Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha to pool-in ideas for the National Youth Policy

New Delhi, June 08, 2022:TheBhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the BJP, has launched “Yuva Bharat Ki Yuva Neeti” - a Nationwide consultation campaign to encourage and compile ideas and suggestions for the National Youth Policy (NYP) for the upcoming decade.

The nation, in the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has seen unprecedented focus of the Government towards youth development and empowerment. The aspiration of the nation's youth has got new wings in form of supportive policies of the government in fields of education, leadership and entrepreneurship. Be it Startup India or New Education Policy or Khelo India or Skill India, the youth of India has experienced a new paradigm of opportunities. The nation of the youth is steadily turning from employment seekers to employment generators. There has been a substantive increase of youth involvement in the governance and administrative structures. For continuing the pace of this focused development, the country required a new National Youth Policy.

For the same, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of India has drafted a new National Youth Policy (NYP) and has uploaded it for public consultation, inviting suggestions and opinions from citizens. The NYP is divided into six core categories - education; employment & entrepreneurship; youth leadership & development, health; fitness & sports, and social justice.

Welcoming this move by the ministry, the BJYM has launched the Yuva Bharat Ki Yuva Neeti program to take this opportunity to a large number ofyouth. The BJYM is reaching out to young citizens and asking them to contribute through physical meetings and social media channels. The BJYM Karyakartashave been asked to organize small discussions at the local level to gather their opinions on the draft policy. Individuals can also share their suggestions/ideas through an online form.

The BJYM has also partnered with various public policy institutes and individuals to set up a central team of 15 young public policy professionals. The central team will review the policy, refine suggestions and collate a document comprising aspirations, vision, and expectations of the youth.

Participants with substantive contributions will get a certificate of contribution and also selected participants will get a chance to accompany BJYM National President and Lok Sabha MP Shri Tejasvi Surya for discussions on youth policy with relevant stakeholders. 

BJYM National President Tejasvi Surya who is spearheading this exercise termed this a “great opportunity to be a part of the decision-making process in the New India under Modiji.” and mentioned “BJYM is committed to playing a significant role in shaping youth centric policies which can further empower youth of the country.”

The entire exercise is coordinated by the Policy, Research, and Training (PRT) Division of BJYM. Varun Jhaveri, the National Incharge of PRT Division said that “we have already started receiving a large number of suggestions and ideas. This enthusiasm shown by the youth of our nation is a classic example of participative governance as envisioned by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri NarendraModiJi.”
