Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed public meetings in Basti and Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted the developmental works accomplished under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and criticized Congress and SP for their divisive politics. During the event, BJP District President Shri Vivekanand Mishra, MLA Ajay Mishra, Lok Sabha In-charge Shri Setu Narayan Rai, Basti Lok Sabha candidate Shri Harish Dwivedi and other leaders were present on the stage.

Union Defence Minister Shri Singh stated that despite injuring his leg, he still came to support the young leader and candidate Shri Harish Dwivedi. He emphasized that for a decade, the government has been running under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi ji. He noted that for several decades, Congress ruled the country, and while Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee expanded roads and highways during his tenure, the Modi government has continued this progress. Prime Minister Modi has delivered on every promise he made.

Shri Singh highlighted a significant change in how Indian diplomats and leaders are now taken seriously on international forums. He pointed out that previously, India's voice was often ignored, but now, the world eagerly listens to India. He criticized the Congress party for its 52 years of rule under leaders like Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, for failing to eradicate poverty. In contrast, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, poverty has been effectively tackled within just 7-8 years. World financial firms and economic institutions, including NITI Aayog, claim that within this period, 25 crore people have been lifted from the poverty line.

Respected Shri Singh stated that the number of public welfare schemes launched during the BJP rule surpasses those of any previous government. He criticized the previous governments for corruption, noting that whenever they launched a scheme, it often fell prey to corruption. He mentioned that former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi had admitted that a significant portion of money sent for public benefits was lost to corruption. In contrast, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi initiated a Trimurti of ‘Jan Dhan, Mobile, and Aadhar,’ under which people's bank accounts were opened, and a transparent transfer of public welfare funds was established. This ensured that the money sent by the government reached the public directly, without any corruption. Shri Singh emphasized that while other former Prime Ministers talked about eradicating corruption, the current government took stringent steps to address it. He highlighted that many world leaders, including heads of different countries, believe that the 21st century belongs to India. In this election, the focus is not just on the candidates but on the party's mission to build the nation rather than just forming a government.

Shri Singh said that everyone lives for themselves, but one must be ready to sacrifice for the nation's interest. Chandrashekhar Azad made immense contributions to the freedom struggle, sacrificing his life for the nation's cause. Both Hindus and the Muslim community have equally contributed to the freedom struggle. The BJP has never engaged in politics based on religion, nor will it ever do so.

Hon’ble Shri Singh remarked that in future, people will understand the meaning of SP as the 'Samapt Party'. In 2014, people removed the chain from the Samajwadi Party's cycle, and even in 2017, they were unable to repair it, leading to Shri Yogi Adityanath becoming the Chief Minister. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party's cycle chain remained unfixed, and in 2024, it's clear that their cycle has rusted further. Similarly, the Congress party is also declining gradually, and it seems that within a few years, it will become extinct like the dinosaurs. Congress aims to engage in politics of falsehood by misleading people, claiming that the BJP will abolish reservation if it forms the government. However, the BJP government has provided constitutional recognition to the OBC commission. The BJP government has granted 10% reservation to economically weaker sections in the General category. The Congress has been dividing the nation on religious lines. When the BJP government abolished the practice of Triple Talaq, the Congress criticized it, claiming that it's a matter concerning the Muslim community and questioning why the BJP was interfering in it. The Congress should take note that the BJP stands with women of every community and is dedicated to working for their respect. The BJP does not engage in politics solely for the sake of power; rather, it aims to unite every community and work for the betterment of society. The INDI alliance falsely claims that democracy will be threatened if the BJP comes to power. However, they must remember historical events, such as when Indira Gandhi declared an emergency and undermined democracy after losing elections. Under Article 356, the Congress has dissolved many elected state governments for their political gain. Conversely, under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, there has not been a single instance where the BJP dissolved any state government. The Congress and INDI alliance's resort to deceitful tactics underscores the necessity of electing the BJP-led NDA government. It's crucial that people ensure a high voting percentage of 85 to 90% to achieve this goal.

