New Delhi, 18 February. The state BJP state president Shri Adesh Gupta and senior party leader Shri Manjinder Singh Sirsa, today said in Punjab the referendum issue in 2020 by khalistan supporters was not supported then and now the AAP by raising it today again is indulging in anti-national activity which has been rejected by khalistani leader himself now.

 

At a joint press conference here today, the BJP leaders alleged that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal by raising the issue of referendum 2020 has only himself exposed his anti national mindset and policies.  While cautioning people’s of Punjab against this dangerous design of AAP and its leaders, they urged them to bring the nationalist and biggest supporter of country’s unity, BJP, to power in the state.  The BJP national spokesperson Shri Gopal Krishna Agarwal and state media head Shri Naveen Kumar Jindal were present at the dais with two leaders.

 

Shri Adesh Gupta  gave detailed description of various schemes initiated by the Modi government for Punjab and added there are schemes worth crores of rupees being started for overall development of Punjab and welfare of its people. He mentioned ghar ghar saaf pani and PM awaas yojna in this context and added that transport and railway ministries have done works worth crores of rupees so that transportation becomes easy and smooth and people in the state get more jobs.

 

While charging the Congress, he said its party government never implemented centre’s development and welfare policies in the state properly due to which a large section of people there could not benefit from it.  He said people in Punjab this time must bring BJP government so that they benefit from the double engine government.

 

Shri Sirsa appealed to Punjabis that they should this time vote for the BJP for overall development of the state so that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi, state could be freed from drugs, debt and unemployment.  While describing about several works done in eight years of Shri Modi Government for Sikhs, he claimed the kind of work that Shri Modi has done has for Sikhs and Punjabiyat has not been done by any government after independence.

 

He said even at the time of country’s division Congress never tried to bring Guru Nanak birth place in India and later during the wars of 1965 and 1971 too, lost this opportunity. He alleged it was during Congress regime that Sikhs biggest religious place Akal takht was attacked whereas Shri Modi and his ministers always bow in front of it and pray for Punjab’s well being.

 

Shri Sirsa said the way Shri Modi understands Sikhs feelings and work accordingly, the same kind of feeling no other leader or the party has.  This is the reason that in Punjab Akalis, Congress and AAP are together opposing the BJP. He further said for the betterment of Punjab it is important there should be BJP government in Border States so that people get benefit development in every sector.
