Hon’ble Union MoS and Senior BJP leader Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar and BJP National Spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam and Shri Gopal Agarwal addressed a joint press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday. During the press conference, the leaders highlighted the historic GST collection and continuous economic growth under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Union MoS Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar stated that the BJP's campaign for 2024 is based on the last decade of achievements by PM Shri Narendra Modi, who has transformed the Indian economy.  BJP highlights Shri Narendra Modi’s achievements through the opportunity he got in 2014. Before this, the public had also given many chances to Congress. In this election, BJP is presenting PM Shri Narendra Modi's work and achievements to the public, grounded in facts such as GST, the performance of public sector undertakings and corruption-free developments. Congress doesn't comment on their ten years of governance. Their campaign is mainly about appeasement. Congress lacks new ideas to advance India or bring change to the lives of its citizens.

Shri Chandrasekhar highlighted that a TMC MLA suggested that Hindus should be drowned away in the Bhagirathi River. The BJP sees elections as a celebration of democracy, while just two days ago, INDI alliance representative characterized elections as Jihad. Today, a Pakistani minister endorsed Congress’ comments. Shri Chandrasekhar said that BJP promotes a positive narrative, emphasizing development and the country’s future, while Congress’ campaign is built on lies and misinformation. Congress is attempting to create a false narrative about reservations by editing videos. One of my posts was intentionally manipulated to suggest that BJP and CPM are working together. Congress is using these tactics to consolidate the Muslim vote.

Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar presented evidence exposing the truth about the photos and videos being spread by Congress. He stated that the BJP is advancing with a vision for empowering and supporting the youth in 2024, while Congress is pushing to implement the 1917 Marxist law of wealth redistribution in the country. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has transformed the country from a struggling economy to the world's fifth-largest economy and is working to achieve the third position. The public has given Congress many chances, but it has betrayed the people's trust. In their desperation, Congress is misleading the public with lies, misinformation and appeasement politics.

BJP National spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam emphasized that the whole world now recognizes the power of India, with its economy flourishing day by day. He pointed out that over the past 10 years, the inequality index in India reached its lowest level, attributed to low inflation of 3.2%, which was effectively controlled by PM Shri Narendra Modi, providing significant relief to the common man's savings and earnings. Despite initial criticism from the Congress regarding GST implementation, the historic GST collection silenced skeptics like P Chidambaram. High-frequency data and PMI indicators are both soaring, with a PMI of 62-63 indicating a robust economic situation in India. Additionally, in the years 2013-24, PSUs, which were once considered to be dragging down the Indian economy, saw their value increase from ₹18 lakh crore to ₹40 lakh crore.

Syed Islam emphasized that when Shri Narendra Modi first became Gujarat CM, PSUs were facing losses, but under his leadership as Prime Minister, these PSUs transformed into profitable entities. Despite initial criticisms of the banking system under PM Shri Narendra Modi, it has significantly improved, with the market value of banks increasing from ₹5 lakh crore to over ₹16 lakh crore. The Modi government has revitalized a banking system that was looted during the UPA government's tenure from 2006-12. Under the Modi government, inflation has dropped from double digits to 4%, while India's interest rate stands at 7.2% compared to the USA's 4.7% over 10 years. This economic growth is attributed to the government's 'Nation First' policy. Even during the COVID era, PM Shri Narendra Modi ensured fund collection and kept the economy on track.

BJP National spokesperson Shri Gopal Agarwal highlighted the significant rise in India's economy under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi. In 2014, India's economy was perceived as fragile, raising global concerns about its impact on the world economy. However, over the past 10 years, the Indian economy not only accelerated domestic growth but also emerged as a growth engine for the global economy under PM Shri Narendra Modi's leadership. During his first term, PM Shri Narendra Modi addressed issues of corruption and leakages in government schemes. In the second term, he laid a strong foundation for the Indian economy. Now, in his third term, PM Shri Narendra Modi has a clear vision and roadmap to propel India to become the world's third-largest economy. Gopal Krishna Agarwal said Congress is not talking about how to increase GDP, but is talking only about redistribution of resources, meaning thereby that whatever benefits and resources our SC, ST and OBC people get under the Constitution, Congress want to take them away and redistribute them on the basis of religion.

Shri Agarwal mentioned that recently, the Finance Ministry released data indicating record-high GST collections of over ₹2.10 lakh crore in FY 2023-24. Despite the lower GST rates implemented in 2016 compared to the revenue-neutral rate, inflation was controlled, and GST collections have been robustly increasing. Additionally, in 2013-14, public sector undertakings (PSUs) were dragging down the economy, but by 2024, PSUs in sectors like Railways, Defence, and Petroleum were thriving. For instance, in 2014, the Bombay Stock Exchange PSU index was at a low of 5,405.3, but by 2024, it surged to 19,365.