Union Minister Shri Rajnath Singh slammed Arvind Kejriwal and remarked that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had initially promised the public that he would not form a political party after the success of the movement with Anna Hazare, who opposed forming a political party. Despite this, Kejriwal went ahead and established his own party and now faces allegations of a scam worth crores of rupees. Additionally, a woman MP was assaulted in Kejriwal's residence, while Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav was seen holding a press conference with Kejriwal in Lucknow. These incidents have made a spectacle of the country. He emphasized that politics in India should be based on justice and humanity, not on caste, creed, or religion. The opposition's claims about granting reservations to the Muslim community based on religion, but the Constitution does not permit religion-based reservations. Congress had previously attempted to provide such reservations at Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Millia Islamia, which were struck down by the Supreme Court as illegal. The Congress tried to instill fear among minorities, whereas the BJP seeks to foster love and gain their support. The AAP has lost its sense of shame, especially after the assault on a woman MP in the residence of the Delhi Chief Minister. He asserted that democracy cannot function without public opinion and that the opposition failed to pass the Nari Shakti Vandan Act in Parliament, whereas Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi got the bill passed in just three days, ensuring 33 percent reservation for women in the next BJP government. He stressed that women are the embodiment of power and that without their empowerment, the country cannot achieve its goals.

Respected Shri Singh emphasized that the BJP's politics transcends mere power-seeking; it aims to unite every community. He highlighted the significance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's initiatives, such as constructing toilets, providing gas connections to women, and empowering farmers with financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year. These schemes are benefiting citizens across the nation, regardless of their religion. The BJP government has also made significant strides in digitalization, benefiting even street vendors. Today, 46% of the world's digital transactions occur in India. In the past, India was often perceived globally as a weak and uneducated country. The BJP had consistently promised to build a grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a commitment that has now been fulfilled. After years of residing in a hut, Ram Lalla has finally moved to his majestic temple. The era of Ram Rajya is set to commence worldwide, and no power can stop it. The BJP had also pledged to revoke Article 370, which granted special rights to Jammu and Kashmir, and this promise has now been fulfilled. Voices in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) are advocating for integration with India. In an interaction with the armed forces, I had stated that there is no need for military action to integrate PoK; rather, the people of PoK themselves will express a desire to merge with India. Under the UPA regime, India was heavily reliant on imports, even for small items in defence. However, today, India has achieved significant progress, with recent exports amounting to ₹21,000 crores. Furthermore, the BrahMos missile is now being manufactured in Lucknow and is also being exported to other countries.

Shri Singh criticized Congress advisor Sam Pitroda for suggesting a 55 percent wealth confiscation through inheritance tax. He highlighted India's rapid progress, contrasting it with Pakistan's plea for global assistance to avert destruction. There is diminishing self-respect among Samajwadi Party and Congress leaders. Former Pakistani minister Fawad Hussain's admission of Pakistan's involvement in terrorist attacks in India, along with praise for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Congress attempted to divide Indian society through negative propaganda. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ensured the benefits of government schemes reach all sections of society without discrimination.

Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Singh highlighted that India is no longer weak; it has emerged as a strong global player. India aspires to become a superpower, not to dominate other nations, but to promote the message of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" - the world is one family. India does not harbor ill intentions towards anyone, but if provoked, we do not back down. We stood strong and retaliated when necessary. Indian forces avenged the URI and Pulwama attacks by conducting operations in Pakistani territory, demonstrating India's strength. However, despite global recognition of these actions, opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi continue to question the bravery of our soldiers by demanding proof.

Expressing his gratitude to the public, Shri Singh appealed for support to ensure the victory of the Basti BJP candidate, Shri Harish Dwivedi. He called for the formation of the BJP-led NDA government for the third consecutive time with a resounding majority for the BJP across the entire country.
