Press Release by BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda

Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda today severely criticized West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee for not attending today's Centenary Celebrations of Vishwa Bharti University.

Shri Nadda termed the absence of Mamata Banerjee from the important event as a big disrespect towards Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and a direct attack on the federal structure of our democratic republic.

In a series of tweets, the Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda said the prestigious and world famous Vishwa Bharti University established by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore is not just an institution of national importance, but it is also recognised with West Bengal world over.

Shri Nadda said honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today joined the Centenary Celebrations of the Vishwa Bharti University, but only due to her political animosity Mamata Banerjee did not join the important function of the prestigious institution. Shri Nadda said just for the sake of her false ego and pride Mamata Banerjee insulted Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and India's federal structure.

Honourable National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party said the path of false ego, animosity, hatred, falsehood and torture which Mamata Banerjee is following is not attuned to the rich culture and ideals of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda, it is not synonymous with the culture and values of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, it is not the culture and tradition of Bengal.

Time and again Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress has insulted and demeaned the great culture, traditions and ethos of West Bengal.

Shri Nadda further said that honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has unhindered faith and firm belief on Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore and his teachings. The Prime Minister also has deep faith and admiration for the great culture, philosophy and literature of West Bengal. Shri Modi ji has always revered West Bengal as an exemplary state and he also believes that West Bengal has the power to give right direction to the entire nation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda also said jealousy, political animosity and disruptive competitive attitude forced Mamata Banerjee to boycott the Centenary Celebrations of the Vishwa Bharti University, and by doing this she has maligned the great culture and tradition of West Bengal and belittled the honour and stature of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore.

Shri Nadda said Mamata Banerjee keeps on harping on India's federal structure but she never leaves an opportunity to shatter and demolish India's great democratic principles and practices.

Shri Nadda said the people of West Bengal will demolish the false ego and pride and will give the Bharatiya Janata Party chance and opportunity to build 'Sonar Bangla'.
