Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore today addressed a press conference at party headquarters in Delhi where he once again cornered Congress for its involvement in Augusta Westland scam.  

 

It may be recalled that the Enforcement Directorate in its chargesheet in the Rs 3000 crore Augusta Westland VVIP helicopter purchase scam has said that the main accused has named several senior Congress leaders for their involvement in the scam.

 

Rajeev Saxena has named former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath's sons Bakul Nath and Nakul Nath and his nephew Ratul Puri besides naming senior Congress leader and former union minister Salman Khurshid and Ahmed Patel who is close confidant of Congress President Sonia Gandhi. As per media reports kickbacks to the tune of 70 million Euros were taken in the deal.

 

Congress has a long history of corruption and kickbacks in defence deals. There's not a single defence deal that happened during Congress rule and that names of Congress leaders has not emerged in these deals for their corrupt dealings. Some of these deals include Jeep scam, Bofors deal, Tata truck scam, Scorpion submarine scam, and now Augusta Westland deal. In all these deals Congress leaders have been found involved which is very unfortunate.

Today also a prominent English daily has put out in detail how shell companies were formed to distribute huge amount of money got as kickbacks from Augusta Westland scam  to some people which include several Congress leaders.

The nation wants to know what Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi has to say on the names of senior Congress leaders cropping up in the defence deal? They should also tell the people why everytime names of senior Congress leaders come up in all defence deals.

It is very unfortunate that Congress has always put at stake national security while doing defence deals and the nation will never forgive Congress for this betrayal. Congress and corruption have become synonymous, where there is Congress there will be corruption.

Yesterday our senior leader and Union Minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad asked the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to explain to the nation why names of senior Congress leaders have come up in the Augusta Westland deal. Why they have not said anything? What should the nation think about their silence?

Today once again I would like to ask Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to explain to the nation why names of senior Congress leaders have come up in the scam. Will they say something or keep mum?

In Enforcement Directorate 1000 page chargesheet, Rajeev Saxena has given details of government documents, bank documents and statements, email chats, and details of shell companies. It all proces that there was a massive racket of shell companies and Hawala racket in which many people were involved including senior Congress leaders.

Rajeev Saxena has also told investigators that huge sums of money was given to such leaders and officials who were capable of influencing policies during UPA rule. These people were brought in the country in the name of investors and then big scams were committed. All this will soon be known as the investigation progresses.
