Preparations for the forthcoming general elections are in full-swing at BJP. Agenda for the next six months were finalised at the meeting of the national executive and state presidents held today. The party formalised an ambitious plan to reach out to the country's 70 crore electorate.
Under this "Visit a village, visit a home" initiative the party cadre will target each village, township and home in a phased manner. They will hold discussions with people and enlighten them on how Congress governments are responsible for price rise, corruption and unemployment as well as anti-farmer and anti-labour policies.
The cadre will also will also present to the people the performance of the NDA dispensation under Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the good governance provided by the BJP and its NDA allies in the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Goa, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Punjab. The programme will have the involvement of everyone from the National President to booth committees to millions of party cadres.
The formation of all booth committees in all Lok Sabha constituencies will be completed with new members, with preference being given to the youth and women. Assemblies of cadres working at these booths will be held in all Lok Sabha constituencies. As part of yet another decision, huge public rallies will be organised in all states with participation by the party's national level leaders.
The party's varying aspects and programmes were dicussed at length in the open house held today. The organisational meeting was chaired by Shri Ramlal, while dicussions were led by Shri Anant Kumar. Gujarat Chief Minister and Member of the Party Parliamentary Board Shri Narendra Modi also provided his guidance to today's meeting. In his speech Shri Modi stressed on the preparations for the forthcoming polls and highlighted the importance of using social media to reach out to the country's youth.
He also shared anecdotes from his experiences in Gujarat with the audience.
