Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Gaurav Bhatia addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Friday. During the press conference, Shri Gaurav Bhatia criticized AAP MP Sanjay Singh for giving interviews and addressing the media regarding his role in the Liquor policy case, despite being under the condition of bail not to disclose any details about his involvement in the case. He alleged that ArvindKejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh continuously insulted the judicial institutions and democracy.

Shri Gaurav Bhatia stated that Sanjay Singh the accused is starting a new black tradition. Shri Bhatia emphasized that Sanjay Singh has neither been acquitted nor has the court discharged him, he has only been granted bail. Shri Bhatia stated that the Supreme Court granted bail to Sanjay Singh with certain conditions. These conditions included refraining from making any comments regarding his role in the case. However, Shri Bhatia alleged that Sanjay Singh violated this condition by giving interviews and discussing the case, including mentioning an approver's name. Sanjay Singh defended himself by stating that his statement was made in court regarding Section 15, indicating a violation of the bail condition.

Shri Bhatia highlighted that Sanjay Singh mentioned another approver named Dinesh Arora, which he deemed as a violation of the bail conditions. Shri Bhatia observed that whether it's ArvindKejriwal, Manish Sisodia, or Sanjay Singh, all of them possess a DNA of disrespecting democracy and the constitution. Shri Bhatia pointed out that the statements made by Sanjay Singh in the media were factually incorrect and misleading. He highlighted the irony of Sanjay Singh, who faced jail time in a liquor case, giving a clean chit to other accused, which reflects a high level of dishonesty. Additionally, he criticized ArvindKejriwal for spending crores of rupees on himself and his colleagues, presenting half-truths, and then expecting no consequences.

BJP National spokesperson highlighted the three major sins committed by ArvindKejriwal through Sanjay Singh. The first sin was challenging judicial institutions and claiming that no scam had occurred. Despite ArvindKejriwal and Manish Sisodia being jailed and denied bail, another accused, Sanjay Singh, asserted that no scam had taken place, which is a 'Mahapaap.'

Shri Gaurav Bhatia stated that committing the other sin is to conduct a media trial and spread lies after being released on bail. Sanjay Singh has not only disregarded the dignity of the Supreme Court's order but has also torn apart the fundamental essence of the order. The consequences of this will be very serious. There was another aspect in this order that Sanjay Singh should have taken cognizance of, the order states, "We also clarify that we have not made any comments on the merits of the case." This means that this order has not been passed based on merit, but rather because a concession has been granted, and this applies only to Sanjay Singh.

Shri Bhatia stated that Sanjay Singh was claiming that there was no evidence and no liquor scam. However, Shri Bhatia pointed out that 6 chargesheets had been filed, involving 30 accused persons, most of whom hadn't been granted bail. He mentioned Manish Sisodia, had been in jail for 20 months, and his plea had been rejected by the Supreme Court, along with the dismissal of the review petition. Shri Bhatia noted that the Enforcement Directorate had submitted all documentary evidence in court, including emails, WhatsApp chats, voice recordings, call records, and the locations of the accused. Shri Bhatia also highlighted that the ED acquired the details including the locations where meetings were held regarding the scam. Shri Bhatia asserted that despite the abundance of evidence, Sanjay Singh claims that there was no scam.

Shri Gaurav Bhatia stated that Sanjay Singh repeatedly asserts that the statements obtained by investigation agencies have been extracted under pressure. Shri Bhatia highlighted that the statement was given under Section 164. He emphasized that a statement under Section 164 entails bringing the individual before a magistrate, who converses with them privately to ensure there is no coercion. The statements recorded here explicitly state that they are being given without any pressure. Only when the magistrate ensures that the statement is voluntary. A statement under Section 164 is admissible in law and can be considered as evidence. Shri Bhatia remarked that AAP leaders are aware that they have committed theft, and they will be held accountable for it. How they are ignoring the law gives the impression that Sanjay Singh is digging a political grave for Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and himself.
