This year’s theme stresses on these aspects of life.

Shri Nadda said it is due to the dynamic and able leadership of our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji that today the world is celebrating the prowess of Indian culture and its 5,000 year old Yoga as the International Yoga Day. It is an invaluable gift of India to the world.

In 2014, Hon'ble Prime Minister had proposed before the United Nations General Assembly to celebrate International Yoga Day which was supported by 77 nations. Within the next three months the United Nations unanimously adopted the proposal of our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to celebrate June 21 as International Yoga Day. Since 2015 the entire world has been celebrating the International Yoga Day on June 21. It is a big gift to the world from India.

The BJP National President said that the special Yoga session was organised in the Noida stadium where a large gathering did several ‘Asanas’. The BJP also organised such special Yoga sessions at 75,000 different places across the country to mark the International Yoga Day. It is part of the efforts of the BJP to promote Yoga and its benefits across the country. I thank and congratulate all the people who joined the special Yoga sessions across the country.

Terming Yoga as the invaluable gift of Indian culture to the world, Shri Nadda said the Yoga session which we have done is a rare craft, a gift from our ancestors which keeps our body, mind and soul in perfect order and harmony. It is not just an exercise to keep our body fit. It is ‘Yoga’ which is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘Yuj’, which means ‘to join’, ‘to unite’. When the body, mind, soul and brain are combined together, when they are united, we call it ‘Yoga’. The development of a healthy mind and fit body is Yoga.

The BJP National President also said Yoga has also helped in uniting our society, our country and the world. We therefore need to make Yoga an integral part of our lives, we need to remain fit and agile, we need to be happy and in peace. Mr Nadda further said I once again thank and congratulate the people of the country and the world for being part of the International Yoga Day, for adopting Yoga and for making the efforts of our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji successful.
