Press Release by BJP National Media Head, Shri Anil Baluni

    Today there was widespread demonstration across the country against the condemnable incidents of attack and stone throwing by goons of TMC on National President of BJP Shri Amit Shah in Kolkata roadshow yesterday.

    Today the National President Shri Amit Shah addressed a crowded Press Conference and said that the incidents of yesterday have proved that Mamata Banerjee is throttling democracy in West Bengal. He said that the manner, in which people turned out at the 7 KM roadshow of our National President was unprecedented and gave strong indications that the time of Mamata Banerjee rule is over.

    A massive demonstration was held at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar against the attack on Shri Amit Shah’s roadshow in Kolkata. In this demonstration thousands of people including office bearers of BJP took part. In this demonstration Defence Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister Dr, Jitendra Singh, Union Minister Vijay Goyal and many senior party leaders also participated.

    In West Bengal at many places party karyakartas took silent processions and took pledge to root out the undemocratic Government of Mamata Banerjee.

    There is widespread anger against the goons of Mamata Banerjee. Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley, Defence Minsiter Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Railway Minister Shri Piyush Goyal and other party functionaries condemned attack on Shri Amit Shah.

    Shiv Sena and JD(U) and other constituents of NDA also criticised it and termed it as unprecedented.

    Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath ji, former Chief Minister of MP Shri Shivraj Singh, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji, Chief Minister of Jharkhand Shri Raghubar Das ji, Chief Minister of Haryana Shri Manohar Lal Khattar ji, Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijaybhai Rupani ji and former Chief Minister Shri Raman Singh ji addressed media at different places and termed attack on Shri Amit Shah as a black chapter on democracy. They were of the view that the people of state are ready for a change in the state Government.

    In Lucknow Party Vice President Shri JPS Rathore ji and Pradesh Mahamantri Vidyasagar Sonkar ji led a procession against yesterday’s incident. In Ranchi, Jharkhand a protest march was taken out under senior Party leader and Minister Shri CP Singh. In MP senior party leader Shri Uma Shankar Gupta addressed a press conference and led a massive procession in Bhopal. In Rajasthan a protest march was taken out unde Shri Madan Lal Saini. In Karnataka senior party leader Shri R Ashok led a protest march in Bengaluru.  In Panchkula Shri state party president Shri Subhash Barala and in Shimla BJP’s vice president Shyam Jaju led a procession and offered Dharana. In Goa there was a protest march in Panjim against yesterday’s cowardly attack on Shri Amit Shah ji’s roadshow.
