Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Monday. During the press conference, Syed Zafar Islam emphasized the significance of the Calcutta High Court's verdict to cancel the West Bengal Teacher Recruitment 2016, describing it as a significant blow to the corrupt TMC. Dr. Islam strongly criticized Mamata Banerjee and called for her resignation in light of the court's ruling.

Syed Zafar Islam emphasized the significance of the recent verdict by the Calcutta High Court, which has exposed what he referred to as the "sleeper cell of corruption" led by Mamata Banerjee. Syed Islam mentioned that TMC stands for "Transfer My Commission," indicating alleged corruption within the party. He claimed that Mamata Banerjee and her associates have been involved in various corrupt activities in West Bengal, causing shame to both the state and the nation.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson specifically highlighted corruption in the education sector, pointing to irregularities in the recruitment process for teachers. He mentioned a case from 2014 when the West Bengal School Service Commission initiated recruitment for 24,000 vacant teaching positions, which began in 2016. Allegedly, under the influence of Mamata Banerjee and her close confidant Parth Chaterjee, candidates who hadn't cleared the TET exams were appointed as teachers. Syed Islam asserted that this unjust practice overlooked meritorious candidates in favor of those who allegedly paid bribes to the TMC. He criticized the TMC for compromising the quality of education by engaging in corrupt recruitment practices.

Syed Islam emphasized that when deserving candidates who were overlooked for jobs approached the Calcutta High Court, the court instructed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the money trail. Following this, the ED conducted raids on the residence of state Education Minister Parth Chaterjee in 2022, uncovering a significant amount of cash. Papers related to properties under the name of Arpita Banerjee, a close associate of Parth, were also found. Subsequent raids on Arpita Banerjee's residences yielded large sums of money, further implicating her connection with Parth Chatterjee. As Parth Chatterjee is a Minister in Mamata Banerjee's cabinet, this implicates Mamata Banerjee as the mastermind behind the scam, allegedly exploiting the youth.

Bharatiya Janata Party National Spokesperson Syed Zafar Islam argued that while Mamata Banerjee has vocalized support for INDI Alliance leaders accused of corruption, she has now been exposed, suggesting that corruption is rampant within the INDI Alliance across various states. He emphasized that individuals involved in corruption, criminal activities, or antisocial behavior have found protection under the West Bengal government.

Syed Zafar Islam emphasized that Mamata Banerjee should resign from the Chief Minister post after facing backlash from the High Court. Dr. Islam pointed out that several Chief Ministers in the past have resigned due to corruption matters, some involving smaller scams than this. Dr. Islam highlighted that this scam is one of the biggest in the country and has jeopardized the future of the youth. Dr. Zafar Islam stated that Mamata Banerjee's sympathy lies only with terrorists and anti-nationals, rather than with the public. Dr. Syed Zafar Islam stated that the entire West Bengal expressed deep shame over the situation in West Bengal and urged Mamata Banerjee to step down from her position and cooperate with the ED and CBI in their investigations.
