Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday. During the press conference, Shri Shehzad Poonawalla criticised AAP and Congress, accusing them of scams, falsehoods, and pressuring the judiciary. Shri Shehzad Poonawalla condemned Arvind Kejriwal's ideological shift, questioning his alliance with Congress after vowing to expose them. Shri Poonawalla criticised Congress for falsely claiming their accounts were frozen.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that the INC, AAP, and other INDI Alliance parties have a four-point modus operandi, which is to loot, to lie, to play the victimhood card when caught, and to pressure institutions. Shri Poonawalla added that the tweet made by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, stating that the Congress has conditional faith in constitutional bodies, is entirely accurate, as it coincides with two significant events happening today. Shri Shehzad Poonawalla noted that a multitude of esteemed lawyers and legal scholars within the nation have collectively drafted a letter directed to the Chief Justice of India. This letter highlights that several parties level accusations against the judicial system, utilising sophistry to apply pressure, and at times making allegations to tarnish the judiciary's integrity. Such actions, they argue, convey a misleading portrayal of the Indian judicial system to the international community. INC has taints of bloodshed of undermining democracy through the imposition of emergencies.

Shri Poonawalla expressed concern that the Aam Aadmi Party has turned the court into a 'Political battleground.' Shri Poonawalla criticised the AAP for its history of dramatics and attempts to pressure the judiciary with their ‘Hit and run accusations’ against the judiciary, as all of their accusations were repeated and baseless. Shri Shehzad Poonawalla remarked that the AAP's defence in court resembled the concept of presenting an "old wine in a new bottle." However, the court did not provide any significant relief to Kejriwal Shri Poonawalla stated that rather than respectfully accepting the court’s verdict and resigning from the CM post, the AAP started pressurising the judiciary and began creating a false narrative in the country.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that the AAP has denied any money trail in the excise policy case, of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s advocate accepted in the court and that there was a money trail that was used during the Goa election campaign. Shri Poonwalla highlighted that while rejecting the bail plea of Manish Sisodia, even the Supreme Court has also stated that there was a money trail worth ₹338 crore involved in the excise policy case. Shri Poonawalla criticised Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi for misrepresenting the High Court's statement, alleging that the court believed Kejriwal's arrest was made under 'political influence.' However, in reality, the High Court mentioned that Arvind Kejriwal could not be granted any interim bail relief. Shri Poonawalla accused the AAP of shamelessly distorting the judgement. Shri Poonawalla further stated that despite the court extending the remand, AAP leaders falsely claimed that the court had accepted their arguments, which was not the case. Additionally, Shri Poonawalla pointed out that the AAP remarked 'murder of democracy' after it denied multiple bail pleas of individuals like Sanjay Singh and Vijay Nair.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla questioned whether the Supreme Court, High Court, and lower courts are working with envy against the AAP if they are not providing relief to them. Shri Poonawalla pointed out that AAP's ally Congress has claimed to have first exposed and complained against the liquor scam, demanding Arvind Kejriwal's resignation. He questioned whether Congress is also afflicted with envy, considering that some of its leaders are still calling for Kejriwal's resignation. Shri Poonawalla remarked that AAP does not seem to respect court verdicts, engaging instead in scams, falsehoods, playing the victim, and pressuring agencies. Shri Poonawalla pointed out the irony that those who began with the vision of 'Swaraj' have now found themselves embroiled in a liquor scam. Shri Poonawalla highlighted the irony of those who once vowed never to reside in lavish mansions or ally with Congress now living in ‘Sheesh Mahal’ and forming alliances with Lalu Yadav.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson noted the shift from promising to expose Lalu Yadav and Congress leaders to organising a ‘Maha Rally’ alongside them. Shri Poonawalla pointed out the contradiction of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who previously promised to resign during investigations now refusing to do so and asserting they will govern from jail. Shri Poonawalla criticised the Aam Aadmi Party for allegedly conducting scams from jail by issuing fake orders and misleading court verdicts. Shri Poonawalla questioned why AAP shifted from the new liquor policy to the older one, why they increased the commission from 2.5 percent to 12 percent, why they allowed blacklisted companies, and why they permitted the private sector in wholesale. Shri Poonawalla pointed out that despite the court sealing the fact that AAP used money in Goa assembly elections and other elections, Arvind Kejriwal still claims to be honest.

Shri Shehzad Poonawalla highlighted the lack of clarity regarding the order showcased by Delhi Minister Atishi, questioning how it was signed by the CM without court permission. He pointed out the absence of a date and reference number, which raises doubts about the authenticity of the CMO letter. Shri Poonawalla pointed out that even while in jail, Arvind Kejriwal seems to be aware of water and health issues that his ministers, Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, don't seem to understand. He questioned how these ministers are receiving information, whether Kejriwal met them, or if government employees or others without constitutional positions are relaying messages. This constitutes a violation of the government system in Delhi.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla emphasized that the high court's refusal to provide any relief to the Congress party in the income tax issue raises questions about whether the court is also acting out of envy. Shri Poonawalla highlighted that while Congress regularly claims that their bank accounts are frozen, the truth is that their bank accounts have a lien on them. Shri Poonawalla stated that the Congress party approached the Income Tax Department and received a notice. Subsequently, they went to the appellate authority and were asked to pay 20 percent, but they failed to do so. Despite filing various appeals, they did not receive any relief and did not even ask for a stay.

Shri Poonawalla highlighted the 45-page High Court order, stating, "Substantial and concrete evidence exists that ₹520 crores of dubious unaccounted transactions have been made by the Congress." Additionally, the court noted that large sums of money were found in the Congress party office at 24 Akbar Road, prompting the need for further investigation. Shri Poonawalla pointed out that the Prime Minister criticised the Congress for having a conditional faith in the judicial system and constitutional bodies. Shri Poonawalla alleged that while the Congress welcomes judgments in their favour, they question the judicial system both in India and abroad when the verdict goes against them. He also noted that Congress questions the EVMs every time they lose an election.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla stated that not only EVM and the constitution body, but the Congress is also habitual of demeaning the ‘Nari Shakti Yuva Shakti, Jan Shakti, and Sanatan Shakti’. Shri Shehzad Poonawalla noted that as the seven-phase election was about to commence, the three-phase meltdown of the INDI Alliance, wherein they denounced central agencies, the public, and the judiciary, began. Shri Poonawalla pointed out that the INDI Alliance includes RJD, JMM, TMC, DMK, etc., who were convicted under the UPA regime. However, when actions are taken against them by central agencies, the alliance terms it as a threat to democracy, showcasing their double standards.
