Salient Points of BJP National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi’s Press Conference Regarding The Land Scam In Karnataka

Since the Congress government came to power in Karnataka, new chapters of corruption have been emerging one after another. First, there was corruption in the Maharishi Valmiki SC-ST fund, then a land scam in MUDA and now another land scam has surfaced

Congress government seems to believe that no one else can handle welfare better than the Department of Social Justice and Welfare, implying that family welfare and Congress welfare are considered more important to them

In Bangalore, which is acclaimed as the best in software and IT, the e-auction process was not conducted. Why did the Karnataka government not hold an e-auction in the country's digital capital? This raises questions about the Congress' intentions

Bharatiya Janata Party was leading the state on a path of development, but the Congress has diverted Karnataka from that route and is now focusing on the development of a few of its own leaders

Karnataka Congress is not conducting e-auctions because it believes not in 'DBT - Direct Benefit Transfer,' but in 'DBC - Direct Benefit to Congress’

As soon as these events came to light, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah went to Delhi while Kharge went to Karnataka. It's unclear whether they went to protect someone or to address the situation

How a few thousand rupees are distributed while hundreds of crores are siphoned off is demonstrated by the INDI Alliance governments. The Karnataka case is a vivid example of this

Rahul Gandhi will also need to answer which items and sweets are available in his 'Mohabbat Ki Dukaan', and for whom

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday. During the conference, Dr. Trivedi accused Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his family of bypassing 71 people who were in line for land allotment to secure land for themselves. He criticized the Karnataka government for not conducting e-auctions, suggesting that this decision reflects the Congress party's preference for ‘DBC - Direct Benefit to Congress’ over ‘DBT - Direct Benefit Transfer’.

Dr. Trivedi mentioned that ever since the Congress formed the government in Karnataka, several corruption scandals have emerged. He highlighted the Maharishi Valmiki Development Board corruption case, where funds meant for the development of SC/ST communities were allegedly misused by the state government for purchasing jewelry and cars. Rahul Gandhi, who was vocal about the caste census, initially denied this corruption, but later, CM Siddaramaiah accepted the misuse of funds. Another scandal involves the Misappropriation of Funds in the MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) site allotment case, where calls for stringent action against CM Siddaramaiah and his family have led to approval from the governor. Additionally, a recent controversy over the land allotment in the Hi-Tech Defense Aerospace Park in Karnataka has raised further concerns. On February 14, 2024, the Karnataka Department of Social Justice and Welfare wrote a letter requesting a specific plot, but the land was allegedly allotted to someone else instead.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi argued that in Karnataka, the interests of Family Welfare and Congress Welfare seem to take precedence over Social Welfare, suggesting that only those with strong connections to the Congress party receive benefits. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and his family were given preferential treatment, bypassing 71 other applicants who were ahead in the queue. Bengaluru, often referred to as the "Hi-Tech Capital of India" and the "Intellectual Capital of India," is renowned for its excellence in software and IT sectors. Even in 2008, during Barack Obama's first presidential campaign, Obama emphasized the need for American children to work hard to compete with cities like Bengaluru and Beijing.

BJP MP Dr. Trivedi criticized the Karnataka government for not opting for an e-auction process while being in the digital capital of India, which raises questions about their intentions. He contrasted this with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's efforts in digitally transforming India through initiatives like DBT. Congress government avoided e-auction because they believed in DBC, which he described as "Direct Benefits to Congress."

Dr. Trivedi remarked that managing outcomes is more challenging in a digital auction because it lacks the flexibility for manipulation, unlike traditional methods where "85 paise could be earned from 1 rupee." This is not feasible in a digital auction. He pointed out the suspicious movements of political figures, noting that after these incidents surfaced, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah went to Delhi and Mallikarjun Kharge went to Karnataka. He questioned whether these trips were about saving each other or settling internal matters, hinting at a deeper, hidden government operating within the official one. He further criticized the Congress party by alleging that funds are flowing to the party and its leaders, while the state of Karnataka suffers. There has been a significant decline in Foreign Direct Investment since the Congress government came to power. He provided figures showing that Karnataka's FDI dropped from ₹1.63 lakh crore in 2021-22 to ₹54,000 crore in 2024, nearly a two-thirds reduction. This decline indicates that Congress has diverted Karnataka from the development path set by the BJP and is instead focusing on the development of a select few leaders.

BJP National Spokesperson Dr. Trivedi asserted that the Congress government, the Aam Aadmi Party government and other parties of the INDI Alliance are involved in misappropriating large sums of money while distributing only small amounts to the public. He cited a recent incident in Karnataka as a prime example of such corruption and demanded an explanation from the Congress. Rahul Gandhi should clarify what "incentives" or "goods and sweets" are being offered in his "Mohabbat Ki Dukaan."
