The Bharatiya Janata Party slams the Congress efforts in Kerala, to hide the truth by not acting on the recommendations of Justice Thomas Joseph Commission report, which has exposed the communal politics played by both UDF and LDF in 2003 Marad Massacre. In January 2002, communal violence erupted after small issue but in May 2003, it was full fledged attack by conspiracy on local fishermen, 8 of whom where killed. The commission report which was submitted in late February 2006, is gathering dust in secretariat of Kerala. This act of hiding the report is a joint mission of UDF and LDF to appease a particular vote bank. The BJP demands immediate CBI inquiry into the Marad Massacre.

The commission has found that the Marad Massacre was a planned conspiracy involving extremist organisations, which were funded from abroad. The report has also disapproved the UDF govt's argument for not having the CBI probe due to procedural impossibility. This has vindicated BJP's stand on the issue right from the beginning. The BJP condemns the Congress Govt. for betraying on its promise of taking immediate action against the guilty after the submission of the report.

The real reason for not making public the findings of the commission are purely political. The NDF an outfit having links with ISI is supporting tacitly UDF while PDP led by Sh. Madani and Jamait –e –Islam are directly supporting LDF.
