Salient points of former CM of Madhya Pradesh & Senior BJP leader Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Press Conference

Mamata Banerjee, bent on appeasement, is insulting the Constitution by disregarding the Calcutta High Court's decision to cancel the backward class certificates issued after 2010

*****************************

Mamata Banerjee's statement epitomizes arrogance and anarchy. A Chief Minister who grants unconstitutional reservations based on religion does not deserve to hold the post for even a single day

*****************************

From Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh, the Congress leadership has historically been against backward castes. Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi himself acknowledged this truth by calling the system anti-backward

*****************************

Congress has consistently deprived Dalits, backward people and tribals of their rights. It has committed the injustice of granting reservations to minorities by taking away the rights of OBCs in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka

*****************************

Baba Saheb consistently opposed Congress, which is why he was not awarded the Bharat Ratna, whereas Pt. Nehru and Indira Gandhi were conferred with the Bharat Ratna during their lifetimes. However, Baba Saheb received this recognition only after the BJP came into power

*****************************

Whether it was the Ranganath Misra Committee or the Sachar Committee, Congress has consistently hatched conspiracies to strip Dalits and backward classes of their rights. Such injustices mark the entire tenure of Congress

*****************************

Truth about the INDI alliance has been exposed to the public and the BJP is poised to form the Modi government once again by surpassing 370 seats, with the NDA crossing 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections

Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday. During the conference, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan welcomed the Calcutta High Court’s verdict and criticized both TMC and Congress for practicing appeasement politics and advocating for reservations based on religious grounds.

Shri Chouhan stated that appeasement is a major element of Congress and TMC. Without appeasement, these parties cannot run for a single day. Only to please their vote bank, these parties snatched OBC reservations and allocated them to their preferred vote bank. It is highly unjustifiable and condemnable. The Calcutta High Court has delivered a verdict against reservations provided by Mamata Banerjee. The Calcutta High Court canceled all Other Backward Classes certificates issued in West Bengal after 2010.

Former CM Shri Chouhan mentioned that after coming into power, Mamata Banerjee engaged in vote bank politics and even included Bangladeshis and Rohingyas in the OBC list. One hundred eighteen castes were included in OBC without following any law, and even minorities were given OBC certificates, which the Calcutta High Court termed as 'unconstitutional' and decided to cancel.

Shri Chouhan stated that Mamata Banerjee, rather than accepting the High Court's verdict, declared that she did not accept the decision, thereby insulting the Constitution. Since independence, no person holding a constitutional post has ever said they would not accept a court's verdict. However, Mamata Banerjee did so in a fit of ego and anarchy. He further asserted that a Chief Minister who advocates for reservations on a religious basis does not deserve to hold the post of CM for even a single day.

Senior BJP Leader Shri Chouhan stated that Rahul Gandhi has acknowledged a significant truth. In a program called 'Samvidhan Samman Sammelan,' he openly admitted that the entire system is biased against the lower castes, and he has observed this firsthand from within the system. This indicates that the entire system, from Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, has operated against the interests of the marginalized castes. For many years, the BJP has been saying that the Congress is against the poor, Dalits, tribals and backward classes. The truth eventually comes out, and Rahul Gandhi has now accepted this truth.

Shri Chouhan stated that what the Congress has done against the backward classes is not hidden from anyone. For 40 years, the Congress did not give constitutional recognition to the OBC Commission, this has been accomplished by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. The Congress has always encroached upon the rights of Dalits, OBCs, backward classes and tribals. In Congress-ruled states like Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, the party has committed the sin of depriving OBCs of their rights and giving reservations to minorities. It was under the Congress government that the sin of ending reservations for OBCs, Dalits and tribals in educational institutions like AMU and JMI was committed.

Former CM Shri Chouhan emphasized that Congress has repeatedly obstructed Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's electoral victories. While Pt. Nehru and Indira Gandhi were honored with the Bharat Ratna when they were alive, Baba Saheb Dr. BhimRao   Ambedkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna only when a government supported by the BJP came into power. Congress even opposed the placement of Baba Saheb Ambedkar's portrait in the Parliament. In a Punjab rally, Baba Saheb highlighted Pt. Nehru's lack of initiatives for Dalits and backward classes. Congress has consistently conspired against the rights of Dalits, backward classes and tribals, as seen in instances like the Ranganath Misra Committee and the Sachar Committee. The entire history of Congress is marked by such sins, a truth now acknowledged by Rahul Gandhi himself.

Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted that even today, all the allies within the Congress and INDIA coalition are pursuing a politics of appeasement, aiming to undermine the rights of Dalits, tribals and the underprivileged. Mamata Banerjee, who recently opposed a Calcutta High Court decision, is a member of the INDI alliance. BJP will not allow this manipulation to prevail. The appeasement politics of the Congress and INDI alliance is now evident and the public will respond accordingly. The BJP is poised to form the government once again by surpassing 370 seats, with the NDA crossing 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
