Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha MP Sushri Bansuri Swaraj addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi, on Friday. During the conference, Sushri Bansuri Swaraj stated that the Hon'ble Supreme Court has rejected the claim that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest was illegal, affirming that the arrest was made under legal procedures. Sushri Swaraj mentioned that while the Supreme Court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal, it has prohibited him from going to the CM office and the secretariat. She described Arvind Kejriwal as a careless Chief Minister of a negligent government.

BJP MP Sushri Bansuri Swaraj asserted that the Supreme Court has granted conditional bail to liquor scam 'Kingpin' Arvind Kejriwal because the court accepted that the trial could be delayed but the Aam Aadmi Party leaders are celebrating corruption. The Aam Aadmi Party leaders are misleading the people of Delhi and the media on many issues. The Supreme Court’s order has made it clear that the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal is legally valid. Arvind Kejriwal had filed two applications before the Supreme Court, first regarding his arrest and second for his bail. This is the third or fourth time that the judicial institutions of the country have found that the arrest of the Chief Minister of Delhi is valid. The trial court, High Court and Supreme Court had earlier found Arvind Kejriwal's arrest valid in the ED case and his arrest has been justified in the CBI case as well.

Sushri Swaraj, while citing the Supreme Court order, stated that the Court has confirmed that Arvind Kejriwal's arrest is entirely constitutional. The investigating agencies provided solid evidence and facts supporting the justification for his arrest. According to Paragraph 47 of the Supreme Court verdict, Kejriwal is barred from signing any government documents and from entering the Chief Minister's office. Even during the ED trial, the Court had symbolically suggested that, on moral grounds, Kejriwal should consider stepping down from his position. But the way Arvind Kejriwal is clinging to the Chief Minister's chair shows his arrogance and obstinacy, due to which the people of Delhi are being harmed. Arvind Kejriwal is intoxicated with his greed for power, ignoring the indication of the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

BJP MP Sushri Bansuri Swaraj stated that although the Supreme Court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal today, the Court's order has once again made it clear that Kejriwal is involved in the liquor scam. The conditions of Kejriwal's bail indicate that he is deemed unfit to hold the position of Chief Minister, which is why he has been barred from signing government documents and from accessing the Chief Minister's office. Arvind Kejriwal is a careless Chief Minister of a negligent government.
