SALIENT POINTS OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BHARATIYA JANATA PARTY'S FOUR MEMBER HIGH LEVEL COMMITTEE FORMED TO INVESTIGATE THE SELF-IMMOLATION OF SANT VIJAY DAS JI AGAINST ILLEGAL MINING IN RAJASTHAN. THE PRESS CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN THE BJP HEADQUARTERS
After visiting the spot we saw heart rending scenes. Local population is very angry and disturbed over the self immolation of Sant Vijay Das ji and are criticising the Congress party government led by chief minister Ashok Gehlot for this highly unfortunate death. All the people have one request that the supreme sacrifice of Sant Vjijay Das ji should not go in vain and the Congress party government should be taught a lesson.

In the investigation we found that in Rajasthan illegal mining is going on on a massive scale under the patronage of the Congress party government and its chief minister Ashok Gehlot in which even the Congress ministers are involved. Despite repeated complaints the Congress party government has done nothing to stop illegal mining in Rajasthan which forced Sant Vijay Das ji to self immolate and lay his life to save state from illegal mining.

The Bharatiya Janata Party demands that CBI inquiry should be conducted into illegal mining activities in the 84 Kos area in the state. The sant samaj have categorically stated that the Ashok Gehlot government cannot do free and fair investigation into the illegal mining in the state and that is why they have written to the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot to immediately order CBI inquiry into rampant illegal mining in the state.

Adi Badri and Kankanchal, these two areas fall under the 84 Kos Parikrama in the hilly Braj area and are holy sites. Illegal mining is going on in such massive scale in these areas that entire hills have been flattened. Illegal mining has led to massive environmental losses and degradation of the entire area due to this illegal mining.

Swami Vijay Das ji and other saints sat in dharna against illegal mining in the state. Swami Vijay Das ji sat on dharna for 551 days , but the Congress party government and chief minister Ashok Gehlot continued their patronage to illegal mining contractors and mining mafia in the state.

There are reports that minister in the Congress party government in Rajasthan, Zahida Khan and her son Sajid had pressurised the local administration to allow rampant illegal mining. It is reported that the Congress party government's minister Zahida Khan has two mining contracts. This is the heights of corruption and shamelessness of the Congress party government in Rajasthan.

Before his immolation Sant Vijay Das ji had warned the Congress party government and had even shaved his head. Despite this the Ashok Gehlot government failed to take note and did not care for the demands of Sant Vijay Das ji. Irony is that the ministers in the Congress party government in Rajasthan used to ridicule and make mockery of him. The Ashok Gehlot government used to humiliate Sant Vijay Das ji.

In Rajasthan our sadhus and saints are being humiliated in Alwar, Bharatpur and other districts by the Congress party government. After this self immolation of Sant Vijay Das ji the Ashok Gehlot government is shamelessly harassing our saints by filing FIRs against them besides torturing and intimidating innocent villagers.

Swami Vijay Das ji was a great saint and was widely respected in the area. The Congress party government committed the sin of filing FIR against the great saint. But when attempts are made to file FIR against mining minister Jayda Khan the Rajasthan police refused to do so.

The Bharatiya Janata Party government in 2005 had banned all mining in hilly region of the Braj area. The BJP government had also formed a committee to check illegal mining in the state. Based on the report of the committee the BJP government had cancelled 202 mining contracts in 2008.

The Bharatiya Janata Party fact finding team has found that on October 12, 2021 the Ashok Gehlot government had formed a committee on mining which gave some recommendations, but all this has remained on paper. The Ashok Gehlot government has done nothing to stop illegal mining in the state.

In this ecologically highly sensitive area of Rajasthan in one year 17 lakh metric tonnes mining should be done , but in the past 9 months already 30 lakh metric tonnes of mining has been done , as a result the entire hill has disappeared.

The Congress party Gehlot government in Rajasthan has done a big sin by demolishing this sacred mountain. The Congress party government will have to pay a heavy price for this. The Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan have crossed all heights of political appeasement. The people of the state have made up their minds to teach the Congress party a lesson.

The state government which does not listen to the problems of sadhus and saints, the state government which humiliates them is bound to be uprooted. The Bharatiya Janata Party government in Rajasthan had declared this area as forest area. But the Congress chief minister tells white lies and the people of Rajasthan knows about it. The Congress party government and its chief minister have been totally exposed.
