Bharatiya Janata Party National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda addressed an intellectual meeting in Thane in Maharashtra on Friday. Shri Nadda described the welfare and development work done by the Modi government in the last 10 years. He stated that before 2014, the country was not taken seriously. However, under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has emerged as a new power on the global stage. The country is not only strengthening its internal security but is also establishing new dimensions of development and prosperity. During the event, Thane Lok Sabha MP Shri Naresh Mhaske, Thane BJP candidate Shri Sanjay Kelkar, Ovala-Majiwada BJP Candidate Shri Pratap Sarnaik among other leaders were present.

Shri Nadda began his address by seeking blessings from Kopineshwar Mandir and stated that Thane is the land of cultural revitalization and home to social reformers and brave hearts. The area has been shaped by the leadership of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Veer Savarkar, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Jyotiba Phule, and other great leaders. The people gathered here are senior leaders of society, and their presence will amplify this message not only in Thane but across Maharashtra. From a political standpoint, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has redefined politics. Earlier, politics was marked by appeasement, divide and rule, misleading the public for votes, corruption, and nepotism. However, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has linked politics with development, taking the country forward, and ending corruption and nepotism. With the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas,’ he is guiding the nation toward the resolution of a Viksit Bharat. This marks a significant shift in the political landscape.

BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted that before 2014, Indian politics was dominated by the concept of anti-incumbency. However, after 2014, the term pro-incumbency gained prominence for the first time in 60 years. While Jawaharlal Nehru became Prime Minister three times in the early years of independence with weak opposition, Shri Narendra Modi Ji has achieved the distinction of becoming Prime Minister three times despite facing strong opposition. We are fortunate to witness the rise of a new India under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji. The BJP has achieved historic milestones across states, repeating its government for the first time in 50 years in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Manipur, and Assam. States like Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Nagaland, and Haryana have seen three consecutive BJP governments, while Madhya Pradesh has had four consecutive terms and Gujarat an unprecedented six. The BJP also formed its first government in Odisha. Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the BJP is set to repeat its government in Maharashtra as well.

Shri Nadda stated that the BJP is a government that works for villages, the poor, the deprived, the exploited, Dalits, youth, women, and farmers. The BJP is a responsible, responsive, and accountable government. This marks a cultural shift and a change in political parameters. Congress has never taken its manifesto seriously. However, today, Modi Ji has brought "report card politics," showcasing to the public that whatever was promised has been delivered, and even what wasn’t promised has also been delivered. This approach has impacted the whole of India and the world.

BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted that recently, the G20 summit was held. Earlier, such major events were confined to Delhi, but under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's, the G20 is not just of India but of Bharat. From Kutch to Kohima and Kashmir to Kanyakumari, over 200 meetings took place in 100 locations, representing the diversity and unity of the nation. The Delhi Declaration has been passed unanimously, which was earlier failed in Indonesia. After the request of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the African Nation became a part of G20. Today, India actively participates in major international forums and plays a significant role in organizations like the G7, Quad, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, BRICS, and I2U2. When India speaks, the world listens attentively. The issues raised by India now shape the global agenda, showcasing the strength and elevated stature of the new India on the world stage.

BJP National President Shri Nadda stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party has transcended traditional politics, focusing on the principle of ‘India First’ under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. This approach has helped India carve out a unique identity on the global stage. Despite differences, the international community now respects and honors India, reflecting its growing stature in the world.

Shri Nadda stated that a significant shift today is that, despite disagreements, the world respects India and acknowledges it. When Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji visits Russia to meet President Putin, he also travels to Ukraine to meet President Zelensky. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has clearly told President Putin that this is not the right time for war, emphasizing that he comes from the land of Gautam Buddha, where war is not the answer. Donald Trump calls Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi Ji "my good friend" and one of the nicest person, while President Putin has expressed that PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji could be a good mediator in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Shri Nadda highlighted the trust that the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has earned internationally.

