Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Shri Dushyant Kumar Gautam addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Friday. During the conference, Shri Dushyant Gautam exposed the truth about Congress' anti-Dalit mindset and criticized the party for its disrespect towards Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Shri Gautam stated that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar established provisions for reservations for Dalits, backward classes and OBCs, but Congress has consistently undermined them. Under Article 370, Dalit children in Jammu & Kashmir could become doctors, engineers and professors, but the state government only offered them jobs as sanitation workers. Even after 75 years of independence, they still haven't benefited from reservations. Congress has never spoken out on their behalf.

Shri Gautam stated that Pt. Nehru wrote a letter to the Chief Ministers on 24 June 1961, in which he clearly stated that he did not like any form of reservation, especially in services. He wrote that he was strictly against anything that created second-class standards and therefore, he was against reservation by birth.

BJP National General Secretary Shri Gautam conveyed that any provision from the central government's funds, from a single rupee to the entire funding of central universities, means that central government policies must also be implemented there. Although all the funding at AMU and JMI comes from the central government, they do not uphold the constitutional standards there. Moreover, Congress did not struggle against this due to its anti-Dalit practices. A proof of Congress' anti-Dalit stance is that after forming the government in 2004, Congress conspired to provide reservations to a specific community as SC, ST and OBC through the Ranganath Misra report. In some parts of the country, the Muslim community is already being reserved through the ST quota. In Karnataka, Congress has turned a specific community into OBC, causing harm to the OBC community.

Senior BJP leader Shri Gautam noted that during independence, Yogendra Nath Mandal moved to Pakistan with millions of Dalits. Mohammad Ali Jinnah appointed him as Pakistan's first law minister, but Dalits faced persecution and their rights were ignored. Eventually, they fled to India and sought citizenship through the CAA law. Congress, however, continuously stalled the CAA's implementation and now that the BJP is enacting the law, Congress opposes it.

Hon’ble Shri Gautam stated that there were disagreements between Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Congress party and these differences eventually compelled Babasaheb Ambedkar to resign from his ministerial position. As a result of these disagreements, the Congress party campaigned against Baba Ambedkar in the 1952 elections and the 1953 by-elections, causing him to lose. The Congress party held such animosity towards Babasaheb Ambedkar and his followers that they honored Indira Gandhi with the Bharat Ratna in 1971, Jawaharlal Nehru in 1955 while he was alive and Rajiv Gandhi posthumously in 1991, but delayed awarding the Bharat Ratna to BR Ambedkar for numerous years.

Respected Shri Gautam stated that the country had to wait for a non-Congress government to honor Dr. Ambedkar with the highest accolade and he was awarded the Bharat Ratna on March 31, 1990, during the Janata Dal and BJP government. Congress did not allow Dr. Ambedkar's last rites take place in Delhi and while the party built grand memorials, they did not even honor his residence. During former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government, the people living in Baba Ambedkar's residence were paid a high price to vacate it, allowing a museum to be established there.

Shri Gautam stated that, unfortunately, instead of honoring the 400 items used by Baba Saheb Ambedkar, such as his tie, register and typewriter, Congress discarded them. The central government took care of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's rose, but let termites damage Babasaheb's precious belongings. Shri Gautam presented photos to demonstrate that Congress neither honored nor preserved Dr. Ambedkar's legacy items. These items were deteriorating in a village around 35 km from Nagpur, but the BJP government is now establishing a museum to honor and preserve this heritage. While Congress built memorials for all members of the Gandhi family, it did not construct one for Babasaheb Ambedkar. However, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has honored Ambedkar by constructing his memorial.

BJP National General Secretary stated that Congress is falsely claiming that the BJP is trying to change the constitution. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is a strong defender of SC, ST and OBC reservations and has publicly pledged that as long as he is alive, no one will interfere with reservations for Dalits and backward classes. Speaking from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi allocated ₹200 crores to establish Dalit chambers in 125,000 bank branches for the Dalit community. On the other hand, Congress and the INDI alliance have shown an intention to eliminate reservations through the concept of the creamy layer. Today, Congress wants to redistribute the resources of Dalits and backward classes to a specific community by imposing inheritance taxes. The anti-Dalit and anti-backward mentality within the INDI alliance has reached such an extent that they question Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for consecrating Bhagwan Shri Ram simply because he belongs to the Teli community. Without the reservation provisions in the constitution, Congress would have never allowed Dalits to enter the mainstream.
