The Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Dr. Sambit Patra today addressed a press conference in the party headquarters and lambasted the 'Naamdar Yuvraj' of the Congress party Rahul Gandhi for spreading canards, making bogus claims and doing petty politics on the unfortunate Lakhimpur Kheri incident.

 

The BJP National Spokesperson said that Rahul Gandhi should recall and remember that under the rule of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji there has been systematic upliftment of our farmers, particularly small and marginal farmers, and not systematic attack. Rahul Gandhi always does his petty politics over sensitive and sad incidents. He has nothing to do with the concerns and problems  of farmers, he just cares about his publicity. Rahul Gandhi and the entire Gandhi family has nothing to do with welfare of farmers, traders and other communities, the Gandhi family is just concerned about itself and looks after their own interests. The Congress is a spent force and people have rejected the Gandhi family. Through the Lakhimpur Kheri incident the Congress party and the Gandhi family is looking for its revival and is trying to play their petty politics . But the people of India will never allow this to happen. Rahul Gandhi is trying to cash in on this unfortunate incident and trying to disturb peace and tranquility in the nation.

 

Dr. Sambit Patra further said that the Lakhimpur Kheri incident is very tragic and unfortunate, but some political parties who have been outrightly rejected by the people are trying to encash this and take political mileage out of it, which is highly condemnable. The fact it that the farmers' organisations and local administration have already reached a pact and now there is peace. When an independent inquiry is going on in the unfortunate incident then the Opposition parties should not give irresponsible and inflammatory statements. Rahul Gandhi has once again done what he always do, he has behaved very irresponsibly. When the farmers' organisations and the local administration have given all information in a press conference then it is the duty of everyone to behave responsibly and not try to disturb the environment. But as usual Rahul Gandhi is trying to incite passions and disturb peace and harmony. Rahul Gandhi's attitude towards the entire incident in highly irresponsible and condemnable. Rahul Gandhi's main purpose is to disturb peace, while the BJP and its government is committed towards peace and harmony. The fact is that Rahul Gandhi is a highly irresponsible politician.

 

The BJP National Spokesperson said whatever Rahul Gandhi said in his statement is a big bunch of lies, which is very unfortunate and highly condemnable . Has Rahul Gandhi become a forensic medical expert? Is he an expert on postmortem examination? When the affected parties have not raised any doubts on postmortem examination, then why is Rahul Gandhi unnecessarily casting aspersions and creating confusion?  Rahul Gandhi is just raising baseless questions just to create an environment of mistrust and trying to incite violence and trouble and disturb peace.

 

Dr Sambit Patra also said the seniormost leaders of the Congress party are raising doubts over the leadership of their party. On Lakhimpur Kheri incident Rahul Gandhi talks about anarchy and dictatorship but keeps mum when senior leader of his party Shri Kapil Sibal is attacked and humiliated  by his own party workers.  Why these double standards? Is it not the murder of internal party democracy?

 

Attacking Rahul Gandhi, Dr. Sambit Patra said he speaks nonsense and lies about our Honourable Prime Minister and the world's most popular leader Shri Narendra Modi ji, and when taken to court over his lies he apologises and seeks mercy . Mother and son are out on bail for theft and fraud, and in their press conference they cry foul, which is highly ridiculous. What type of politics is this? On TV debates Rahul Gandhi's brother in law Robert Vadra talks about farmers issues and land acquisition, but the fact is that several cases are going on against Robert Vadra for land grab of farmers.

 

Dr Sambit Patra also said Rahul Gandhi does selective politics. Rahul Gandhi is saying that he wants to go to Lakhimpur Kheri, but is he bothered about the plight of the farmers of Rajasthan? A few days ago some farmers of Rajasthan demanded purchase of paddy from the Congress government in the state but they were mercilessly lathicharged . Several farmers were injured who are now hospitalised. Did Rahul Gandhi speak to his Chief Minister of Rajasthan?

 

The Bharatiya Janata Party asks just one question from Rahul Gandhi - why does he do selective politics? The entire world saw how farmers of Rajasthan were brutally lathicharged in Hanumangarh for their simple demand of paddy purchase in which several farmers were seriously injured. Did Rahul Gandhi spoke to farmers over phone and tried to understand their grievances and hardships?

 

The Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson further said Rahul Gandhi talks about systematic attacks on farmers, but the fact it that the Congress government at the Centre sat over the Swaminathan Commission report for 8 years and did nothing to support our farmers, particularly small and marginal farmers. His government did nothing to implement the Swaminathan Commission report which talked about increasing MSP and bring in farm sector reforms.

 

It is the Narendra Modi Government which implemented the Swaminathan Commission report and increased the MSP of various farm produce by over one -and-a-half times, thus benefitting our poor and marginal farmers.

 

Dr. Sambit Patra also said since Independence the Congress party ruled the country for over five decades. Had the Congress party government taken pro farmers steps and done work for the good and welfare of our farming community, our farmers would not have been in such pathetic condition and their condition would have been better. Our farmers will never forget how they used to be brutally lathicharged under the Congress party rule whenever they demanded supplies of urea. But now under Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji the Bharatiya Janata Party government's policies are directed towards the welfare of villagers, poor and our farmers. The Narendra Modi government has so far given over Rs 1.5 lakh crores directly into the bank accounts of around 10 crore farmers across the country under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme.

 

Dr Sambit Patra also condoled the death of a journalist in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. He said it was very unfortunate that the journalist lost his life on duty. Our journalists risk their lives to save and strengthen our democracy, and I salute them for their devotion and courage. Journalists risk their lives to show the truth, but it is very unfortunate that Rahul Gandhi is saying that media is not showing the truth.

 

Dr. Sambit Patra said Rahul Gandhi does not trust or believe in our constitutional bodies. Be it the Election Commission of India, Supreme Court, our laws by Parliament, EVMs or our media -- he raises doubts on all our institutions. Dr Sambit Patra also said the Opposition parties -- the Congress party, the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party -- are all involved in spreading lies and fake news to disturb social harmony and peace, which is highly condemnable and preposterous. The BJP is committed towards nation's development while Rahul Gandhi wants anarchy in the country.
