Bharatiya Janata Party’s Lok Sabha MP Sushri Bansuri Swaraj addressed a press conference at the party’s headquarters in New Delhi on Friday. During the press conference, Sushri Swaraj pointed out that Manish Sisodia’s bail granted by the Supreme Court is merely a procedural order and does not imply his innocence. She criticized Manish Sisodia, Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP leadership for various scams.  Sushri Bansuri Swaraj mentioned that Sisodia has to surrender his passport and report to the police every Monday.

Sushri Swaraj stated that on 26th February 2023, Manish Sisodia was arrested. It was his 8th attempt and 7 times his bail was rejected. Today, in front of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Manish Sisodia’s lawyers didn’t argue on merit, their plea was solely based on the delay. After being incarcerated for 17 to 18 months, Manish Sisodia was granted bail based on the delay in trial. The bail doesn’t mean that Manish Sisodia has been proven innocent, he is still an accused and accountability will be determined in the court of law for betraying the people of Delhi. As Delhi's Education Minister, Manish Sisodia committed the grave sin of taking students from “Pathshala” to “Madhushala.”

BJP MP Sushri Swaraj highlighted that the chargesheet mentions that more than 170 mobile phones were destroyed on Manish Sisodia's orders, a finding by the court. The trial court identified Manish Sisodia as the prima facie architect of the liquor scam. The Supreme Court found evidence of a money transaction involving ₹338 crore. Manish Sisodia has been asked to surrender his passport and report to the police every Monday. After spending 17 months in jail, getting bail is natural, but it doesn't mean that Manish Sisodia has been proven innocent.

Sushri Swaraj highlighted that the AAP leadership, including Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal, has been involved in multiple scams, betraying the trust of the people of Delhi. The liquor scam is just one part of a long chain of scandals, including the classroom scam, DJB scam and the panic button scam, among others.

BJP MP Sushri Swaraj remarked that the bail granted to Manish Sisodia is a procedural order. She emphasized that while the BJP welcomes the Supreme Court's decision, Manish Sisodia's accountability still remains to both the court of law and the people of Delhi.