BJP National President Shri Nadda stated that India’s global standing has undergone a remarkable transformation. In the past, when Manmohan Singh visited the U.S., discussions primarily revolved around subjects like terrorism, POK and Jammu and Kashmir. Today, when Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji visits, he is invited to Joe Biden's personal residence and welcomed as a state guest at the White House. The focus of discussions has shifted to topics like IT, AI, technical support, and semiconductors, opening up new avenues for growth. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has made a significant contribution in redefining India's agenda on the international stage.

Shri Nadda stated that before 2014, in international diplomatic discourse, India was rarely mentioned alone. Whenever foreign leaders referred to the country, they would say "India and Pakistan," and many leaders, when landing in New Delhi, would often plan their next stop to be Rawalpindi or Lahore, treating both nations equally. However, after 2014, the world began to recognize India separately from Pakistan. He pointed out how diplomatic language and terminology have changed, noting that diplomatic phrasing carries significant power.

BJP National President Shri Nadda stated that since 2014, the changes in the country's infrastructure are evident. In Thane, Mumbai, there is no road without an elevated road, no street where metro construction isn't underway, and no area without an underpass being built. Over the past 10 years, ₹12 lakh crore has been invested in infrastructure. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji set a clear goal—there would be no compromise on speed, scale, or skill, which is why such significant progress has been made in just 10 years.

Shri Nadda stated that today, it is a matter of pride for all Indians that in 2014, India was ranked 11th in the global economy and now, the nation has become the 5th largest economy, surpassing Britain. Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India is progressing towards becoming the 3rd largest economy in his third term. The Economist, a weekly journal from England, highlights that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has revolutionized the Indian banking system, which is now thriving and generating profits. India’s electronics manufacturing has grown by 500%, and its pharmaceutical exports have surged 138 times, positioning India as the pharmacy of the world. India is now producing the most affordable and effective medicines, supplying them globally. In 2014, mobile phones were labeled ‘Made in Indonesia’, ‘Made in China,’ ‘Made in Japan,’ ‘Made in Australia,’ but today, 97% of mobile phone manufacturing takes place in India and even Apple phones are now ‘Made in India.’ Shri Nadda stated that in steel manufacturing, India has moved up from 4th to 2nd place. In toy manufacturing, India is now in 3rd position, and the market is expanding further. Before 2014, even Ganesh Ji idols were imported from China. In the automobile sector, India is now the third-largest market, surpassing Japan.

BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has introduced transformative policies in education and health, two key social sectors. The National Education Policy emphasizes affordability, flexibility and inclusivity, enabling education in Indian languages to help students excel. Healthcare has become holistic, focusing on prevention, promotion, and rehabilitation, alongside curative care. Around 1.73 lakh Ayushman Wellness Centers have been set up. Efforts are ongoing to screen individuals under 30 for conditions like blood pressure, diabetes, and mental health to prevent severe illnesses like cardiovascular and renal failures. These initiatives are being further strengthened under the National Health Policy.

Shri Nadda highlighted that India once faced significant delays in accessing vaccines—tetanus took 25-27 years, diphtheria 20-25 years and Japanese encephalitis a century, arriving in 2006 despite being developed in Japan in 1906. Similarly, the hepatitis B vaccine took 20 years to reach India. In contrast, under Modi 2.0, after the first COVID case on January 27, a task force was established by April 19, and within 9 months, India developed two “Swadeshi” vaccines. While Western countries struggled with lockdown decisions, India implemented it effectively, prepared the nation, and launched the world's largest and fastest vaccination drive, administering 220 crore double doses.

BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted that under the Vaccine Maitri initiative, India delivered 30 crore vaccine doses to 100 countries, including 48 nations that received them free of cost. He emphasized how India has evolved from being a recipient to becoming a global donor. Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji safeguarded the nation during the COVID-19 crisis, ensuring swift arrangements for oxygen supply across the country. India’s exemplary pandemic management is now globally acknowledged, along with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s leadership, which demonstrated unparalleled humanitarian efforts during the crisis.

