Salient Points of Bharatiya Janata Party Senior Leader And Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh's Address at Public Meetings in Poonch, Kotranka, Sunderbani & Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir

Only political party capable of restoring the pride of Jammu and Kashmir is the Bharatiya Janata Party, under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji

**********************

Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has previously stated in Parliament that Jammu and Kashmir will be granted statehood. The Congress party is misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir by claiming that they will restore statehood if they come to power

**********************

First phase of voting in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections recorded over 61% turnout across 24 seats, showing that people voted without fear and signaling to the world that the abrogation of Article 370 has fostered improvement and strengthened democracy

**********************

Terrorism will be completely eliminated from the land of Jammu and Kashmir

**********************

First phase of voting in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections has made it clear that the BJP will form the government in the region, while the Congress and National Conference will face significant defeat

**********************

Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had emphasized upon Insaniyat, Jamoorhiyat, and Kashmiriyat. But today, the political dynasties here have prioritized only selfish politics

**********************

Sight of democracy's flag flying high in Jammu and Kashmir has caused distress in Pakistan

**********************

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that Congress and its ally, the National Conference, seek the return of Article 370, which aligns with Pakistan's interests. This raises the question, are Congress and the National Conference serving as proxies for Pakistan?

**********************

Why do Congress and its fragmented alliance repeatedly raise issues that originate from Pakistan? They questioned the Pulwama attack and demanded evidence for surgical and air strikes, reflecting Pakistan's narrative

**********************

It appears that Congress and the National Conference are attempting to advance Pakistan's agenda. However, India will no longer permit Pakistan's nefarious schemes to operate in Jammu and Kashmir

**********************

Pakistan, which has become an international symbol of poverty and despair, is unable to manage its own country while remaining fixated on India's affairs

**********************

Today, Pakistan is pleading for a $7 billion bailout package from the IMF. One and a half times more money has been given in the PM package to J&K than what Pakistan is demanding to IMF.

 **********************

Pakistan's situation resembles that of someone who keeps snakes as the outcome is always disastrous. Its terrorism-export business is now dwindling, and terrorism will be completely eradicated from this region

Bharatiya Janata Party Senior leader and Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed public meetings in in Poonch, Kotranka, Sunderbani & Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir on Sunday. In his addresses, Shri Singh highlighted the transformative journey of Jammu and Kashmir under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, emphasizing the region's shift from terrorism to tourism. Shri Singh criticized opposition parties like Congress, National Conference, and PDP for misleading the public, while reaffirming that no one can reinstate Article 370 in J&K. During the events, BJP Poonch candidate Shri Choudhary Abdul Ghani, Budhal candidate Shri Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali, District President Shri Rajesh Raina, former District President Shri Mohammad Rafi, Shri Gurdeep Singh, among other leaders were present.

Shri Singh, reflecting on his extensive service to the nation, assured the public that if they elect Shri Choudhary Abdul Ghani to the assembly, their concerns and issues will be effectively addressed. Shri Singh mentioned that whenever India's honor and dignity had been at stake, the Sikh community has always stood at the forefront. The contribution of Sikhs in preserving India's culture is immense, and their sacrifices cannot be forgotten. After the span of ten years, elections are being held in Jammu & Kashmir, this is not just a union territory election but one that has garnered the attention of not only the people of India but also the international community. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, after 30 years, Jammu & Kashmir has seen a 58.5% voter turnout, while Ladakh recorded an impressive 82% turnout, which marks a significant moment that has not been seen in the past three decades.

Union Minister Shri Singh stated that the BJP has abrogated Article 370, while political parties like Congress, National Conference, and PDP are creating a ruckus, claiming that they will restore the article 370 if they come to power. These parties cannot reinstate Article 370, as only the central government has that sole authority. Congress, NC and PDP are misleading the public to gain support, asserting that true and good politics involves engaging with the people transparently rather than deceiving them. Bharatiya Janata Party will not allow Article 370 to be reinstated under any circumstances.

