Points made by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, former President of the BJP while intervening in debate on political resolution

 

• Congress led UPA failed on all fronts. Be it tackling price rise, reviving economy, farmers suicides, foreign policy, unemployment, protecting women, fighting corruption, containing terrorism, getting back black money stashed abroad.

• This is the worst, incompetent, inefficient, weak, meek government in the history of the country. People are waiting to throw this government out.

• In the present regime, nobody is safe; nobody is happy - be it farmers, women, youth, poor, small traders.

• The UPA which was DPA (Divided Progressive Alliance) has now become NPA (Non-Performing Alliance)

• Congress does not know how to run a coalition. It does not follow coalition dharma.

• UPA inherited a robust economy from NDA in 2004.

• The initial growth under the UPA was because of the good work done, foundations laid, schemes initiated by Shri Vajpayee led NDA. They enjoyed the fruits of developments of NDA in the first five years without doing anything and in the remaining four years, they have bankrupted the economy of the country. That’s why this 1990 like situation in the economy.

• The Congress government devalued and discredited every institution. Misused and abused various government agencies to harass political opponents, to tap telephones of the leaders, keep allies under control, win over the neutrals as and when necessary. Otherwise this government would have gone long back.

• They tried to cover up every scam and protected every scamster. Some ministers are in jail, some are out on bail and some are facing trail.

• In UPA, Right hand proposes, Left opposes and Mind disposes. Pranab Babu proposes, Chidambaram opposes and PM disposes. Industry proposes and environment disposes (Jairam Ramesh). One step forward, three steps backwards and made country’s situation awkward.

• SIMI, ULFA, SULFA, Naxals, JKLF, Khalistan, Bindranwale, insurgency are all the offshoots of their misrule and now they dare to accuse us. What a shame?

• 26/11 happened during UPA regime. Terrorists are striking time and again. Condolence for the dead compensation for survived is UPA’s policy. Yasin Mallick goes to Pak, shares dais with Hafeez Sayyeed. The Congress government dares not to touch him.

• Home Minister made a stupid statement saying we train terrorists. RSS, the foremost nationalist organization, stands Ready for Self-less Service.

• During our regime, Parliament attackers were finished then and there only. Masterminds were tried in one year and sentenced – UPA took 11 years to hang them.

• Afzal Guru is guru for some of them. Aatankavadi is aadarshavadi for them. They visit Batla House encounter families…go to Azamgarh, call Kasab Mr. Kasab, Bin Laden Shri Ladenji. Home Minister calls Hafeez Sayyeed as Sri Hafeez Sayyeed and they allege we are training terrorists. We want to finish terror with iron hand.

Congress will be out, no doubt.

• Congress’ much touted Cash transfer will finally lead to regime transfer. Aadhar will not get them Janadhar. They will end as ‘Niradhar’.

• Whenever General Elections are held – 2013 or 2014 - under the present leader or the so-called youth leader, Congress will be out and there is no doubt.

• Under NDA it was Swarna Yuga. Development was our Mantra. No lines, No queues, No shortages, No wait-lists. Highest Forex reserves, lowest inflation, rupee was strong. India was made stronger (Nuclear tests).

• Air connectivity, road connectivity, rail connectivity, port connectivity – it was connectivity revolution then.

• Even under the UPA regime, whether it is 20-point programme, poverty alleviation, PMGSY, Anthyodaya, Agriculture – you name any programme – BJP ruled states are on top.

• Be proud of Narendra Bhai, Shivraj, Raman, Manohar, Shettar, Dhumal, Nitish and Sushil. They have done and are doing great job.

What is the alternative?

• Some talk of third alternative. Discredited and disgruntled leaders cannot provide alternatives. Left supported Congress for 5 years. SP, BSP, DMK for ten years. How can these parties which were/are part of corrupt and anti-people regime offer alternative. It will be a disaster.

• DMK calls FDI as ‘Foreign Direct Invasion’. SP Calls it as ‘another East India Company’. BSP says ‘nothing but total roll back’ and then in the evening they vote with the government.

• Morning talk-out, afternoon walk-out and evening bail- out is their programme. These parties cannot be relied upon. When Sri Lankan Tamils were massacred they were silent now after everything is over they are violent (verbally).

• They are equally responsible for the failures, scams and scandals of UPA. Because of their support only this government is surviving.

• We have seen in the past. National Front became a Notional Front. United Front became a Divided Front. Third Front is a mirage (Mrigathrushna). Tried and failed experiment. Sri Deve Gowda, Sri Gujaral experiments cannot be forgotten.

• Country needs an able leader with a stable government to put back the economy and development on rails.

• NDA means National Development Alliance. Development is our Mantra. Country needs development. Bring back NDA’s development agenda.

• The only alternative is BJP. People want BJP to come back. Sushasan Sankalp – BJP Vikalp.

• People are asking us whether we are ready. We must tell them – yes, we are ready.

• On one hand, propagate BJP’s ideology which is Sri Rama Raksha for the countrty and on the other, recall the good work done by Shri Atal – Advani led NDA.

• Let us go to the people highlighting the achievements of the NDA and performance of our State governments and also with a charge-sheet about the failures of the Congress-led UPA government.

• Go to every village, walk in every street, knock every door, talk to every citizen and remind them of BJP’s ideology and NDA’s good work and seek their blessings.

• Remember what Advaniji used to say always that ‘we are a party with a difference’. And people expect us to be so. We must live up to their expectations. See how he is going around the country even at this age. He is more active than many of us. He is embodiment of ethics, commitment and integrity. We are fortunate to have a leader, guide and philosopher like him.

• Let us remember the sacrifices of Shama Prasad Mukherjeeji, Deendayalji, Nanaji, Bhandariji, Kushabhauji and let us resolve to introspect and correct ourselves whereever necessary.

• Dynasty is nasty in democracy, but it is tasty to Congress now.

• We need a leader with character, caliber, capacity, discipline, dynamism, experience and exposure in public life. We have enough of them.

• Let us remember what Swamy Vivekananda said – Arise, awake, stop not till you reach your goal. And the goal now is ‘throw this anti-people government out’.
• My call to party leaders and cadres is to focus more attention on South and East regions and take up massive campaigns with the slogan ‘BJP for Parliament’ because people want a national and nationalist party to lead the nation. “March forward - Victory is ours.”
