BJYM Challenges Pro-Pakistan Separatist Yasin Malik

Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur, BJYM National President and Member of Parliament from Hamirpur Himachal Pradesh has said that the Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha will not allow Yasin Malik to hold a fast at Jantar Mantar and strongly opposes the Government’s timid decision to provide him a platform for publicity in the national capital.

Sh. Thakur said that the BJYM will hold a massive protest if the permission given to Yasin Malik to hold a fast at Jantar Mantar is not cancelled with immediate effect. He said that Malik was a pro-Pakistan separatist who must be jailed rather than be welcomed to voice his anti-India rant in the national capital. He added that Malik had a past record of terrorist activities and who was recently seen openly sharing dais with 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed, the man whose sinister plot claimed 166 lives innocent lives. Sh. Thakur said that separatists like Malik were being treated like state guests by the Indian Government, which had spent over Rs 9 crores on providing them a security cover.

Sh. Thakur asked till when the Government would allow nationalists to be handcuffed and jailed when they wanted to unfurl the national flag at Lal Chowk but lay the red carpet for terrorists and separatists in the name of democracy. He said that the Congress led-UPA Government was soft on terror as a result this had emboldened the spirit of terrorists and separatists alike.

Sh. Thakur said that the Government on one hand throws out Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare for protesting against corruption but allows anti-nationals to fast for Afzal Guru? He questioned what morality a human rights violator like Yasin Malik had to talk about human rights for a tried, convicted and dead terrorist? He asked why Malik never talked about the martyred CRPF men, the thousands of Kashmiri Pandits who were ousted from their homes and the slain Sarpanches in the valley. Sh. Thakur said that the Home Ministry must enlighten the nation as to why it was convinced about Yasin Malik’s intentions while giving him a security clearance that permitted him a platform in the national capital to voice his anti-India views.

Sh. Thakur went onto say that the Indian state had become so weak that it feared these separatists as a result had to harbor them and their demand for a hero’s status for a man who had attacked the greatest symbol of Indian democracy. Sh. Thakur asked, which self respecting nation in the world would allow separatists to sympathize with a convicted terrorist in the name of democracy?

Sh. Thakur said that India is increasingly being seen as a soft state which routinely bows to external threats, terrorists and traitors. He said that the Congress led UPA Government has not only mismanaged the foreign policy of India but also lacks the courage and leadership to deal sternly with separatists within our borders. This comes at a time when the nation is outraged over the gross injustice and inhuman treatment meted out to an Indian citizen in Pakistani captivity. The death of Sarabjit Singh, who hails from the land of Bhagat Singh is nothing short of a cold blooded murder by the state of Pakistan. Today India has lost an Indian citizen whom the Pakistani authorities tried in a kangaroo court and later butchered to death. Sh. Thakur said that expecting Pakistan to follow the due process of law was like living in a fool’s paradise. He strongly opposed and criticized Pakistans attempt to equate Sarabjit’s death with convicted terrorists like Ajmal Kasab and Afzal Guru. He added that the Indian Government had for years failed to secure Sarabjits release, his safety and later assure him proper medical attention. The Government must answer how long it will continue with its soft approach and diplomacy of appeasement. Sh Thakur further said that time and again Pakistan had shown complete disrespect not only our soldiers and citizens but also cared little for the lives of their own citizens as a result what could be expected of such a state?

Sh. Thakur added that not only were we ill equipped to deal with internal threats but also those emanating from across our border with China. It took the Indian authorities a Chinese incursion of 19km into our land to realize the gravity of the threat at our border. He said that the Chinese troops stationed in camps in Ladakh were unlikely to fall back without coercive diplomacy and the strengthening of our border apparatus. He had highlighted the same during his tour of border areas during the 50th year remembrance celebrations of the 1962 war.

Sh. Thakur said that India was desperately seeking a new leadership that would provide swift and stern action vis- vis in its dealing with external and internal threats.