Shri Singh stated that Article 370 has caused immense destruction, leading to the loss of countless lives, predominantly among the Muslim community. Congress and the National Conference wish to return to the previous state of affairs where violence was commonplace. Bharatiya Janata Party firmly opposes this and does not deceive the public. BJP believes all communities, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians, are part of one family. Congress created divisions among Hindus and Muslims solely for electoral gain. Politics should not just be about forming a government but about nation-building and fostering societal unity.

Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Singh highlighted that many of the refugees who came from Pakistan were Muslims who did not have the right to vote, along with the Valmiki community and sanitation workers, who were also denied voting rights. BJP has granted these rights by abrogating Article 370. All individuals are human beings, and there should be no divisions among them. The opposition seeks to pit communities against each other to regain power. The opposition did not allocate seats for Scheduled Tribes in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly, whereas the BJP has reserved seats for STs, including communities like the Pahadi and Brahmin groups. Article 370 held Jammu & Kashmir back, but the BJP government aims to transform it into one of the most developed states in India within ten years.

Shri Singh stated that India's Constitution was not fully implemented in Jammu & Kashmir until Article 370 was abrogated. Previously, the tricolor was not unfurled at Lal Chowk, but now, no one dares to stop it from flying high. The people of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are increasingly concerned and hope that the transformation seen in Jammu & Kashmir and throughout India under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, will extend upto PoK. They desire to be integrated with India, believing that it will bring prosperity.

Union Defence Minister Shri Singh expressed that the National Conference, PDP, and Congress are attempting to promote Pakistan's agenda, but emphasized that the BJP would not allow Pakistan's malicious intentions to prevail in Jammu and Kashmir. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the devastation terrorism has caused. Shri Singh appealed for the creation of 'New Jammu and Kashmir', assuring that the BJP is fully committed to this cause. Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has assured that Jammu and Kashmir will be granted state status after the elections.

Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Singh emphasized that the BJP has never considered the religion of the residents of Jammu & Kashmir as a barrier to inclusion, a mindset only the Congress, National Conference, and PDP might hold. The opposition misleads the public. Since the abrogation of Article 370, there has been a significant decrease in terrorist activities, and Jammu & Kashmir is now known for tourism rather than terrorism worldwide. The people of Jammu & Kashmir should forget the past and look toward a bright future. Shri Singh encouraged them to focus on their thoughts, culture, and progress. Decisions made after the country's independence led to Jammu & Kashmir, once referred to as paradise, becoming trapped in turmoil, and it is essential to navigate out of that turmoil and promote forward-thinking development.

Senior BJP leader Shri Singh stated that the rulers of Jammu & Kashmir have kept the region backward for a long time, neglecting its rich cultural and historical significance. This is the land where Shankaracharya once visited, home to the shrine of Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib, the abode of Mata Sarika Devi, and Gurudwara Chati Patshahi. Both Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims used to come together for celebrations like the Kheer Bhawani festival and the Amarnath Yatra, embodying the spirit of unity. However, political leaders have devastated this harmony. Jammu & Kashmir will not be destroyed, echoing the sentiments of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who understands the deep connection to the region. Former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s principle of "Insaniyat, Jamhooriyat, aur Kashmiriyat," contrasts with the current political families that focus solely on politics. Discussions should center around humanity, not just political maneuvering. The opposition lacked clarity on their vision for the country, noting that individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving Kashmir were denied the right to settle there by building their own houses due to Article 370.

Union Minister Shri Singh stated that if any political party can restore the pride of Jammu and Kashmir, it is the BJP and only Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi can do so. People have witnessed India’s previous standing in the international community, and they are also observing its current status. Today, India’s stature in the international arena has risen significantly. In the past, when India spoke at international forums, no one took it seriously, but now, the world pays attention whenever India speaks.

Shri Singh highlighted that in terms of the economy, India was ranked 11th among global countries before 2014. Under Shri Narendra Modi Ji's leadership, the government has successfully elevated India to the 5th largest economy in just 7-8 years. Many international financial firms and prominent economists now assert that given India’s rapid growth, it is undeniable that by 2027, India will be among the top three countries in terms of economic size.

Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Singh stated that the previous conditions were such that people couldn't even step out of their homes to vote, but today, nothing can stop them. In the first phase of the elections, voter turnout exceeded 61%, marking the first time this has happened in 30 years in J&K. This sends a powerful message to the world that the government has abolished Article 370 for the betterment of India. The people of the valley have raised their voices in support of democracy, and they deserve commendation for this.

Union Defence Minister Shri Singh conveyed that witnessing democracy being celebrated in J&K has caused discomfort for Pakistan. Shri Singh expressed a desire for good relations with all neighboring countries, stating that India does not wish to have enmity with Pakistan. However, to distract from its internal issues, Pakistan continually engages in malicious activities against India. Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif claimed that Congress and the National Conference will restore Article 370 in J&K. Who has given Pakistan the right to interfere in India's elections? Congress, NC, and PDP must clarify whether they are acting as proxies for Pakistan in these elections. The INDI Alliance seeks to raise issues that originate from Pakistan, the opposition questioning the Pulwama attack and the surgical and air strikes, reflecting the same narrative coming from Pakistan. Why does this happen? Pakistan has become the international brand ambassador of poverty and despair, begging for a $7 billion bailout package from the IMF. One and a half times more money has been given in the PM package to J&K than what Pakistan is demanding to IMF. Pakistan's current plight is a result of nurturing and trading with snakes, leading to disastrous consequences. Their business of exporting terrorism is nearly over. Shri Singh assured that terrorism will be eradicated from the land of Jammu and Kashmir.

Shri Singh stated that the Congress party spreads lies and misleading narratives not just in India but also abroad. Their leader has claimed in America that the issue is about not allowing Sikhs to wear turbans and kada in India. Rahul Gandhi's attempts to defame India on foreign soil are part of a larger strategy to tarnish the country's image in the international community. The public will give a strong response to such Congress antics.

Shri Singh noted that the world's most powerful country is considered to be America, followed by China. It is a matter of pride that within just two and a half years, India is set to become the third largest economy, surpassing both America and China. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has expressed that by 2047, India will emerge as a developed nation.

Union Defence Minister Shri Singh emphasized that India's strength is further highlighted by the instance of ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine over the past two years, during which missiles and bombs have been exchanged and lives have been lost. When the war broke out, more than 25,000 Indian students were studying in Ukraine. Their parents reached out to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, requesting urgent assistance to bring their children back home. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji took immediate action and more than 22,000 Indian students to return home safely.

Shri Singh further mentioned that under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, individuals aged 70 and above will receive free medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh, in addition to another ₹5 lakh for their treatment, which will be provided by the government.

Union Minister Shri Singh stated that prior to his role as the Defence Minister, he had served as Home Minister and had visited Kashmir, where he learned that young Muslim children, aged 9-10, were facing FIRs for stone pelting and being sent to jail. All of Jammu and Kashmir was a witness to this situation. At that time, he had directed that these children were not guilty but had been misguided, and therefore, all cases against them were to be withdrawn. Shri Singh criticized the opposition for adopting a divide-and-rule policy and asserted that once the BJP formed a government in Jammu and Kashmir, everyone would witness the miracles that would follow.

Shri Singh stated that Jammu and Kashmir has transformed from a center of terrorism to a center of tourism. In Srinagar, where the majority is Muslim, processions like Tazia were previously restricted. With the BJP in power, development is evident. There has been no discrimination, as evidenced by the establishment of institutions like IIMs in both Jammu and Srinagar to shape the future of children.

Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Singh urged the public to vote for Shri Choudhary Abdul Ghani and establish a BJP government to safeguard Kashmir. Shri Singh emphasized that Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has never been concerned about expenses when it comes to J&K's development. The BJP government is committed to investing whatever is needed to restore prosperity and turn Jammu and Kashmir into a paradise once again.
