The US ambassador to India Ms Nancy J Powell today called on the BJP President Shri Rajnath Singh at his residence in New Delhi. The meeting lasted for nearly 70 minutes in which Shri Singh highlighted the significance of warm and cordial bilateral ties between both the countries.

Sharing his views on a wide range of issues Shri Singh emphasized the need to increase mutual cooperation and collaboration. Keeping in mind the proposed withdrawal of NATO forces from Afghanistan beginning in 2014 he also expressed his concerns over the evolving security scenario in the South Asian region. Other prominent issues that figured in the discussion were the menace of terrorism, FDI in retail, partnership in trade and technology.

Mr. Chad thornberry, Mr. A. Sukesh, Shri Vijay Jolly, Convener, Overseas/Foreign Affairs of BJP,  Dr. Sudhansu Trivedi, Political advisor to BJP National President were also present there.