Shri Nadda remarked that during the UPA regime, a deadly terrorist attack like 26/11 occurred in Mumbai and the Congress government at the time only sent dossiers to Pakistan, which remain there to this day. After the attack, Congress kept running around with dossiers, while the main accused of 26/11, Kasab, was fed biryani in jail. In contrast, following the terrorist incidents in Uri and Pulwama, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji ordered surgical strikes and airstrikes that eliminated terrorists within Pakistan. Pakistan could not muster the courage to respond. However, opposition leaders, especially from Congress, continued to demand proof of the strikes. Criticizing the NDA and Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the opposition has now stooped to oppose the nation itself. Earlier, during cross-border firing, Indian soldiers had to seek approvals at multiple levels for counter-firing. Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji, soldiers now have clear instructions to retaliate immediately and persist until the source of the firing is silenced.

BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, India's security has been significantly strengthened. After being declared, a terrorist’s lifespan now lasts only 1 to 1.5 weeks, showcasing the impact of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji's decisive policies. Shri Nadda compared this to the UPA era, where the Defence Minister hesitated to build roads near borders, fearing they might be misused by terrorists. In stark contrast, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has facilitated the construction of thousands of kilometers of border roads, enabling the Indian Army to reach and prepare for action within just 1.5 days. Shri Nadda also emphasized the transformation in internal security. During UPA rule, the then Home Minister Sushil kumar Shinde was hesitant to visit Lal Chowk in Kashmir. Today, because of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s efforts, ordinary citizens can freely and safely walk through Lal Chowk even at night. This remarkable change reflects the strong leadership and its commitment to national security.

Shri Nadda emphasized that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, development is being driven through the H.I.R.A model—Highways, Internet, Railways and Airways. The country has already built 146,000 kilometers of highways, including four-lane, six-lane expressways and elevated roads. In Maharashtra, 13,000 kilometers of roads are being constructed, along with four major greenfield expressways: Delhi-Mumbai, Indore-Hyderabad, Surat-Nashik-Ahmednagar, and Solapur-Nashik. To connect Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, the Atal Setu has been built. Additionally, the government is making significant strides in improving internet connectivity across India.

BJP National President Shri Nadda mentioned that 6 lakh 83 thousand kilometers of optical fiber has already been laid, 2 lakh gram panchayats have been connected with optical fiber in which 8 thousand 975 panchayats of Maharashtra are connected with optical fiber. Congress used to call the people of India illiterate, Congress used to say that there is no use of the internet in India, but today the youth of the country are filling the job and education forms from the panchayats connected with optical cable. Today women of rural areas are talking on mobile, this picture of a village is changing India. Today a common man is making purchases through UPI, 45% of the online transactions happening in the whole world happen in India. 100 Vande Bharat trains are running in the country, 97% railway stations have been electrified, Maharashtra's railway budget has been increased 13 times, earlier there were 74 airports in the country which have increased to 158 today, Navi Mumbai International Airport will also start functioning fully by 2025, development work has taken place in the state and the country from every perspective.

Shri Nadda stated that NITI Aayog has said that today 25 crore people of the country have risen above the poverty line, India's extreme poverty has come down to less than 1%, this has been possible because the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is giving free ration to 80 crore people of the country. In Maharashtra, 6 crore 53 lakh people are being given free ration under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana, in which 1 lakh 85 thousand people of Thane are taking benefit. Under Ayushman Bharat, about 40 percent of the country's population is being given an insurance cover of up to ₹5 lakh annually and every person above 70 years of age will get the benefit of Ayushman Yojana without any discrimination. 4 crore houses were built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, of which 30 thousand houses have been built in Thane and 28 lakh houses in Maharashtra.

