SALIENT POINTS OF THE PRESS CONFERENCE OF SENIOR BJP LEADER AND UNION MINISTER SHRI PIYUSH GOYAL JI HELD TODAY
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal while addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in the Capital today said Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has been awarded with the France's highest civilian and military award "The Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour" which is a matter of great pride, glory and honour for every Indian. Shri Goyal congratulated the people of India for this commendable achievement.
Shri Goyal said Shri Narendra Modi is the first Indian leader who has been awarded the highest civilian and military award of France. This honour is the symbol of the strength of the 140 crore Indians, Indian leadership, and growing influence and power of India in the world order.
"The Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour" award which has been given to Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji was instituted in 1802. This 220 year old prestigious award is the highest honour of France.
The Union Minister further said in the history of India Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is the only leader who has been honoured and awarded by the maximum number of countries. So far 14 nations have honoured Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji with their highest civilian awards. Apart from this, five international organisations have honoured Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji thus honouring India and its citizens.
Quoting various international organisations Shri Goyal said today our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji is the world's most popular leader. Countries across the world believe that under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji world's problems and issues can be resolved, peace can be established and faster economic growth and development can be ensured.
The senior BJP leader also said the United Nations honoured our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji with the "Champion of the Earth" award for his important role in protection and preservation of our environment. The UN awarded Shri Narendra Modi ji for the work done by him in the field of environment protection and taking care of our environment. Today India is leading the world on the most sensitive issue of environment.
Similarly, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has also been honoured with the prestigious global award -- the "Seoul Peace Prize". This honour is given to leaders and personalities who play an important role in resolving the problems and issues of the world, who has strong humanitarian insight and who helps in addressing the issues related to global peace.
Shri Goyal also said be it the US or Russia, Israel or Palestine, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates or Bahrain, various nations have honoured and awarded our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji with their most prestigious awards. Now France has awarded Shri Narendra Modi ji with its highest civilian and military award. Prior to this , this prestigious award has been given to some famous world leaders and prestigious personalities including the former President of South Africa Nelson Mandela ji; King Charles of the UK, when he was the Prince of Wales; former Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel ji; former Secretary General of the United Nations Boutros Boutros Ghali ji.
It is a matter of great pride and honour for every Indian that this highly prestigious award has now been given to our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, who is the world's most popular leader and who is the true ambassador of Indians across the world. This honour is the honour of the 140 crores Indians.
