkatra scam and land-for-jobs scandal. Mamata Banerjee has faced allegations in the teacher recruitment scandal, with cash discovered at her residence. Additionally, a Congress minister's PA servant was found with ₹29 crores at his house, while a Congress MLA was discovered with over ₹365 crores in cash, requiring over three days and 18 machines to count. Arvind Kejriwal has been accused of involvement in scandals related to alcohol and medicine procurement.
Shri Nadda stated that several prominent INDI Alliance leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, P Chidambaram, Karti Chidambaram, Arvind Kejriwal and Lalu Yadav are out on bail, while others like Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, Azam Khan, TMC and DMK leaders are currently in jail. Half of the INDI leaders are in jail, while the other half are out on bail. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi initiative, 11 crore 78 lakh farmers received ₹2,000 every four months directly in their bank accounts. Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, more than ₹365 crore were spent digitally for the treatment of poor people. The Congress party is going to rob the reservation of the tribals. Congress wants to give reservations on the basis of religion, which is not permitted by our constitution. Baba Saheb Ambedkar ensured that reservation should be provided on a demographic basis. However, the Congress party wants to take away the reservation of Adivasis, Dalits and OBC and give it to Muslim minorities. The Congress already implemented it in Karnataka. Shri Nadda stated that by the year 2027-28 there will be 33% participation of women in Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.
Hon’ble BJP National President appealed to the public to vote for leaders who can significantly advance development in the region. He urged the public to support Mandi Lok Sabha candidate Sushri Kangana Ranaut and Lahaul-Spiti by-election candidate Shri Ravi Thakur. Shri Nadda emphasized the importance of voting for the 'Lotus' symbol to ensure “Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar.”
