I am sad to learn that former Rashtrapati Shri Narayanan is no more. I offer condolences to Mrs. Narayanan and other members of family.
Three days back when I called at the Army Referral Hospital to enquire about Shri Narayanan’s health there still seemed some little hope that he may tide over this crises.
In Shri Narayanan’s passing away the country has lost an able administrator who late came to adorn the highest constitutional office the nation could confer on him. Whether as a Foreign Service official, or as a President, Shri Narayanan served the country with distinction. I pay my respectful homage to the departed soul.
