Salient points of the speech of Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Minister for Cooperation Shri Amit Shah while addressing public meetings in Churachandpur & Kangpokpi in Manipur

 

●     In the past 5 years the N Biren Singh Government in Manipur which has been working under the leadership and guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has brought the state out of the politics of violence and blockade and taken Manipur on the path of development, growth, progress and prosperity . In the assembly elections the people of Manipur have once again decided to form the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state with a massive majority.

 

●     After the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Manipur the government will talk to all armed groups and we will create such an atmosphere that not a single Kuki youth has to take up arms. We have already done this in Assam and we will surely do this in Manipur also.

 

●     In the Union Budget presented recently our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has introduced two schemes. Under the Parvat Mala project the Narendra Modi Government has given focus on connectivity of remote villages located in the hills, while through the Vibrant Village scheme the aim is to give new dimensions to the development and growth of our villages. Both the schemes will be highly beneficial for the hill villages of Manipur.

●     We had promised to the people of Manipur that we will end blockade and bandhs from the state. Today I can say this proudly that our N Biren Singh Government has successfully ended blockades and bandhs from Manipur, and the state has chosen the path of development, growth, progress and prosperity under the Bharatiya Janata Party government.

 

●     Our Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh ji is a football player. He knows to score goals and also to save them. He has stopped all the goals of the opposition parties in Manipur in the form of blockades, bandhs and violence, and has scored the goals for Manipur by taking the state on the path of connectivity, development, growth, progress and prosperity.

 

●     During the Congress party government, Manipur was known for terrorism, infiltration, arms trafficking, blockades, corruption, nepotism and infighting. But today under the Bharatiya Janata Party Government , Manipur is known and recognised for development, connectivity, infrastructure, sports, industrial development, better health and education facilities.

 

●     During the Congress party government in Manipur three 'I' were always in limelight -- instability, insurgency and inequality. But under the Bharatiya Janata Party government led by Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh the three 'I' means -- innovation, infrastructure and integration.

 

●     After 45 long years there is peace in Manipur. Manipur used to be blockade centric under previous governments, which has now been made Atmanirbhar Manipur by the N Biren Singh government. It is due to the efforts of our government that more than 9,500 youths have surrendered and shun terrorism in the Northeastern States and joined the nation mainstream under our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji.

 

●     Our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has put the entire Northeast including Manipur on the fast track of development, growth, progress and prosperity. Hon'ble Shri Narendra Modi ji is the first Prime Minister who has spent maximum time in the Northeastern States. Since assuming the office of Prime Minister, Hon'ble Shri Narendra Modi ji has visited the Northeast more than 40 times, which is a record.

 

●     We want to make Manipur India's biggest sports hub. It is the dream and ambition of our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to see that the youths of Manipur shun drugs and arms, and to take up sports so that they can win Olympic gold medals for the state and the country.

 

●     The Bharatiya Janata Party government will open Khelo India Centers in all the 16 districts of Manipur to give a platform to local talents. Our government will construct an Olympic park on 10 acres in Manipur so that all state level players can get upgraded Olympic level facilities and training to enhance their skills and talent. 

 

●     For a long time there has been demand for 'Inner Line Permit' in Manipur. Our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has given the gift of 'Inner Line Permit' to the people of Manipur.

 

●     When there was Congress party rule in Manipur, its government committed the sin of putting the people of hills and valley regions against each other. But under the Bharatiya Janata Party government led by Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh ji, equal and all round development and growth of both hills and valley regions have been ensured.

 

●     Our Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh ji has brought the very ambitious 'Go To Hills' mission under which our hills will be connected. Since Independence for the first time the N Biren Singh government held its cabinet meeting at Churachandpur and prepared and cleared plans and projects that will change the face of the Manipur hills.

 

●     In the entire country if the Gorkhas have any party it is the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Bharatiya Janata Party government will take along Kuki, Gorkha and other communities and ensure equal development of hills and the valley region.
