SALIENT POINTS OF THE SPEECH OF THE HON'BLE UNION HOME AND COOPERATION MINISTER AND SENIOR BJP LEADER SHRI AMIT SHAH GIVEN WHILE ADDRESSING PUBLIC RALLY AT THOUBAL IN MANIPUR
The people of Manipur have once again decided to form the double engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a massive majority in the state under the leadership and guidance of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. The people of Manipur have decided to keep the Congress party out whose government was synonyms of blockades, bandhs, corruption, anarchy and misgovernance. The people of Manipur will continue with the Bharatiya Janata Party government which has ensured allround development of the state and has taken care of all the sections of the society.

Under the leadership of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the Bharatiya Janata Party government under Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh has ended the culture of bandhs, blockades and strikes in Manipur in the last five years. Manipur today is out of blockades and protests, and peace and happiness prevails in the state as their is effective control on terrorism.

Earlier one start-up used to work in Manipur -- and it was the start - up of the Gandhi family. But the N Biren Singh government in Manipur, which is being run under the leadership and guidance of Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, has brought a new start -up policy which has led to starting of 5,477 start-ups in the state with an investment of Rs 200 crores.

During the Congress party rule in Manipur due to bandhs and blockades the prices of LPG cylinders had gone up to Rs 3000 per cylinder, while petrol price was sold Rs 300 per litre and wheat flour was Rs 100 per kg. It seems that Ibobi Singh has forgotten his tenure as Chief Minister. The Bharatiya Janata Party has infact brought price rise under control.

Once the Bharatiya Janata Party government is once again formed in Manipur, we will hold talks with all extremist organisations and work towards sustainable peace and development in the state. The Bharatiya Janata has already such positive developments in Assam. Today over 9000 youths have laid down their arms in Assam and joined the national mainstream to lead a happy and contended life.

We want to assure the people of Manipur that under the Bharatiya Janata Party government not a single youth will be alienated and will always remain in the national mainstream. Our government will not resort to any violence or put in jails. The youth of Manipur will be brought to the national mainstream and will be utilised in the development and progress of the state and the country.

The double engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party will also keep the boundary of the state intact and will ensure allround and holistic development of the state. The Bharatiya Janata Party government under the leadership of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has resolved all the complex issues be it the issues of Bodoland, Karbi Anglong or Tripura.

The Bharatiya Janata Party government will continue with its campaign to make Manipur free of drugs and will launch a special drive for this. We will bring to end all types of smuggling. The Bharatiya Janata Party government is also committed to make Manipur the sports hub of the country.

Under the 15 year rule of the Congress party more than 600 bandhs and blockades happened in Manipur. But under the Bharatiya Janata Party government not a single bandh or blockade happened in the state. The number of tourists in Manipur has increased by 272% in the past 5 years under the Bharatiya Janata Party government.

Under the Congress party government the economy of Manipur was around Rs 21,000 crores, but under the Bharatiya Janata Party government it has grown to Rs 35,000 crores in the past 5 years.

Our Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh is a football player. He knows how to score goals and how to save them. As Chief Minister Shri N Biren Singh has scored several goals of development, growth, progress and prosperity in Manipur. He has also stopped the goals of corruption, violence and blockade in Manipur. Under him the state is on a new path of rapid development and allround growth.

Earlier in Manipur there used to be just one Ima Market, but in the past 5 years the Bharatiya Janata Party government has constructed Ima Markets in 10 districts. Before 2017 there was not a single women police station in Manipur, but the N Biren Singh government has opened women police stations in all the districts of Manipur.

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji sanctioned Rs 12,000 crores for the construction of 111 km long Jiribam - Tupul - Imphal railway line giving Manipur and Imphal major infrastructure and connectivity project. Once the Bharatiya Janata Party government is formed again in Manipur we will establish AIIMS in the state.

Ibobi Singh during his rule kept on banging the doors of the Gandhi family, but could not implement inner line permit (ILP) for the people of Manipur. It was under the double engine government of the Bharatiya Janata Party that the inner line permit (ILP) was implemented in Manipur for the benefit of the people of the state.

In the memory of and to pay respects to Maharaja Kulchandra Dhwaja Singh who fought valiantly against the Britishers in our freedom struggle, Shri Narendra Modi government has named Mount Harriet in Andaman Islands as 'Mount Manipur'.

Our government has laid the foundation stone of the tribal museum being built in the name of Rani Maa Gaidinliu in Manipur at the cost of Rs 15 crores. In the museum all the memorabilia of great freedom fighters of Manipur will be preserved and displayed.