BJP National President Shri Nadda highlighted that tax devaluation has increased four times, and grant-in-aid for Maharashtra has risen by 3.5 times. Pune Metro, Nashik Metro, Mumbai Metro, and Navi Mumbai Metro are under development and expansion. More than ₹2 Lakh crore investments have been inaugurated by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji within 4 months of his third term. AIIMS opened in Nagpur. Bharatiya Janata Party has decided that the ₹1500 given under Ladki Behna Yojana will be increased to ₹2100. Kisan Samman Nidhi will be increased from 12 thousand to 15 thousand rupees and arrangement of shelter and food will be made for the poor and 10 lakh children will be given 10 thousand rupees per month for tuition. ASHA and Anganwadi workers will get ₹15,000 per month. Under the leadership of Shri Eknath Shinde, development took place in the state.

Shri Nadda stated that the Maha Aghadi government has put reverse gear on progress on key projects such as the Mumbai Metro, Dharavi reconstruction, bullet trains, coastal roads, Pune Outer Link Road, Navi Mumbai Airport, and Atal Setu. Additionally, it has gone to court against the Ladli Lakshmi Yojana. He remarked that the public needs to put a stop to the Aghadi government. Their name may be Aghadi, but their work is Pichhadi. Recently, in Karnataka, the Congress introduced a new rule to allocate 4% reservation to minorities in public and private tenders. This, according to critics, is an attempt to strip SC, ST, and OBC communities of their rightful reservation and instead give it to Muslims. The Telangana government has reportedly made similar moves. While the BJP focuses on "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas", the opposition alliance, INDI, is accused of trying to divide society. The Prime Minister has never shown partiality in any of his schemes, such as the Anna Yojana, Awas Yojana, or others. For the first time, an oath ceremony in Jammu and Kashmir was conducted under the Indian Constitution. While Rahul Gandhi frequently carries the Constitution in hand, it seems he hasn’t read it, as he remains unaware that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar opposed religious-based reservations. Rahul Gandhi aims to shift reservations for OBCs, SCs, and STs to minorities based on religion. Manmohan Singh once claimed that the Muslim minority has the "first right" to the country’s resources. The Jammu and Kashmir administration, despite taking an oath under the Indian Constitution, has proposed restoring Article 370, but Jammu and Kashmir is now an inseparable part of India and cannot be separated. Additionally, the INDI alliance is attempting to settle Rohingya and Bangladeshi in India. While Balasaheb Thackeray had once stated that he would never align with Congress, it is disheartening to see Uddhav Thackeray now sitting in the lap of Congress.

BJP National President Shri Nadda stated that the people who gave the slogan ‘Afzal Hum Sharminda Hai, Tere Qatil Jinda Hai’ in favor of Afzal Guru. Afzal Guru, who was the mastermind of the Parliamentary attack, was sentenced to death by the SC, and his mercy petition was rejected by the President. Does it mean the Supreme Court and former President Pranab Mukherjee were ‘Qatil’? Slogans like ‘Bharat Tere Tukde Honge, Inshallah!’ were raised, and the next day, Rahul Gandhi went to JNU and stood with those people. It shows that Rahul Gandhi sells ‘Nafrat Ka Saaman’ in his ‘Mohabbat Ka Dukan.’ Sonia Gandhi shed tears on the Batla House terrorists' encounter, as told by Salman Khurshid. The Congress, who claim themselves as champions of OBC, did not implement the Kaka Kalelkar and Mandal commission reports. The Mandal Commission was implemented by the Janata Party, backed by BJP. How many OBCs are there in the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, the Advisory Council formed under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, and the Congress Working Committee? However, in Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s Cabinet, there are 27 OBC ministers, and even Hon’ble Shri Narendra Modi Ji is from an OBC background. In Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde and Shri Devendra Fadnavis did good work in the state. Earlier, during the Aghadi government, the funds sent by Modi Ji were used in corruption. Now, under the Double Engine government, the money sent by the PM directly reaches the people and is used for development. The public needs to support the candidates and fulfill the resolution to make Maharashtra a 1 trillion dollar economy.
