Union Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman Condemned the Tamil Nadu Hooch Tragedy

 

Union Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman stated that more than 200 people are still in hospital in a critical stage, 56 people have died and most of whom who died are from the scheduled caste. I am shocked by the incident, I condemn the incident. But I am even more shocked that the Congress party has not uttered a word against this. In a state which doesn’t have prohibition, where licensed liquor is available from shops which are run by the government of Tamil Nadu, called 'Tasmac'.  In spite of that, in the middle of the city, in the heart of the city, in Kallakurichi, illicitate liquor and completely chemical liquor is served to people and 56 people have died, all belonging to poor Scheduled Caste families.

 

Smt Sitharaman questioned, where is the Congress party’s President Mallikarjun Kharge? Has he no sympathy or care for the people living in Tamil Nadu? Has he no care for the Scheduled Castes of Tamil Nadu?

 

Smt Sitharaman questioned,where is Rahul Gandhi? He talks about North and South, he talks about votes of the South, he contests election just because he is assured that he will be winning and then he goes to the South. But today when his alliance partner in Tamil Nadu, DMK-ruled government has just looked the other way when Dalits are dying because of spurious liquor, not a statement comes from both Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. Where are they? Why are they not giving a statement? I demand that this whole matter be given to the CBI for investigation and immediately the Congress Party should pay attention to Tamil Nadu and not ignore it just because their party’s alliance partners run the state.

 

The Congress thinks that they need the Tamils only for their votes and don’t need to care about them afterwards. Congress party’s indifference for the welfare of the Tamil Nadu people has now come out very clearly. They don’t mind deaths, they don’t mind illegal activities which are sponsored and supported, obviously by the ruling party. And the government there is completely looking the other way and not taking any action. So the Congress party is happy that nobody is talking about it in Northern India and the national press. We would like to draw the attention of the Congress party to say: Are you so indifferent to the lives of Tamil Nadu? Don’t you care about the Scheduled Castes in Tamil Nadu? Do you just want the votes from there and you will not have a question to ask of your alliance party, which is the DMK.

 

In Tamil, ‘K’ stands for ‘Khall’. Khall is that which is done stealthily. So, Khall Kazhagam, Khall Saaraya Kazhagam meaning, that Kazhagam (DMK) is nothing but, dealing with Khall (which is the stealthily made) Sarayam (illicit liquor). DMK is nowKhall Saraaya Kazhagam rather than a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
