Hon’ble Union Home Minister & Senior BJP leader Shri Amit Shah offered his heartfelt condolences to the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Kalyan Singh Ji

Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shri Amit Shah ji today reached Atrauli and offered his heartfelt condolences to former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and a mass leader Shri Kalyan Singh ji popularly known as 'Babuji'.

Addressing media persons after laying wreath on the mortal remains of Shri Kalyan Singh ji, Shri Amit Shah said today I have come here to bid final adieu to one of the stalwarts of the Bharatiya Janata Party. It is a big loss for the BJP and its karyakartas. With the passing away of Shri Kalyan Singh ji the Bharatiya Janata Party has lost one of its strong pillars and the nation, specially the people of Uttar Pradesh, has lost a tall leader who always fought and struggled for the poor, backward and oppressed classes.

The Union Home Minister also said Shri Kalyan Singh ji was one of the tallest leaders of the Ram Temple movement. He quit power for the Ram Janmbhoomi Andolan without even thinking once. When the foundation stone for the grand Ram Temple was laid in Ayodhya I had spoken to Respected Babuji. He had said with enthusiasm, joy and satisfaction that with the foundation stone laying for the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya his life's biggest goal, his life's greatest wish has been achieved.

Shri Amit Shah said the entire life and political career of Honourable Babuji remained committed towards the growth, progress and development of Uttar Pradesh. His entire life was spent working for the welfare, wellbeing and upliftment for the poorest of the poor. He always strived to make Uttar Pradesh the best and most developed state in the country. The entire life of Babuji who came from a very poor background and rose to become the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh is a true source of inspiration for the Bharatiya Janata Party and all its workers. Babuji remained committed to his ideology and principles throughout his life, he persistently struggled to reach his goals and accomplish his missions and he always struggled for the rights of the poor and downtrodden people. It is a life we should all strive to live.

The Union Home Minister said the passing away of our respected Babuji has left a deep void in the Bharatiya Janata Party which will be very hard to fill. The death of Shri Kalyan Singh ji has also created a big vacuum in the Indian political space. I believe that it will be a very hard task for the Bharatiya Janata Party to fill this vacuum for a very long time. Though respected Babuji was away from active politics for a very long time, the kind of crowd that has gathered to pay their last respects to Honourable Babuji, particularly the youths who have come in such large numbers, clearly shows his popularity and respect among people for him. This also shows how Shri Kalyan Singh ji has left an indelible mark on the lives of crores of people not only in Uttar Pradesh but across the country.

Shri Amit Shah said that all the karyakartas of the Bharatiya Janata Party pay their homage to the Honourable Babuji. We all also commit ourselves towards working for the upliftment and welfare of poor and downtrodden people of Uttar Pradesh. I pray to God that the soul of our respected Babuji rests in peace. The life of Honourable Babuji will continue to inspire the generations of the Bharatiya Janata Party to come and we will all continue to follow his ideals and principles that he has shown to all of us.
