Salient Points of BJP National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla’s Press Conference

For the Congress party, the most important appointment after Rahul Gandhi has been that of Sam Pitroda. With Rahul Gandhi becoming the leader of the opposition, there is a need for advisors, hence, Sam Pitroda has been reappointed

*****************
This directive from the All India Congress Committee is not an appointment letter but an endorsement letter, which endorses every statement made by Sam Pitroda
*****************

When the appointment letter was issued by the Congress, Sam Pitroda wrote in his tweet, "I was not sacked, I stepped down willingly. I am not ashamed of anything I have said"
*****************

Congress has rewarded individuals who speak against the Ram Mandir and Ram Navami. By not expressing any objection to Sam Pitroda's statements, it appears that Congress is endorsing all the remarks made by the ‘Guru’

*****************

In the present times, the 'Guru' and 'Chela' in the Indian politics have made it absolutely clear that the 'Chela' have understood, contemplated and revered his ‘Guru’
*****************
Sam Pitroda's appointment letter proves that the Congress party fully supports all his controversial and disrespectful comments about India regarding Bhagwan Shri Ram, Ram Navami, the Sikh genocide and the Pulwama attack

*****************

Sam Pitroda had claimed that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar made no contribution to drafting the Constitution. Today, the appointment of Sam Pitroda by the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi is seen as a significant disrespect to Dr. Ambedkar

Several Congress leaders talk big about public welfare but have stayed silent on the deaths in Kallakurichi and on the remarks comparing South Indians to Africans

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi, on Thursday. During the conference, Shri Poonawalla criticized the Congress party for reinstating Sam Pitroda as the chairman of Indian Overseas Congress despite dismissing him earlier for making racist remarks about Indians.

Shri Poonawalla stated that there is an old saying "Guru Kije Jaan, Paani Peeje Chaan", which means that one should strain water before drinking and should know his ‘guru’ very well. In the current political landscape of Indian politics, it has become clear that the ‘Chela’ has indeed kept his ‘guru’ well and truly. AICC passed an order yesterday to reappoint Sam Pitroda as the chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress with immediate effect. This is the same Sam Pitroda who is considered to be the most trusted and close associate of Congress and who is Rahul Gandhi's declared mentor and guru. Sam Pitroda meticulously plans all of Rahul Gandhi's foreign trips and he is also known as “Uncle Sam”.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Poonawalla stated that yesterday, Sam Pitroda was once again reappointed. This appointment by the AICC is not just an appointment but an endorsement letter. Every decision made by ‘Uncle Sam’ is an endorsement. During elections, if any issue seems inconvenient or does not serve political expediency, Congress tends to sideline it by claiming them to be personal statements, aiming to mislead the public. As the elections concluded, Rahul Gandhi is appointed as the Leader of the Opposition and upon assuming this role, Congress prioritizes its most significant reappointment, that of Sam Pitroda. With Rahul Gandhi becoming the leader of the opposition, there is a need for advisors, hence, Sam Pitroda has been reappointed.

Shri Poonawalla stated that the same Sam Pitroda had earlier stated that he sees foreigners among Indians. Congress, on the other hand, seems to have more trust in foreigners, examining their leadership structure reveals a greater faith in foreigners. Sam Pitroda had stated that people from South India are seen as African, those from the Northeast as Chinese, Western Indians as Arabs, and those from the North as whites. While Congress may have cosmetically distanced itself from these statements, Uncle Sam tweeted after receiving an appointment letter from Congress. In the tweet, he wrote, "I was not sacked, I stepped down willingly, the remarks made by me were not racist, in fact it is the racist people who thought they are racist." This means that after his reappointment, Uncle Sam came forward to state that Congress fully stood by his statements. Sam Pitroda stands by his words without any shame or regret.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Poonawalla questioned Revanth Reddy, Siddaramaiah and MK Stalin, whether they share Sam Pitroda's view that South Indians are perceived as Africans. He highlighted that many Congress leaders engage in discussions about North-South issues. In the recent Kallakurichi incident where violence occurred, all these leaders remained silent. And even when Sam Pitroda referred South Indians as Africans, the leaders of the Congress party remained silent.

Shri Poonawalla mentioned that Sam Pitroda had commented on the 1984 Sikh genocide, where 3,500 Sikhs were killed, noting that Rajiv Gandhi had remarked, “Bada Pedd Girta Hai Dharti Hilti Hai” and Sam Pitroda’s claim “Hua Toh Hua”  aligns with Rahul Gandhi's apparent endorsement through his reappointment of Uncle Sam. On the Pulwama and 26/11 attacks, Sam Pitroda said that if 8 to 10 people carry out attacks, the entire Pakistan can't be blamed. After the Balakot airstrike, he asked the army for proof regarding the killings of 300 terrorists. Rahul Gandhi endorsed all these statements made by Sam Pitroda.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Poonawalla stated that Sam Pitroda has also commented on the Constitution, suggesting that Babasaheb Ambedkar had no contribution to its framing, but Jawaharlal Nehru did. Today, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have endorsed Sam Pitroda's re-appointment, which has been seen as disrespectful towards Babasaheb Ambedkar.

Shri Poonawalla stated that Sam Pitroda has said that Bhagwan Ram, Ram Mandir and Ram Navmi are against the idea of India. Today, in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party and Congress are claiming victory and appointed Sam Pitroda as an advisor, who has expressed views against Bhagwan Ram and the Ram Mandir, labeling them as against the idea of India. Sam Pitroda has also commented on the middle class, saying they should not be selfish and advocating for higher taxes on them. Sam Pitroda had also spoken about inheritance tax, proposing a distribution of 55 percent of property. Shri Poonawalla mentioned that the Congress party has endorsed all these statements by Sam Pitroda through the appointment letter.

National Spokesperson Shri Poonawalla mentioned Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh's tweets that Sam Pitroda was re-appointed because he provided context for his previous comments. Jairam Ramesh alleged that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji distorted Sam Pitroda's remarks. Shri Poonawalla mentioned that Jairam Ramesh endorsed Sam Pitroda's comments, stating that there was nothing wrong with them. Rather, he blamed those who were offended by Pitroda's remarks. Imran Masood supported Sam Pitroda’s appointment, calling him the pioneer of the digital revolution. Udit Raj tweeted that while Sam Pitroda’s comments were right, the timing was wrong.

BJP National Spokesperson Shri Shehzad Poonawalla pointed out that from the appointment letter or the endorsement letter, it's evident that the Congress Party fully subscribes to and endorses all the objectionable and insulting comments made by Sam Pitroda about Indians, Bhagwan Ram, Ram Navmi, Sikh genocide and the Pulwama terrorist attack. Shri Poonawalla emphasized that this re-appointment immediately after the elections reveals Congress party’s true stance.
