SALIENT POINTS OF PRESS CONFERENCE OF THE BJP NATIONAL SPOKESPERSON DR. SAMBIT PATRA HELD TODAY

 

The latest report of the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) clearly says that the main reason behind the medical oxygen supply crisis in Delhi were failures, gross mistakes and mismanagement committed by the Arvind Kejriwal government. And for this very reason the Arvind Kejriwal government has been constantly not agreeing for the impartial conduct of the audit of supply and distribution of the medical oxygen in the Capital as it would expose the Delhi government and bring out before the people their stories of neglect, mismanagement and incompetence.

The Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) report has also stated that the Central government was giving extra supplies of medical oxygen to Delhi while special arrangements were also made for supply of medical oxygen from other states for supply to Delhi. But the Arvind Kejriwal government repeatedly returned the supply of liquid oxygen as it had no space for storage of medical oxygen and it could not make arrangements for the storage of medical oxygen in Delhi to help people in distress in Delhi.

The gross mismanagement on part of the Arvind Kejriwal government led to many people losing their lives due to Covid. We all have heard the versions of the management and doctors of Jaipur Golden Hospital and Batra Hospital how the Arvind Kejriwal government failed to supply them with the medical oxygen and did not help them in times of crisis. All these deaths and failures are the criminal liabilities of the Arvind Kejriwal government which failed the people of Delhi in the times of crisis.

The PESO report also mentions about the claims of various medical oxygen suppliers which says that the Arvind Kejriwal government asked these medical oxygen suppliers not to send extra medical oxygen to Delhi. As Delhi had no facilities for the storage of medical oxygen, the turnaround time of tankers supplying oxygen to Delhi was also increased, which severely affected supplies of medical oxygen to the neighbouring states of Delhi.

On one hand the Arvind Kejriwal government has been accusing the Central government as well as the state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana for obstructing medical oxygen supplies to Delhi, while on the other hand the Arvind Kejriwal government was also pleading the Central government and the two neighbouring states to make arrangements for the storage of the medical oxygen supplies of its quota. If this is not the incompetence and mismanagement of the Arvind Kejriwal government than what is?

On May 9, 2021 the Arvind Kejriwal government had returned 74 metric tonnes of liquid oxygen supplied by the Linde company to Faridabad. Similarly, the Arvind Kejriwal government on May 10, 2021 requested Air Liquide company in Panipat to store its 38 metric tonnes of medical oxygen.  Then again on May 10, 2021 the Arvind Kejriwal government requested the INOX company in Surajpur to store its 37 metric tonnes of liquid oxygen. Same day the Arvind Kejriwal government also asked many medical oxygen refillers to store around 37.5 metric tonnes of oxygen in their facilities. All this speaks volumes about the failures and mismanagement in supplying medical oxygen to various hospitals in Delhi when people were dying.

The Arvind Kejriwal government‘s style of functioning is very strange and funny, and now the entire country knows about it. They cry foul and raise bogus noises to create panic and unrest among the people as they did in the oxygen management fiasco in Delhi. They tried to build pressure on the Central government and the state governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and they levelled false accusations against them, and when the Central government and the two neighbouring state governments tried to help them by supplying oxygen, the Arvind Kejriwal government raised its hands and surrendered and said that they do not need oxygen for Delhi.

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji supplied medical supplies to Delhi, the Central government made arrangements for beds in hospitals and created temporary hospitals, but Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal did nothing for the distribution of medical supplies and running of hospitals.

Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji and Shri Manish Sisodiya ji, we sincerely hope that you will reply to all your acts of incompetence and gross mismanagement, and also come forward to say sorry and apologise to the people of Delhi for lying to them and misleading them, and for leaving them in lurch in these times of crisis.
