A press conference was conducted at the BJP headquarters, where the party's National Spokesperson, Shri Gaurav Bhatia, discussed the Indian government's evacuation and rescue operation named 'Operation Ajay' in Israel. He noted that amidst the ongoing global conflict in Israel, a significant number of Indian citizens are currently stranded in the region. In response, a compassionate and proactive government is taking decisive actions. He emphasized that it would be entirely accurate to declare today as a moment of national pride, as 212 Indian citizens returned to Indian soil via a special flight.

Shri Gaurav Bhatia emphasized that even during challenging times, the Central government, under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, exhibits the determination to work around the clock for its citizens. The ‘Operation Ajay’ holds significant importance as it instills hope among Indians abroad that the Government of India, along with its 1.4 billion citizens, will take the necessary steps to ensure their safe return to India. He emphasized that ‘Operation Ajay’ is an unprecedented rescue mission, demonstrating how, even in challenging circumstances, a special charter successfully brought back 212 Indian citizens safely.

Shri Gaurav Bhatia mentioned that Shri Rajiv Chandrashekhar warmly welcomed the individuals at the airport who were stranded in Israel. They were heard chanting 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and expressing their gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He stressed the importance of comprehending the situation in war-torn Israel and the hardships faced by its people. He emphasized that an Indian overseas citizen in Israel, who had lived in fear and lost hope of returning to India, has now been safely rescued. She expresses deep gratitude to the Indian government, particularly Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, for the successful execution of ‘Operation Ajay', ensuring the safe return of everyone to their homeland.

Shri Gaurav Bhatia emphasized that India stands by its people in both good and challenging times. There was a time when developed countries like the USA and UK would airlift their stranded citizens and extend assistance to other nations. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India is not only bringing back its own citizens but also providing assistance to its neighbors such as Nepal and Bangladesh. He emphasized that a nation's strength and a leader's character are tested by the prompt and effective response of the government to its citizens' needs, emphasizing it as a fundamental principle.

Shri Gaurav Bhatia expressed his pride in announcing that the Indian government had launched ‘Operation Ajay.’ He then recounted the story of a stranded citizen, Abhay, who had registered on the Indian embassy's Madad portal, hoping for assistance within 2-3 days. To his surprise, Abhay received a call within hours, notifying him of a flight scheduled for the next morning. This turn of events not only brought him home but also renewed his hope, with Abhay crediting the Modi government for their prompt assistance and expressing deep gratitude. This achievement was made possible due to the strong and effective leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, whose guiding principle is that the interests of the citizens are of utmost importance. This success is built upon the trust of India's 1.4 billion citizens, ample resources, and a government that prioritizes effectively. That's precisely why our embassy operates 24/7 to assist our citizens living abroad.

He mentioned that there are numerous examples like ‘Operation Ajay’ and ‘Operation Ganga’, where our government has extended its helping hand to citizens. It's vital for every citizen to understand that they need not worry, even if they find themselves stranded anywhere in the world. He emphasized the Indian government's robust commitment and abundant resources in ensuring its citizens' safety. Noteworthy achievements include ‘Operation Rahat’, which successfully brought back 6,600 people of Indian origin from Yemen. In 2016, during the ongoing war in Sudan, ‘Operation Sankat Mochan’ facilitated the safe return of approximately 160 Indian citizens and 2 Nepali citizens. In 2021, amid the conflict in Afghanistan, over 800 Indian citizens were successfully repatriated from the region, and additional assistance was provided to citizens of Bangladesh and Nepal. Particularly noteworthy, Operation Ganga ensured the safe repatriation of 22,500 people during the ongoing situation in Ukraine. In 2023, ‘Operation Kaveri’ brought back a total of 4,097 individuals to India, including 3,961 Indian citizens and 136 individuals from various other countries.

Shri Gaurav expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and extended his thanks to Union Foreign Minister Dr S Jaishankar. He acknowledged that Dr S Jaishankar is tirelessly working around the clock to ensure the safety of every stranded citizen and make certain that all necessary assistance reaches those in need. He also noted the dedication of our Indian Ambassador to Israel, who ensures that the needs of every Indian citizen stranded there are met 24 hours a day.

He appealed to all the Indians still stuck there, urging them to remain calm and prioritize their safety. He assured them that each one would return to Bharat safely. He underscored this commitment with a deep sense of responsibility, emphasizing that even in challenging times, Bharat (India) remains resilient. The safety of every citizen in the war-torn region is our foremost priority.

He emphasized that he wants to make it clear that each member of the media, often regarded as the fourth pillar of democracy, is making us proud by fearlessly reporting from the war-torn region. Their dedication to covering events that profoundly affect human lives, particularly those of Indians, is truly commendable. He saluted the courage of Indian journalists who have been reporting from the war zone without any fear, and he noted their remarkable composure in the face of danger. He stated that India takes immense pride in their work. Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to the journalists covering this press conference. It is crucial for our fellow Indians stuck in Israel and the war-torn region to understand that there is a responsive government led by Shri Narendra Modi Ji. We are steadfast in our commitment to ensuring their safe return from the atrocities committed by terrorists and the fear generated by war sirens. It is our duty, and we are fully dedicated to this cause.

Shri Gaurav Bhatia stated that India has always been a country that stands with humanity, and the nation will continue to support innocent people and justice. He also mentioned that Shri Narendra Modi Ji is a world-renowned leader, and there's no dispute about that. Whenever an unprecedented crisis, be it war or otherwise, arises, nations around the world look up to Bharat (India) and the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi Ji not just for a stance but for a solution. He reiterated that even when Shri Narendra Modi Ji spoke in the United Nations General Assembly a few years ago, he passionately raised the issue of terrorism. Two points that resonated with all the world leaders were, firstly, that there is no "good terrorism" or "bad terrorism" – terrorism is terrorism, and all countries need to unite to eradicate it from the globe. Secondly, he emphasized that ‘Bharat Yuddh ka nahi, Buddh ka desh hai’ promotes peace. He concluded by stating that Bharat is always ready to assist other countries and play a crucial role in maintaining global peace. This image of Bharat has remained robust over the last decade, which is a matter of pride for every Indian. He highlighted that when the Prime Minister of the country takes a stance, it must be seen as the voice of every citizen. While there may be numerous occasions to discuss internal issues and political disputes in the country, today's press conference is solely focused on delivering a strong message to the citizens of the country and our brothers and sisters who are stuck in Israel, assuring them of their safety.
