Salient points of the press conference addressed by Senior BJP Leader and Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah on his visit to Hyderabad

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah today addressed a press conference at the state BJP office in Hyderabad. Shri Shah said the support given by the people of Telangana to the BJP during the recent assembly by-elections makes it clear that the state has started its journey towards development and the Hyderabad municipal corporation is the next stop in this journey. It is certain that this time the mayor of Hyderabad will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Earlier, Shri Shah first visited the Bhagayalakshmi Temple and prayed before Goddess Lakshmi for the health and happiness of the entire country and its people. Post paying his respects to Goddess Lakshmi, Shri Shah led a grand road show in Secunderabad.  The people of the city were very excited about the visit of the Union Home Minister. People turned up in huge numbers at the grand road show and showered their love and blessings on Shri Shah.

The warmth and affection showered today by the people of Hyderabad in the road show and the trust shown in Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state leadership and the BJP is phenomenal. I thank the people for their love and affection.

***

The people of Hyderabad have made it clear that this time BJP is not fighting the Hyderabad municipal corporation elections for increasing its base or seats, but this time the Mayor of Hyderabad will be from the Bharatiya Janata Party.

***

The problem of water logging and floods in Hyderabad has taken alarming proportions and this has happened due to lack of silting of the drains, water logging and illegal constructions across the city on the direction of the Majlis.

***

I want to ask when the city of Hyderabad was battling water logging due to the rains where were Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Asaduddin Owaisi? Water logging happened even in societies right opposite to the Chief Minister’s residence, but K Chandrashekar Rao neither came out of his farm house, nor he was seen anywhere. He will have to answer for this.

***

I want to assure the people of Hyderabad that once they support the Bharatiya Janata Party, we will remove all these illegal constructions which are leading to water logging in the city. We will develop Hyderabad in a way that it will never face water logging in the future.

***

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) promises the people of Hyderabad that it will bring good governance to the grassroots and will take all steps to make it a major IT hub of the world. This is the promise of BJP because whatever our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi says, he always delivers.

***

I want to promise the people of Hyderabad that we will free the city from the shackles of Nawab & Nizam culture and turn it into a modern hi-tech city and create a “Mini-India”.

***

We want to take Telangana and Hyderabad towards an era that evolves from Dynasty to Democracy, Corruption to Transparency and from selective appeasement to the development of one and all.

***

I want to ask K Chandrashekar Rao and Asaduddin Owaisi whether any other person in this state has the right to lead this state or is it only reserved for your family and friends?

We want to take Telangana and Hyderabad towards an era that evolves from Dynasty to Democracy, Corruption to Transparency and from selective appeasement to the betterment of one and all. I want to ask K Chandrashekar Rao and Asaduddin Owaisi whether another person in this state has the right to lead this state or is it only reserved for friends and family?

***

K Chandrashekar Rao you make pacts with the Majlis, we have no issues with this as one is free to strike association in a democracy, but why do you only strike secret pacts with them? Do you not have enough courage in you to publicly announce your seat sharing arrangements?

***

Still there is some time left for campaigning and K Chandrashekar Rao and Asaduddin Owaisi should come out in the public and declare their seat sharing arrangements before the people of Hyderabad.

***

A large part of the city, which feels ashamed of the present scenario, we want to assure them that no one will have the guts to tell them that they are second class citizens.

***

The corporation of Majlis and TRS is the biggest impediment in making Hyderabad an IT hub of the world.

***

All the promises made by TRS five years ago, none have been fulfilled whether it was to provide 100 days of employment, 32,000 water connections in JJ clusters, citizen’s charter, 1 lakh flats for the poor or whether it was to turn Hussain Sagar lake into a tourist attraction or to build a hospital. None of the promises have been met.

***

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Ayushman Bharat scheme proving an insurance health cover of Rs 5 lakh for the poor, but KCR did not implement it in Telangana for his political gains.

***

The PM Street Vendors scheme has been most beneficial for the hawkers of Telangana and Hyderabad. While in Hyderabad around 30,000 hawkers benefitted from the scheme, while in the entire Telangana, the number stood at around 3 lakhs.

***

Hyderabad is like Mini India. Many companies are investing in Hyderabad under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Besides, the Prime Minister has also initiated a big reform. Now you cannot just work from home, but also work from anywhere.

***

It is because of the efforts of the Iron Man, Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel that Hyderabad and the area from Telangana to Marathwada are part of India. Those who propagated the thought of joining Pakistan, we want to rid Hyderabad of that mentality.

***

Modi government has given the city four prestigious institutions like the Biodiversity Research Centre and Centre of Innovation of Defence Excellence. Infrastructure schemes worth around Rs 40,800 crore have already been announced. Planning is afoot to connect Bengaluru and Vijayawada with Hyderabad through the national highway network.

***

Under the Amrut Mission, two parks have been set up in the greater Hyderabad municipal corporation (GHMC) area with an allocation of Rs 3.30 crore. Besides, initiatives have been taken for the credit ratings of the GHMC.

***

The poor hawkers of Telangana and Hyderabad benefited the most out of the Prime Minister’s Street Vendors scheme. While in Hyderabad around 30,000 hawkers benefited from the schema, while in the entire Telangana, the number stood at around 3 lakhs.
